Lovense Ferri vs Vulse Side-By-Side Comparison

Our Verdict
The Lovense Ferri is the best panty vibrator overall. It has great performance across the board making it a good fit for most people.
It’s the strongest panty vibrator I’ve tested. And the curved body, held in place by a strong magnet, transfers more of that power to your clit than any other panty vibrator – making it one of the few I can orgasm with hands-free, and it’s the one I do most easily.
The Lovense app is excellent with better features and connectivity than any other brand, whether playing close-range or with a long-distance partner.
While it can sound noisy in silence, the vibrations are reasonably quiet with a bit of background noise. Though there are quieter panty vibrators if discretion is a priority. Including the NS Novelties Techno Lucy (app-controlled) and VeDO Niki (remote-controlled). But the Lucy’s app is much worse than Lovense’s and the Niki is only remote controlled. The Lovense Ferri provides the best experience overall.
The Lovense Vulse is a good egg vibrator if you specifically want hands-free internal movement instead of powerful vibrations. Many people like how thrusting feels internally more than vibes – it’s a preference.
Its thrusting feels gentle but very enjoyable. As with all G-spot-only toys, I can’t orgasm from the Vulse alone, but when I pair it with clit stimulation, the thrusting enhances and extends my orgasms, makes them feel fuller, and helps me have back-to-back orgasms more quickly. Lovense’s excellent app also lets you control multiple toys together, so you can pair it with a clit vibrator like the Lovense Ferri for hands-free dual-stimulation.
While it’s best used in bed since it’s not that comfy to walk around with it in, the Vulse is the most secure motion-based wearable vibrator I’ve tested, so you could wear it around. It’s the only one I don’t feel like is going to fall out while I’m walking around.
The trade-offs are that the Vulse’s vibrations are weak and buzzy, the thrusting motor is loud, and its girthy straight shape and straight antenna are less comfortable than Lovense’s vibrating Lush eggs.
If you’re mainly looking for something you can wear around with strong, quiet vibrations, and better comfort as you move, a purely vibrating egg like the Lovense Lush 4 would be better. If you’re looking mainly for something to use in bed and enjoy motion internally, the Vulse is really fun.
The Lovense Ferri is a great panty vibrator to wear around.
The especially strong magnet holds the toy in a stimulating spot with walking, stairs, and even heavier activity like running, squats, and dancing. The vibrations are the most stimulating of any panty vibrator I’ve tested, and the battery lasts longer than most panty vibrators. And the Lovense app’s features and connectivity are by far the best of any brand’s.
The vibrations are reasonably quiet with some background noise, but there are more discreet panty vibrators if you’re especially concerned about noise, including the NS Novelties Techno Lucy (app-controlled) and VeDO Niki (remote-controlled). Though the Lucy’s app is much worse than Lovense’s and the Niki is only remote controlled.
For those looking for dual-stimulation while walking around, wearing the Ferri together with a Lovense Lush 4 is also more stimulating and more comfortable than the dual-stimulation Lovense Dolce, because the two toys can be positioned independently so each motor is in the best spot for you.
The Lovense Vulse is the best motion-based wearable I’ve tested for wearing around, but it still has significant trade-offs compared to vibration-only eggs.
Most toys with internal motion, like the Lovense Flexer, Lelo Ida Wave, Lelo Hula Beads and others, work better lying down because the motion mechanism causes them to shift or work their way out. The Vulse is the only one I’ve tested that stays securely in place as I move around – even during heavier movement like running and jumping.
You or a partner has excellent control of the Vulse through the Lovense app – the best app of any brand with easy-to-use controls and reliable connectivity.
However, it’s very noisy – much louder than eggs that just vibrate, like the Lovense Lush 4. It has a shorter battery life, and the straight antenna is not as comfortable as the newer Lovense Lush models. I also find the motion distracting if I’m walking around – whereas it feels good in bed.
So if wearing it around is your goal, you’re better off with a vibrating egg like the Lush 4 or Lush Mini. If you want a toy with motion mainly to use in bed that you could occasionally wear around, the Vulse is good.
The Lovense Ferri is one of the best panty vibrators for hands-free clit stimulation in bed.
If you’re looking for a toy to give you clit stimulation in bed while freeing up your hands for other things, the stimulation is the most important thing. The Ferri’s clit motor is the strongest of any panty vibrator, and the slim, curved body transfers more of that power to your clit than any other I’ve tested – together, they make the Ferri the easiest panty vibrator for me to orgasm with hands-free.
The magnet holds the toy securely exactly where I place it. It stays in place when sitting, lying back, and rolling onto my side, without me having to reach down and adjust.
