After months of seeing targeted ads for clitoral suction toys, I finally gave in and tried one… and then another one… and another… and I am officially obsessed. I will forever thank the Womanizer Starlet 2 for getting me hooked.
I’ve spent the last several weeks playing with different types of clitoral air pulse toys and can’t wait to share my reviews with you all. My friends are definitely tired of hearing me talk about them.
The Womanizer Starlet 2 was a perfect entry to rechargeable clitoral suction toys – I’m glad it was my first of many. BUT not everyone is just like me. So I will do my best to give you an objective look in this Womanizer Starlet 2 review so you can decide if it’s a good toy for you.
How Does The Starlet 2 Feel?
In short, the pleasure air technology feels sort of like receiving oral sex (from someone who really knows what they’re doing down there).
In long – well, it’s quite a unique sensation. It feels very different from a traditional vibrator.
The Starlet 2 uses a removable silicone tip to create a suction-sealed dome around the clitoris and then gently adds pressure waves. The touch-free stimulation is designed to mimic the feeling of oral sex.
It’s a sensation super focused on the clit without over-stimulating it since the toy never actually touches your clit. A lot of women (and myself) find they’re not desensitized after one orgasm with clit suction toys and can keep going.
It’s a totally unique experience – a lot of people love it but there’s another group of people who don’t enjoy the intense focus on the clit – one of the reasons I think testing out clitoral suction toys with a budget-friendly option like the Womanizer Starlet 2 or Satisfyer Pro 2 (review here) is a great idea.
As for me – I LOVE it. And the orgasms I’ve had with air pulse toys are significantly more intense than I’ve had with any traditional vibrator.
Intensity
Air pulse toys can be a good alternative for those who are overstimulated by vibrators, due to its touch-free technology. However, these toys can be very intense depending on the type and setting. Again, some people will want a lot of intensity, but others will want to stay on the low levels.
The Womanizer Starlet 2 offers just four intensity levels. While other clitoral suction toys offer a wider intensity range, like the Womanizer Premium (review here) with 12 levels and the Satisfyer Pro 2 with 11, the Starlet 2’s four levels are great for beginners to air pulse toys – and help keep the cost down.
I especially like that the levels change with “+” and “-” buttons, instead of one button that cycles through levels – an improvement on the original Starlet. Sometimes I’ll find myself going up intensity a little too soon and I’ll need to go back down again for a bit – so it’s nice to be able to quickly and easily adjust.
The Starlet 2 starts out pretty slow which is great because THESE. TOYS. GET. INTENSE. If you’re not worked up yet and you start out at a high intensity (which some toys do), it can feel a bit too much.
The lowest level on the Womanizer Starlet 2 eases you into the feeling, giving you a gentle taste of the micro air pulses. As someone who likes intense stimulation, I wasn’t immediately sure I was even using it right. “Am I doing this wrong?” I thought before climbing up the intensity levels. And then I knew I was definitely doing it right!
The second level is a small step beyond the first, but the third level kicks you into a whole new gear. The fourth level on the Starlet 2 had me gasping and hooked on clit suction vibrators.
If you want more intensity range on a budget the Satisfyer Pro 2 may be a good choice for you. But the pulsation quality can feel a bit lower to people than the Starlet 2 quality – I myself enjoy both!
Or if you’ve got some experience with air pulse toys and already know you like it WAY intense, The Womanizer Classic or Premium might give you what you’re looking for: They definitely kick it up a notch – or several – but you’ll have to pay for the extra intensity.
But for beginners to clit suction sex toys or people wanting to taste the high quality pulses of Womanizer’s tech, I think the Starlet 2’s four intensity levels are just right.
Stimulation Depth and Pulsation Tone
Vulvas are complex and each person is unique. Stimulation for people with vulvas varies greatly. Some toys’ pulses feel like they make their way deeper in the body while others are localized to the exterior of the clitoris.
Womanizer pleasure air technology tends to feel a bit deeper and “thuddier,” as opposed to lighter and “more airy”. Less thuddy toys tend to sound more shrill on higher levels, and don’t feel like they travel quite as deep into the body. Thuddier pulsations get a wrap for having more impact and a higher quality feel than less thuddy toys.
However: Personally, I enjoy both pulsation tones.
And if you’re new to air pulse sex toys or on a tight budget, I don’t think it’s worth dishing out the extra cash for the absolute thuddiest pulses early on in your explorations.
The Starlet 2 is on the thuddier side of the spectrum. Definitely thuddier than the Satisfyer Pro 2 (the other budget-option I recommend), but it’s not quite at the level of Womanizer’s high-end toys like the Womanizer Premium.
Many people also rave about the Lelo Sona’s ability to stimulate deeper than other toys including the Womanizer Starlet 2 – but they start intense and stay intense. Just like with the viral Rose sex toy (review here) – no building up slowly! Full speed ahead.
As someone who spends most of my sexy time stimulating the external clitoris, the Starlet 2 is perfect for someone like me. You don’t get quite as much range as some of Womanizer’s high end toys, but the Starlet 2 still has a high quality thuddy feel typical of Womanizer toys – even at its lower price point.
