In the next sections, I’ll cover the Ida Wave’s clit vibration power and rumbliness.

Here’s the main conclusion:

The Ida Wave has one of the best clit motors of any dual-stim wearable. It’s got the most rumbly clit motor of the dual-stim wearables I’ve tested, and has great power. It’s strong enough for me to orgasm hands-free, and while some others have even more strength, the broad external arm helps the vibrations reach my clit more effectively than many stronger toys.

Closeup on the Ida Wave’s broad external arm.

Like all egg vibrators, the VeDo Kiwi only stimulates your G-spot – not your clit. For clit stimulation, a panty vibrator is the better type of wearable for you. See all our recommendations for the best panty vibrators here.

An egg vibrator is a good option if:

  1. You enjoy internal vibrations, G-spot pressure, or fullness on its own. (Many people need clit stimulation to orgasm, but internal stimulation can still feel good and be great foreplay.)
  2. You plan to pair it with clit stimulation from something else.

I can’t orgasm even with our strongest G-spot vibrator alone, but when I pair it with clitoral stimulation, it makes my orgasms feel more full.

Clit Vibrations: Power, Range, and Transfer Effectiveness

Max Power Rating 8.1 N/A
Power Range Rating 9.0 N/A
Vibration Transfer Effectiveness Rating 8.9 N/A
Power vs Frequency Graph
How Strong Is Each Power?

The Ida Wave has strong clit vibrations – strong enough for me to orgasm hands-free. Its ten power levels span from a very gentle 1.0 up to 8.5 out of 10, with gradual steps for a comfortable, slow build.

The vibrations transfer really well to my clit too. With hands-free vibrators, the toy’s shape and fit have to naturally carry the motor’s strength to your body. The Ida Wave’s design does this very well: the tight angle of the internal arm pushes the clit arm firmly against my body, and the broad shape distributes this pressure evenly and consistently (and very comfortably).

Ida Wave Internal and External Arm
The tight angle between the internal arm (left) and external arm (right) presses the external arm’s motor tightly, but comfortably against the clit.

Of the dual-stim wearables I’ve tested, the Lovense Dolce and Lovense Flexer reach higher raw top powers, but neither delivers their power to the clit as effectively as the Ida Wave.

Clit Vibrations: Frequency (Rumbliness)

Rumbliness Rating 8.2 N/A
Power vs Frequency Graph
Frequency on Low Power 46.5 Hz N/A
Median Frequency 68.1 Hz N/A
Frequency on High Power 83.8 Hz N/A
Rumbliness & Power Balance 8.8 N/A
Beat Sensation N/A N/A

We rate wearables with rumbly vibrations higher than buzzy ones because rumbly is what most people prefer. But it’s definitely a personal preference, so consider what you like.

The Ida Wave’s clit motor is one of the most rumbly of my dual-stimulation wearables. Its lowest power setting is extremely rumbly at 46 Hz, the middle of its range is moderately rumbly at 68 Hz, and its top setting reaches neutral at 84 Hz – it never crosses into buzzy territory. My other dual-stim wearables are buzzier: the Lovense Dolce starts rumbly on low (49 Hz) but climbs into extremely buzzy at its top, and the Lovense Flexer is extremely buzzy at every power level.

The Ida Wave has a more rumbly clit motor than the Dolce (click on the Dolce’s G-spot motor under the graph to remove it from the graph and show only the clit motors).

Rumbly vibrations travel deeper into your body and tend to feel less ticklish than buzzy ones, which is part of why many people prefer them. While I can orgasm just as well from buzzy wearables as rumbly ones, the Ida Wave will be best for those who prioritize rumbliness.

In the next sections, I’ll cover the VeDO Kiwi’s vibration power and rumbliness in-depth.

Here’s the main conclusion:

The VeDO Kiwi is very stimulating. It’s the most rumbly egg vibrator and very strong.

If you value power and more G-spot pressure, a few pricier eggs have a bit more strength and a shape that presses more into your G-spot, such as the Lovense Lush 4 (app-controlled) and We-Vibe Jive 2 (mostly remote-controlled). If you care more about rumbliness, the Kiwi is better.

G-spot Vibrations: Power, Range, and Transfer Effectiveness

Max Power Rating N/A 8.3
Power Range Rating N/A 8.6
Vibration Transfer Effectiveness Rating N/A 8.9
Power vs Frequency Graph
How Strong Is Each Power?

The VeDO Kiwi is a very strong egg vibrator, reaching a top power of 8.0 out of 10. Its vibrations are also unusually deep and rumbly, so that strength feels rich, full, and impactful.