Using the Lovense Vulse in bed for hands-free internal stimulation is its best use. It’s a good option if you find movement more stimulating internally than strong G-spot vibrations.
I can’t orgasm from the Vulse alone, but its thrusting feels enjoyable and adds fullness when I pair it with clit stimulation. It enhances and extends my orgasms and helps me have back-to-back orgasms more quickly. You can use a handheld clit vibrator or pair it with the Lovense Ferri, which Lovense’s app lets you control alongside the Vulse for fully hands-free dual-stimulation.
Because its movement is in-and-out, it’s not as G-spot-focused as toys with an angled rotating head or shaft like the Lelo Ida Wave (a dual-stimulation wearable) or the Lovense Nora (a handheld rabbit) that target the front wall better. But it still feels good and filling. The motion and fullness is the stimulating part – the vibrations are much weaker and buzzier than vibration-only eggs like the Lovense Lush 4.
The Lovense Ferri is the best panty vibrator we’ve tested for long-distance partner play.
On the app side, Lovense’s long-distance experience is the best of any panty vibrator I’ve tested by a wide margin. My partner gets excellent controls for adjusting the vibration power or sending patterns. Plus a clean, intuitive video call where the controls can be tucked out of the way, and excellent messaging and media sharing tools. Sessions don’t drop unexpectedly, and the connection survives normal phone behavior on either end – as long as you have decent Wi-Fi or cell signal, it works great.
The Ferri is also the most stimulating panty vibrator we’ve tested, and the magnet keeps it well-secured through whatever you’re doing while your partner’s controlling it – whether you’re in bed or walking around. And the battery lasts longer than most panty vibrators.
The Lovense Vulse is a good long-distance toy if you and your partner specifically want hands-free internal movement instead of powerful G-spot vibrations.
Lovense has the best long-distance app experience of any brand, with reliable connectivity, saved partners, in-app messaging and video calls, and detailed controls for changing the Vulse’s thrusting and vibrations. You can also connect multiple Lovense toys, so you can pair the Vulse with the Lovense Ferri for long-distance, hands-free dual-stimulation. And if your partner also has a Lovense toy, you can control their toy while they control yours.
The Vulse works best for long-distance sessions in bed, where its thrusting feels enjoyable and filling without becoming uncomfortable and distracting as it can when walking around. It stays securely in place while moving, so you can wear it outside the bedroom – but its louder, and its girthy shape and straight antenna are less comfortable than Lovense’s Lush eggs like the Lush 4 or Lush Mini for wearing around.

Clit Stimulation: Main Takeaways
In the next sections, I’ll cover the Ferri’s vibration power and rumbliness in-depth.
Here’s the main conclusion:
The Ferri is the most stimulating panty vibrator we’ve tested, and one I orgasm with hands-free the easiest.
It’s the strongest panty vibe I’ve tested and transfers more of its motor’s power to your clit than any other. Like most panty vibrators, the vibrations are buzzy rather than rumbly. If rumbly stimulation matters more to you, go with the VeDO Niki. If power matters more, go with the Ferri.
Like all egg vibrators, the Lovense Vulse only stimulates your G-spot – not your clit. For clit stimulation, a panty vibrator is the better type of wearable for you. See all our recommendations for the best panty vibrators here.
An egg vibrator is a good option if:
- You enjoy internal vibrations, G-spot pressure, or fullness on its own. (Many people need clit stimulation to orgasm, but internal stimulation can still feel good and be great foreplay.)
- You plan to pair it with clit stimulation from something else.
I can’t orgasm even with our strongest G-spot vibrator alone, but when I pair it with clitoral stimulation, it makes my orgasms feel more full.
Clit Vibrations: Power, Range, and Transfer Effectiveness
The Lovense Ferri reaches a top power of 9.35 out of 10 – the strongest of any panty vibrator we’ve tested, and it’s the one I orgasm with the easiest.
Other panty vibrators I recommend like the VeDO Niki and the NS Novelties Techno Lucy top out at 8.0 and 9.0. And the range available through the app is wide, from a very gentle 1.0 up to that 9.35, so there’s soft warmup levels and strong upper levels.
The Ferri also transfers that power to my clit better than any other panty vibrator I’ve tested. With a handheld toy you can position the toy where you want it and press harder for more intensity; but with wearables the toy’s shape and fit have to do all the work of delivering the motor’s strength to your body. The Ferri is one of the few panty vibrators that does an excellent job transferring vibrations to my clit. The slightly curved design hugs the body, and the short length prevents the toy from pivoting or getting knocked out of place with movement.