Comfort
Clitoral suction toys take some getting used to. It took me a little while to feel like I was using it correctly. But once you play around for a bit and figure out what works for you, the this sex toy is one of the more comfortable air pulse toys I’ve tried.
The Womanizer Starlet 2 is slightly bigger than the original Starlet, but an overall more comfortable shape. It’s still smaller than most air pulse toys. The small size makes it easy to hold in place and even possible to use during penetrative sex – a rare feat in the air pulse toy world.
Usually air pulse sex toys are hard to keep in place during sex, but I’ve actually had great experiences during sex with the Womanizer Starlet 2. And so have other people as this customer pointed out:
We used it today during sex and the sensation of it on my clit while being thrusted into was absolutely amazing
The removable silicone tip of the Starlet 2 is also soft and flexible, which I find more comfortable than the firm tip of the Satisfyer Pro 2.
Verdict: How Does the Womanizer Starlet 2 Feel
The Womanizer Starlet 2’s four intensity levels are a great entry to the world of clit suction toys. And each level of intensity has a high quality feel.
The Starlet 2 doesn’t get as intense as the higher end models, but the third and fourth levels still had my toes curling. Plus, a lot of women find the higher levels of clit suction toys too intense and never find themselves clicking the up button past their toy’s mid-range.
But if you already have a bit of experience with clit suction toys, and know you like high intensity levels – it may be time for you to grab the Womanizer Premium.
The Womanizer Starlet 2 provides enough range and intensity at a low cost to find out if you enjoy clit suction toys. Plus it’s comfortable and easier to use during sex than other models. As my own entry point to air pulse toys, the Starlet 2 had me convinced – these toys are for me.
How Easy is it to Keep the Starlet 2 on Your Clit?
You’ll know when the tip is attached correctly to your clitoris. For one, it makes a much louder noise when it breaks the seal. Applying a water-based lube around the tip makes it much easier to keep the seal.
The more you move, the more likely it is to slip off the clit, so clit suction toys are notoriously difficult to use during penetrative sex – But I’ve found the Womanizer Starlet 2 easier than other clit suction toys! Practice makes perfect, so give it some time.
Knowing how much I loved playing with this toy during my solo-love time, my partner asked if we could use it during penetrative sex. I was hesitant at first. I didn’t know how easy it would be to keep the tip around my clit, but we made it work. I put down my fav vibrator and picked up the Womanizer Starlet 2. We found that it worked best when we were in a spooning position. I orgasmed more times than I ever had before.
After that experience we didn’t have sex without a clit suction toy in weeks.
The Starlet 2 is also fully waterproof. Many people recommend using the Starlet 2 in the bathtub because the water helps keep the tip sealed. If used under water, do not give into the temptation to use a silicone-based lubricant. Water-based lubricants are the only recommended option to use with the Starlet 2.
Starlet 2 Noise
Womanizer greatly improved the noise level from the original Starlet, but the Starlet 2 is still louder than the Womanizer Liberty, which is unbelievably quiet.
On the first and second level, the Womanizer Starlet 2 has a quiet thumping sound. The top two levels are much louder, especially when the seal breaks. The sound of the seal breaking on the higher levels surprised me the first couple of times and almost killed the mood.
In my quiet apartment, my partner said he could hear the toy in the next room over when it was on its highest setting, but not when it was on the lower levels. That’s without any other noise or music in either room. Other background noise easily drowns out the Starlet 2’s sound. Someone in the same room would definitely notice though.
Womanizer Starlet 2 Cost – How Does It Compare
The cost of the Womanizer Starlet 2 is relatively inexpensive compared to other high quality air pulse toys. The Starlet 2 is Womanizer’s budget model and a great beginner clit suction toy. The stronger and slightly smaller Liberty also costs only a little more. Both are great options for a beginner.
With a more expensive toy, like the Womanizer Premium, you’ll get many more levels than with the Starlet 2. The greater range can allow you to build up to orgasm more slowly over time through ever-so-subtle steps in intensity. And you can finish with greater intensity than the Starlet 2 as well. The Lelo Sona 2 is one of the few suction toys to offer different pulsing patterns too. A lower price means fewer bells and whistles than the higher end toys.
Womanizer Starlet 2 Review Results:
The Womanizer Starlet 2 is a QUALITY toy on a budget. Even though it only has four levels, they’re enough for me – and Womanizer doesn’t skimp on the quality build. Especially if you’ve never tried a clit suction toy before – I wouldn’t start more expensive than the Starlet 2 (or the Liberty if you want a couple more intensity levels). Since not everyone loves clit suction toys and is constantly raving to their friends about these toys like me, I recommend beginning your explorations at the budget level with a toy like the Starlet 2.
The Starlet 2 is a great toy if you:
- Are just getting started with air pulse toys and want a quality toy to help you learn if air pulse toys are a good fit for you
- Enjoy intense, focused clitoral stimulation but don’t need ultra-high levels
- Want a smaller clit suction toy that’s easier to use during sex
- Are on a budget
There are better alternatives to the Starlet 2 if you:
- Need a wide range of intensity levels for a slower build-up to orgasm
- Have a higher budget and are looking for the thuddiest pulses
- Need a near-silent toy
Womanizer Starlet 2 Alternatives
Womanizer Starlet 2 vs Womanizer Liberty
The Womanizer Liberty is another great (slightly less) budget-friendly option for beginners. Costing just a touch more, the Liberty is a small step up from the Starlet 2.