And the Ferri’s curve with a taller front also lets you apply more pressure when you want to without using your hands – something flat panty vibes can’t do. When you’re sitting, shifting your weight against the end opposite your clit tilts the toy and presses the clit-end more firmly into you, making the vibrations feel stronger. It’s the closest a hands-free wearable gets to the pressure control of a handheld.
The stimulation profile here is focused and precise rather than broad and blanketing. If you prefer broad stimulation that spreads the stimulation out, the VeDO Niki is also a good option, but not quite as strong.
Clit Vibrations: Frequency (Rumbliness)
We rate rumbly vibrations higher than buzzy ones because most people prefer them, but it’s a preference and some people enjoy buzzy vibrations more (I like them personally).
Like most panty vibrators, the Lovense Ferri’s rumbliness is mediocre. The Ferri’s vibrations are moderately buzzy at medium strength, and extremely buzzy at the top of its range. Although its lowest settings are rumbly, most people will use them mainly while warming up. Vibrations always become buzzier as you increase power, and by the time you reach the upper levels that you’ll likely need to orgasm, the vibrations are entirely in the buzzy range.
This buzzier feel is typical of most panty vibrators, including the We-Vibe Moxie+, NS Novelties Techno Lucy, Romp Party and others. The small motors that fit inside a panty vibe tend to need to spin faster (be buzzier) to produce the power larger motors can at slower (more rumbly) speeds.
If rumbly vibrations are a strong preference for you, the VeDO Niki has much deeper-feeling vibrations. I personally enjoy both the buzzy feel of the Ferri’s vibrations and the rumbliness of the Niki’s.
G-spot Stimulation: Main Takeaways
Like all panty vibrators, the Lovense Ferri only stimulates your clit – not your G-spot. Since most women need clit stimulation to orgasm, a panty vibrator is often the right type of wearable – that’s why I personally enjoy it more than the Lovense Lush 4 and Lush Mini. But if you’re interested in G-spot stimulation instead, see all our recommendations for the best egg vibrators here.
In the next sections, I’ll cover the Vulse’s vibration power, rumbliness, and thrusting motion in detail.
Here’s the main conclusion: the Vulse delivers good, enjoyable G-spot stimulation through its thrusting motion, but the vibrations are weak and buzzy. Don’t buy the Vulse expecting it to feel like the much stronger Lush models – the Lovense Lush 4 is 4x stronger.
Instead, it’s a nice option for those who prefer internal movement. For me, the Vulse works best paired with a favorite external clit vibrator: it does not carry me to orgasm by itself, but it noticeably enhances one.
G-spot Vibrations: Power, Range, and Transfer Effectiveness
The Vulse’s G-spot vibrations are weak for an egg vibrator. Its main feature is the thrusting motion, so the vibrations feel secondary: I rate its top power at 2.5 out of 10, with the low end starting at 0.8.
Lovense’s vibration-only eggs, like the Lovense Lush 4, Lush Mini, and Lush 3, are roughly 4x stronger. They also feel more G-spot focused since their bulbous, countoured shape angles and presses the vibrations into the front wall better than the Vulse’s straighter shape.
With the Vulse, I barely notice the vibrations alongside the thrusting. If strong G-spot vibrations matter more to you than motion, go with the Lovense Lush 4 or Lush Mini instead.
G-spot Vibrations: Frequency (Rumbliness)
We rate rumbly vibrations higher than buzzy ones because most people prefer deeper vibrations that travel through the body, though this is still a personal preference.
The Lovense Vulse is mostly buzzy. Though the vibrations start out moderately rumbly, the whole power range is too weak for any real impact. And by the time it’s reached the top power, its vibrating at 185 Hz – far into the extremely buzzy range. The Vulse’s vibrations need some deeper rumbliness to feel impactful at this strength.
The combination of weak and buzzy vibes means it is mostly the thrusting motion that drives the stimulation. If you prioritize rumbly vibrations over motion, go with the Lovense Lush 4 or VeDO Kiwi.
G-spot Stimulation from Motion
The Lovense Vulse provides enjoyable, noticeable internal motion, that strengthens my orgasms, but its thrusting does not target my G-spot as directly as I’d like.
The Vulse moves in and out rather than pressing upward into the front vaginal wall. So the stimulation feels more like general internal movement and fullness than focused G-spot pressure. It still feels good, and it performs much better than similar motion-based egg vibrators like the Lelo Hula Beads which has too little range of motion to be stimulating.
For me, the Vulse works best as hands-free internal stimulation paired with a separate clit vibrator. I can’t orgasm from internal stimulation alone, but its movement and fullness make my orgasms from clit stimulation feel stronger, fuller, and more drawn-out.
The Vulse’s motion motor is good – it doesn’t stall or slow down under pressure. And you have good control over the thrusting speed through the Lovense app. You can change it gradually from 55 cycles per minute (CPM) to 104. How far the Vulse thrusts is fixed at about 0.28 inches. While it’s a fairly shallow motion, its enough for me to enjoy, but some people may want more depth.
Compared with dual-stimulation motion wearables, the Vulse creates more noticeable internal movement than the Lovense Flexer, whose motor mainly moves the external clit arm. The Vulse’s internal motion feels about as stimulating as the Lelo Ida Wave, though the Vulse creates more fullness while the Ida Wave directs its rotating motion more toward the front wall. Both the Flexer and Ida Wave also provide built-in clit stimulation, so I can orgasm with them hands-free; the Vulse requires a separate clit vibrator.
App Control: Main Takeaways
In the next sections, I’ll cover the Lovense Remote app’s close-range and long-distance features in depth, plus the Ferri’s connectivity in both modes.
Here’s the main conclusion: Lovense’s app is the best of any brand’s I’ve tested, by a wide margin.
I have many remote and app-controlled toys, and Lovense’s app provides the most control, is easiest to use, and has the most reliable connectivity.
If app control matters a lot to you in a panty vibrator, the Ferri is the best choice.
In the next sections, I’ll cover the Lovense app’s close-range features, long-distance features, and connectivity in detail.
Here’s the main conclusion:
The Lovense app is by far the best of any brand. It provides the most control, is easiest to use, and has the most reliable connectivity. If an outstanding app is your top priority, stick to a Lovense toy.
App Control: Close-Range Features
The Ferri’s app has the best close-range features of any panty vibrator I’ve tested.
From the main remote screen, you’ll control the Ferri by dragging its control dot up and down to adjust the power. Tap “Float” to keep the power constant or click “Loop” to quickly repeat a pattern you draw on-screen. This makes it easy to set your Ferri exactly to your preferred intensity or quickly create your own vibration patterns from the same screen.
The vibrations play as you draw, so you can feel whether you actually like the pattern – some apps make you draw a waveform blindly, save it, then play it back to feel what it does. Tapping “Record” also saves the pattern to “My Patterns” for re-use if you enjoyed it.
You can also connect and control multiple Lovense toys at once with each motor getting its own dot on the Remote screen. So if you have both a Lovense Lush 4 and a Ferri, you can control them together for simultaneous clit and G-spot stimulation (which I personally prefer over using the dual-stimulation Lovense Dolce). Or you can control your own toy and a nearby partner’s toy at once. We tested four toys simultaneously without issue.
For preset patterns, you can use the “My Patterns” screen which has four defaults to choose from, plus anything you’ve drawn and saved, and any patterns you’ve downloaded from Lovense’s community library. Lovense has an active community creating and sharing patterns to browse and download.
Sound-reactive control is also excellent and the most practical I’ve used in any app. You set a minimum decibel threshold – the toy stays silent when the sound around you is below the threshold. And you set a sensitivity – how much of the toy’s power range will be used when the sound is above the threshold. There’s also a live decibel readout to calibrate against the room you’re in. Many other apps try to combine these settings or don’t even have a threshold control.
The music-sync mode is pretty good: it follows what’s playing on Spotify or your local files, but the only real control is capping the maximum intensity. It works fine as a way to get changing vibrations without having to control anything yourself.
Lovense has a few niche extra control features and settings that can be helpful – Voice Control if your fingers are otherwise occupied, and Device-to-Device control where another Lovense toy (the Max 2, Nora, or Solace) drives the Ferri’s vibrations through the controller’s own movements. You can also set a max-intensity setting for each toy to cap how high the vibrations can go – this can be useful both for keeping the toy below a noise threshold and for limiting how high a partner can push it if you’re sensitive to overstimulation.
Overall, the Lovense app’s close-range features are excellent and the best of any brand.
The Vulse’s app has the best close-range features of any brand.
On the main Remote screen, you drag a control dot up or down to adjust vibration intensity and speed of thrusting. Lovense typically provides control of separate motors in the app, but unfortunately the vibrations and thrusting are linked in the Vulse. So raising the vibration intensity increases the thrusting speed, and vice versa.
Tap Float to hold a steady power level and thrusting speed, or Loop to draw a custom pattern that repeats. Since the toy reacts as you draw, you can feel the pattern in real time instead of creating it blindly and testing it later. If you like what you made, tap Record to save it to My Patterns.