First, the Liberty offers six intensity levels instead of just four. The first level on the Liberty is slightly more intense than the lowest level of the Starlet 2, and the highest level is significantly more intense.
The Womanizer Liberty is known for “on-the-go” use. It is slightly smaller than the Starlet 2 and comes with a sleek cover, making it ideal for traveling. The Liberty is also quieter, for those risky travelers to use on the airplane.
The Liberty beats the Starlet’s run time by a landslide. When fully charged The Starlet runs for 30 minutes, and the Liberty runs for 120. If you’re like me and forget to charge your toys until they die just before climax, then you might want a toy with a longer battery life.
Lastly, the Liberty comes with an extra silicone stimulator head just in case the original head does not fit as well.
We recommend the Womanizer Liberty over the Womanizer Starlet 2 If:
- You’re looking for a quieter toy
- You want to be able to finish at a higher intensity than the Starlet 2
- You’re wanting a toy that lasts for more than 30 minutes at a time

Womanizer Starlet 2 vs Satisfyer Pro 2 – A More Budget-Friendly Alternative
After falling in love with the Starlet 2, I tried another budget-friendly alternative: the Satisfyer Pro 2. I was not disappointed. The Pro 2 is less expensive than the Starlet 2. So if you want to test the waters of air pulse toys at an even lower price point the Satisfyer Pro 2 is a great choice.
There are some key differences to be aware of. The size is one noticeable difference- The Satisfyer Pro 2 is much bigger than the Starlet 2. I prefer the size of the Womanizer Starlet 2 because it is easier to use during penetrative sex, but we made the Pro 2 work as well.
The stimulator tip is more firm on the Satisfyer than the Starlet 2, which made it slightly less comfortable to me.
But I was shocked to find out that the Pro 2 had 11 intensity levels. Despite the lower price, the Pro 2 offers users a bigger range of intensity.
Satisfyer toys are a bit less “thuddy” than Womanizer toys. Many say that the “thuddy” sensations of Womanizer’s Pleasure Air tech feels higher quality than Satisfyer’s lighter pulses. Personally, I enjoy both and there are days I still have a hard time telling the difference. In my opinion both these toys are great for a beginner.
We recommend the Satisfyer Pro 2 over the Womanizer Starlet 2 If:
- You are a beginner on a tighter budget
- You don’t need the thuddiest pulsations
- You don’t mind a bit less comfortable tip and more difficult use during sex than the Starlet 2
- You want a greater range of intensity levels than the Starlet 2 for a slower build-up
- You want to finish at a higher intensity level

Womanizer Starlet 2 vs Womanizer Premium – Best Range and Highest Quality Feel
I wouldn’t recommend the Womanizer Premium be your first clit suction toy. But if you’re someone who already loves clit suction toys and are looking for an upgrade to your collection, then it may be time to consider the Womanizer Premium. The Premium uses the same air pulse technology with many more features and an exceptionally high quality feel.
When the Starlet 2 slips off the clit and breaks the seal, the toy makes a pretty startling sound that can throw you off your game. The Womanizer Premium uses Smart Silence technology to make sure the toy only starts when it is in contact with your skin. If your head slips by accident, the toy simply goes into standby mode. The toy itself is also quieter than the Starlet 2 during use.
The second most unique feature of the Womanizer Premium is the Autopilot mode. Place the toy on your clitoris, switch on the Autopilot, and the Premium will switch intensity levels at random. If you’re someone that likes giving up control and experiencing the unexpected, this feature is right for you.
The Premium also has 12 intensity levels, which allow users to gradually build up to orgasm beginning at the lowest level. It starts less intense than the Starlet 2 and finishes much more intense. Plus it’s pulsations are very thuddy.
It also comes with an extra stimulator head and a satin pouch for storage.
The Womanizer Premium is the highest quality and most luxurious clit suction toy I’ve tried so far – and the one I use most 🙂
If you want more info, check out my Womanizer Premium review. Or if you’re looking for a clit suction toy with G-spot stimulation too, head to my Womanizer Duo review.
We recommend the Womanizer Premium over the Womanizer Starlet 2 If:
- You want the best intensity range and highest quality pulsation feel
- You already know you enjoy clit suction toys and are looking for a quality upgrade
- You get easily thrown off by the loud noise of the toy slipping off of the clit and would benefit from the Smart Silence feature
Overall Thoughts
The air pulse toy world is changing quickly. Technology is improving and new features are being added all the time.
The Starlet 2 remains one of the best air pulse toys for beginners – it got me hooked and now these toys make up the majority of my sex toy collection. The Starlet 2’s small body makes it easy to use during solo and even partnered play – pretty rare for clitoral air pulse toys.
The simple design, classic technology, and affordable price make the Starlet 2 a great choice for someone new to these toys. It’s a wonderful entry point to the clit suction world.