You can also control multiple Lovense toys at once with each toy getting its own dots on the Remote screen. For example, you can pair both the Lovense Ferri (a clit vibrator) and the Vulse for simultaneous clit and G-spot stimulation. Or you can control your own toy and a nearby partner’s toy at once. We tested four toys simultaneously without issue.
For presets, the My Patterns screen includes Lovense’s default patterns, anything you’ve saved, and patterns downloaded from Lovense’s active community library.
Lovense’s sound-reactive mode is also the best I’ve used. You can set a minimum decibel threshold, so the toy stays still until the room gets loud enough, and adjust sensitivity to control how much of the toy’s power range it uses. The live decibel readout makes it easy to calibrate. Many other apps either combine these controls or don’t offer a threshold at all.
The music-sync mode works with Spotify or local files and follows the music well enough for hands-free variation. You can cap the intensity to keep it in your comfortable range.
Lovense also includes a few useful extras: Voice Control, device-to-device control with certain Lovense toys, and per-toy max intensity settings. The intensity cap is helpful if you want to limit noise or prevent a partner from pushing the toy too high.
Overall, the Lovense app’s close-range features are excellent – and still the best of any brand I’ve tested.
App Control: Long-Distance Features
Lovense’s long-distance experience is also the best of any panty vibrator I’ve tested, by a wide margin.
When messaging or video calling, my partner gets the same great Remote screen with the Float and Loop controls, so they can set a constant intensity or draw a looping pattern easily. The long-distance core controls aren’t stripped down like many apps do. One minor downside is that you can’t control your own toy during a video call; only your partner can. Most of the time that’s fine, but occasionally I’d like to take over for a moment to set my own intensity.
The video call tools are excellent and make for a seamless experience with your partner.
Getting into a call is easy – when your partner sends a video call request, there’s a clear screen on your phone with a green accept button or red reject button. Some apps send the request to a particular screen and your partner has to go there to find it, which makes calls easy to miss, but requests in Lovense’s app are noticeable.
When you’re in a video call, you can mute, toggle your camera off/on, flip video to front or back, cast the audio to a speaker, or end the call.
It’s easy to see your partner and access the controls – the video feed is clear by default. Just tap the screen to bring up the control panel. You can also reposition your self-view anywhere on the screen to see your partner more clearly. Some apps keep annoying controls permanently covering the view of your partner.
You can both lock your phone screen or use other apps without issue. The in-app messaging is alo excellent and very easy to use with a thread that’s easy to follow – it looks just like any other message thread. You can send all the important media types you might want to: voice notes, photos, and videos from your camera or camera roll. And there’s an effective, optional “burn after reading” feature for single-time viewing and preventing screenshots.
You can adjust your partner’s settings to auto-accept their control requests so they can take control of your toy by surprise, get a push notification when they come online, or hide your online status from them specifically. And each partner’s controls can be set differently.
Anonymous and group play is broader than any other app-controlled brand. You can send a one-time control link to someone or create a group link for up to 10 people to control your toy. When time’s up they lose control and can’t request it again.
If long-distance play is the main reason you’re buying a panty vibrator, the Ferri is the best choice.
Lovense also has the best long-distance experience of any brand, by a wide margin.
During messaging or video calls, your partner gets the same excellent Remote screen used for close-range control. They can set a steady intensity/speed with Float or draw a repeating pattern with Loop, so long-distance control doesn’t feel stripped down. The only small downside is that you can’t control your own toy during a video call – only your partner can.
The video call tools are excellent. Incoming calls are easy to notice and accept, and once you’re in a call, the video feed is clear. You can mute, toggle your camera, switch between front and back cameras, cast audio to a speaker, or end the call. The controls stay out of the way until you tap the screen, and you can move your self-view so it doesn’t block your partner.
The app also handles normal phone use well. You can lock your screen or switch to another app without disrupting the session.
Messaging is equally strong. The thread is easy to follow, and you can send voice notes, photos, and videos from your camera or camera roll. There’s also an optional “burn after reading” feature for one-time viewing that prevents screenshots and it works as intended.
Lovense gives you helpful partner settings too. You can let a trusted partner auto-accept control requests, get a notification when they come online, or hide your online status from specific people. Each partner can have different settings.
Lovense also offers the broadest anonymous and group control options. You can send a one-time control link or create a group link for up to 10 people. When the time runs out, they lose access and can’t request control again.
If long-distance play is the main reason you’re buying a wearable vibrator, Lovense is the best choice.
App Control: Connectivity
The Ferri’s connectivity is excellent and the most reliable of any panty vibrator I’ve tested, in both nearby Bluetooth and long-distance modes.
Pairing is fast and easy. The very first time is fast but takes a couple steps: tap “Add Toy,” turn the Ferri on, and it appears in the toy list to be added in seconds. After that one-time setup, the Ferri auto-connects immediately when you turn it on with the app open.
Once paired, the Ferri stays connected through normal phone behavior – locking the screen, switching to another app, or leaving Lovense Remote idle for long stretches doesn’t drop the connection.
It also stays connected through body interference like happens when a partner is controlling your toy from an angle or behind you. Water-rich materials like body tissue dampen Bluetooth signals more than walls or clothing, which is why some panty vibrators that handle solo app control fine still drop the connection during partner control.
Our body-interference test simulates this at three progressively harder positions, and the Ferri holds a stable connection at all three – including the most severe angle. Other panty vibrators like the Satisfyer Sexy Secret and NS Novelties Techno Lucy lose the connection at that worst-case angle. So if a partner controlling your toy with a lot of your body in the way is part of how you’ll use a panty vibe, the Ferri’s connectivity is excellent.
Bluetooth range came in around 190 feet in our open-air test (measured with a clear line-of-sight) before the connection dropped – well past the distance you’d likely cover during typical wearable use. Your own results may vary depending on walls and interference.
When a disconnect does happen (like if you walk out of range, or something briefly blocks the signal), the app reconnects automatically as soon as the signal is clear, and a red “Reconnecting…” indicator on screen shows the controlling partner that control has paused rather than pretending it’s still working.
Two settings also give you control over what the vibrations do during a disconnect: Auto-Stop pauses the Ferri until reconnection – useful for making sure the toy stays silent – or you can set it to keep the last vibration level running so stimulation isn’t interrupted.
The long-distance connectivity is also excellent. The long-distance connection works in two parts: the Ferri talks to your phone over Bluetooth (the same as during nearby play), and your phone talks to your partner’s phone over Wi-Fi or cell data. So as long as your cell signal or Wi-Fi is decent, the long-distance connection works well. Sessions don’t drop unexpectedly, commands consistently take effect, and the connection survives normal phone behavior on either end (locking the screen, switching apps, backgrounding Lovense Remote).
It can be spotty if you’re continually switching from wifi to cell data. So if you’re in this situation, it’s best to start the call on cell data, which prevents the call from dropping.
The Vulse’s connectivity is excellent. Lovense has the most reliable app connection of any brand I’ve tested, both for nearby Bluetooth control and long-distance play.
Pairing is quick: the very fist time, just tap Add Toy, turn the Vulse on, and it appears in the app within seconds. After that first setup, it auto-connects as soon as you turn it on with the app open.
Once paired, the Vulse stays connected through normal phone use, including locking your screen, switching apps, or leaving the app idle.
It also handles body interference very well. Body tissue can weaken Bluetooth more than walls or clothing, which is why some egg vibrators work fine for solo control but drop connection when a partner controls them from certain angles. In our body-interference test, the Vulse stayed connected through all three positions, including the hardest one. Other eggs, like the Satisfyer Ribbed Petal lost connection at certain angles.
Bluetooth range was excellent too, reaching about 240 feet in our clear line-of-sight test. That’s far more than most people will need, though the newer Lovense Lush 4 reached an even farther 365 feet. Keep in mind, walls and other interference will shorten real-world range.
If the Vulse does disconnect, the app reconnects automatically once the signal is clear. A red “Reconnecting…” message also tells the controlling partner that control has paused. You can choose whether the toy stops vibrating during a disconnect with Auto-Stop, or keeps vibrating at the last intensity level until it reconnects.
Long-distance connectivity is also excellent. The toy connects to your phone over Bluetooth, and your phone connects to your partner’s phone over Wi-Fi or cell data. Since the Bluetooth connection is strong, long-distance play works well as long as your internet connection is decent. Sessions stay stable, commands go through reliably, and locking your phone or switching apps doesn’t disrupt control.
One quirk: if you start a session on Wi-Fi and then switch to cell data, the first switch can drop control and require a quick re-invite. After that, switching works normally. To avoid this, start the session on cellular data and then you can switch freely between the two.
Remote Control: Main Takeaways
The Lovense Ferri doesn’t include a physical remote control. A remote lets you adjust the toy by feel – without pulling out your phone. Though there’s other downsides like less depth and no visual feedback to help your partner know what your toy’s doing. If you want to consider options with physical remotes, see our recommendations in these guides:
- best remote and app-controlled vibrators (all types of vibrators)
- best wearable vibrators (wearables only).
The Lovense Vulse doesn’t include a physical remote control. A remote lets you adjust the toy by feel – without pulling out your phone. Though there’s other downsides like less depth and no visual feedback to help your partner know what your toy’s doing. If you want to consider options with physical remotes, see our recommendations in these guides:

On-Toy Controls
Like most panty vibrators, the Ferri’s on-toy controls are limited by design – the toy sits inside your underwear during use, so you’ll typically rely on the app.
A single button cycles forward through three power presets and four vibration patterns; there’s no backward step, and the full power range is only available through the app. The three presets are programmable from the app’s “Adjust Levels” screen, so you can set them to whatever levels you like. I’d rather the patterns weren’t on the cycle – most people don’t use them, and they add more clicks when you’re cycling through power levels.
The button is easy to feel and press without looking. Pressing pushes the Ferri against your body, but the button sits further back from the clit-end than on most panty vibrators, so the pressure lands in a plusher, more comfortable spot than a lot of panty vibrators.
In practice, the on-toy button is mostly for turning the Ferri on and off – the app handles everything else.
While the app is the main way to control the Vulse, the toy does have a single externally accessible button on the antenna. This is much better than egg vibrators with a button on the body of the egg, which you have to remove to access.
The single button cycles through three power levels and four patterns on the same loop. You cannot step backward, so dropping to a gentler/slower level means clicking through the remaining settings first. Seven total settings is not terrible for backup control, but I would rather Lovense leave patterns out of the on-toy cycle.
If you do plan to use the on-toy button, Lovense allows you to set the 3 on-toy preset powers to whatever intensity you want through the app. That way, you can customize it to settings you’ll actually use.
Secure Fit & Adjustability
The Lovense Ferri stays securely in place.
The magnet allows you to position the Ferri in the best spot on your underwear for you and secure it in place. The Ferri’s magnet is very strong, and the Ferri’s body is lightweight, so there isn’t much weight working against the anchor. The magnet is strong enough to hold the Ferri through my hand. I can place the toy anywhere in my underwear it stays there.
When using the Ferri in bed, it doesn’t budge from where I magnet it. Leg movement when shifting between sitting, lying back, and rolling onto my side nudges the toy a little, but I never feel it slipping off my clit – any small repositioning is just to optimize the spot.
When wearing it around while walking, it wiggles side-to-side a bit, but the magnet holds securely – and this movement actually makes it feel more stimulating.
Heavy activity like running, squats, dancing, and jumping jacks is where the Ferri shifts the most. It bounces around a little with gravity on landings, but always snaps back to its original spot, never falls out, and stays in a stimulating place throughout.
The Lovense Vulse fits very securely – it’s the most secure of any of my wearable vibrators with motion. It was surprisingly comparable to eggs that only vibrate.
In bed, it stays exactly where I put it, even while the thrusting motion is running. When I walk around, the antenna can occasionally twist slightly causing the toy to rotate a bit to one side, but this doesn’t change the stimulation at all, and it stayed fully inserted – I’m not worried about it falling out at all.
Most of my other motion-based wearables are only safe for use in bed because the moving mechanism causes the toy to work its way out, but this is not an issue for the Vulse.
Like all egg vibrators, it’s not adjustable, because it simply slides into place. There are no hinges or bendable arms – eggs are more of a one-size-fits-all design.
Comfort
The Ferri is comfortable to wear in bed and during light activity, but its firm body and focused contact surface keep it just behind the most comfortable panty vibrators I’ve tested.
When walking or going up and down stairs, the Ferri shifts a small amount side-to-side, and that movement translates into a little extra clit stimulation, but also a little less comfort. The toy is small enough that I never have to adjust my walk, and the slight wiggle doesn’t bother me personally. But it’s noticeable, and it isn’t something you can really control.
In bed, it’s very comfortable. There are no sharp seams, and the slight curve lays the toy along my pubic area so it doesn’t pull off or tap uncomfortably as I shift around. The Ferri has no flex or squish, though, and the contact area is small. When I roll onto my side, I feel some pressure as my legs push the firm toy into my body. It’s not painful, just something I notice. And the firm, focused shape is what allows the vibes to transfer so well.
If comfort is the priority, both the NS Novelties Techno Lucy (app-controlled) and the VeDO Niki (remote-controlled) are more comfortable options. Just be aware, the Lucy’s app is much worse, and the Niki isn’t quite as strong as the Ferri.
The Vulse is comfortable in bed as long as you like some girth. Though it has some oddities you have to get used to.
In bed, it feels more natural than the Lelo Hula Beads for me: it settles into the right spot, and importantly – it slides up high enough that it does not press uncomfortably against my vaginal opening.
It still provides a bit of a stretch and bladder pressure like other eggs of this size, so it’s best for those who enjoy some girth, or prefer shorter sessions.
When moving around, the straight (but flexible) antenna can be annoying, especially when walking or lying on my stomach. I prefer the curved, form-fitting antennas of the newer Lush models like the Lush 4, because they don’t tap unpredictably against my clit or stick out as much. And I personally find the thrusting motion more ditracting than enjoyable when walking around so I still prefer vibration-only eggs for that.
If you prioritize comfort, the Lovense Lush Mini is my favorite egg because it’s smaller and doesn’t press as much against my bladder. And the curved antenna fits snug against my body.
But if you want a motion-based toy, the Lovense Vulse is reasonably comfortable in bed and while moving.
Noise
While the Lovense Ferri isn’t the quietest panty vibrator I’ve tested, it’s reasonably discreet.
It was just below the most-discreet tier of wearables in our Background Noise Masking subtest. In this subtest, I wear the vibrator and my partner listens from three feet away while we play pink noise through a speaker at preset volumes (56, 62, and 68 dBA). One of the Ferri’s oddities is that the lower settings have harsher, more uneven sound. Whereas the higher settings vibrate more cleanly and are less noticeable – even though their decibel readings are nearly identical at around 43 dBA each. So the Ferri’s middle and high vibration strengths were masked by our quietest background audio (56 dBA of pink noise). But to mask the lowest vibration setting, we had to increase the pink noise to our moderate level (62 dBA).
The Ferri had a similar pattern behind a closed bedroom door. For this part of the noise test, my partner listens from the other side of the bedroom door while I use the toy in bed. I use it like a handheld toy since wearing dampens sound, and some people want the flexibility to safely re-position the toy or move it around. Holding the toy instead of wearing it gives us the most conservative results.
My partner couldn’t hear it on low or high power. But he heard the middle setting – really only when I was moving the toy so the sound was changing. The middle has that more jarring quality and enough strength that it draws your ear; high power settles into a cleaner, consistent pitch – which is why high power is actually more discreet than the middle behind a closed door.
If you want a more discreet panty vibrator without giving up much power, the VeDO Niki (remote-controlled) is meaningfully quieter and is another one of the strongest panty vibrators I’ve tested.
The Lovense Vulse is louder than any of my other egg vibrators, so it’s not a great option if discretion is important to you.
The issue is the high-pitched thrusting motor. The back and forth motion creates an inconsistent sound that’s much more noticeable than the consistent, lower-pitched hum of vibration-only eggs like the Lovense Lush 4.
In our Background Noise Masking testing, I wore the Vulse while my partner listened from three feet away with pink noise playing at quiet, moderate, and loud volumes. The Vulse’s low power was masked in every condition, but middle power was still audible with quiet and moderate background noise, and high power stayed audible even with our loudest masking audio.
I also have my partner listen from behind a closed bedroom door, while I use the vibrator in bed. My partner could hear the Vulse’s high power, and could still barely hear it when I turned a box fan on in the bedroom. Music was the only thing that masked it.
The Vulse’s noise is quieter than the demo video above once worn, but certainly still loud. If you’re easily annoyed by sound or need something quiet, the Lovense Lush 4 is the better option.
Battery Life
The Lovense Ferri lasted 168 minutes during our test continuously vibrating on its top power level – the longest of any panty vibrator. Plus, in actual use you’ll likely use the lower and middle settings too which will extend the battery life.
The Vulse has a sub-par battery life of about 60 minutes at max power in our testing. That is enough for most use in the bedroom, but short if you plan to wear it around. Egg vibrators designed to wear around typically last longer.
If you prioritize extended wear or often forget to charge between uses, the Lovense Lush 4 lasts twice as long.
Cleaning
The Lovense Ferri is easy to clean. It’s IPX7 waterproof, so you can rinse it under a running faucet or fully submerge it in soapy water without worry.
The Vulse is very easy to clean because it is IPX7 waterproof. You can rinse it under running water or fully submerge it while scrubbing with soap and water.
Build Quality
The Ferri’s build quality is excellent – I’ve had mine since 2020 and it’s still working exactly as expected. The toy is smooth, firm silicone on the side in contact with your body, with some plastic and magnetic portions on the other side. The magnet that anchors the toy is small but very strong. The seams are all tight, and the single button has a satisfying press without needing much pressure to activate.
The Vulse feels well built. It is covered in smooth silicone, the antenna feels sturdy, and the thrusting motor holds up to pressure without slowing or stalling.
The high-pitch of the thrusting motor can be annoying and doesn’t necessarily sound high-quality. But I’ve owned this toy since 2023, and it continues to operate as expected.