It has six power levels with a wide range, starting at a gentle 1.0 for warmup and building to its strong top setting.

Side View of VeDO Kiwi and Lovense Lush 4 and We-Vibe Jive 2
The Kiwi’s cylindrical shape (left) doesn’t press as firmly against the G-spot as the more bulbous, contoured Lush 4 (middle) or Jive 2 (right).

The Kiwi doesn’t press as directly into my G-spot as contoured eggs like the Lovense Lush 4 or We-Vibe Jive 2. Its slimmer, cylindrical shape spreads the vibrations along more of the front wall instead of targeting one precise spot. But because the vibrations are so deep and rumbly, they still transfer well and feel very stimulating.

The Lush 4 and Jive 2 offer more targeted G-spot pressure, and are stronger overall. But the Kiwi has plenty of power for most people – especially at roughly half the price.

G-spot Vibrations: Frequency (Rumbliness)

Rumbliness Rating N/A 9.4
Power vs Frequency Graph
Frequency on Low Power N/A 30.5 Hz
Median Frequency N/A 46.3 Hz
Frequency on High Power N/A 69.2 Hz
Rumbliness & Power Balance N/A 10.0
Beat Sensation N/A N/A

The VeDO Kiwi has the most rumbly vibrations of any wearable vibrator I’ve tested.

For G-spot stimulation, rumbly vibrations matter more than they do for clitoral. With clit vibrators, you’re placing the vibe directly on a highly sensitive area. But G-spot vibrations have to travel farther through tissue to reach more nerve-rich regions, and lower-frequency rumbly vibrations travel through your body much more effectively.

All three are excellent options, but the Kiwi is the most rumbly of these top picks.

The Kiwi’s vibrations remain rumbly throughout its full power range. Most of the settings are extremely rumbly. And even the top setting, where most egg vibrators cross into buzzy territory, including the pricier Lovense Lush 4 and We-Vibe Jive 2, measures 69.24 Hz, which is moderately rumbly. Vibrators always become buzzier as you turn them up, but the Kiwi never crosses into the buzzy range.

The deep rumbliness combined with the Kiwi’s strong power makes for impactful stimulation.

G-spot Stimulation from Motion

Target Accuracy 9.0 N/A
Motion Under Load 7.5 N/A
Motion Type Rotation (Orbital Shaft) N/A
Max Speed 68 CPM N/A
Min Speed 22 CPM N/A

I really enjoy the Ida Wave’s G-spot motion and it hits my G-spot well, but it’s somewhat subtle – like gentle fingering. It adds depth to my orgasms driven by the clit motor, but isn’t the main event on its own.

This rotational motion is one of my favorites, because this angle can direct pressure against the front wall where my G-spot is. Of the motion-based wearables I’ve tested, the Ida Wave hits the G-spot best: the “fingering” motion of the Lovense Flexer actually creates more clit movement than internal movement. And in-and-out thrusting toys like the Lovense Vulse feel good but don’t press on my G-spot specifically. The Ida Wave’s motion is also more stimulating than the Lelo Hula Beads which have too little range of motion to reach my G-spot reliably.

The different motion types of the Lelo Ida Wave, Lovense Flexer, Lovense Vulse and Lelo Hula Beads.

The stimulation is on the gentle side because the internal arm is flexible, so the pressure is light. If you like substantial force on your G-spot, handheld G-spot toys like the We-Vibe Nova 2 or Lovense Nora allow for much more leveraging pressure. But what I enjoy about the Ida Wave is that it’s effortless.

Lelo Ida Wave and Lovense Nora - two rotating remote control vibrators

I can let the clit vibrations bring me to orgasm hands-free while the G-spot motion makes the orgasm stronger and more full.

App Control: Main Takeaways

App Control 6.7 N/A
Close-Range Features Rating 6.2 N/A
Long-Distance Features Rating 2.6 N/A
Close-Range Connectivity Rating 7.8 N/A
Long-Distance Connectivity Rating 7.4 N/A

In the next sections, I’ll cover the Lelo app’s close-range features, long-distance features, and connectivity in detail.

Here’s the main conclusion: Lelo’s app is clean, easy to use, and reliable, but it’s basic compared with the best vibrator apps.

Lelo Ida Wave Close Range Play Options in App
The control options available in the Lelo app during Close Range play.

Close-range and long-distance controls works well for adjusting intensity, choosing preset patterns, or controlling power through your phone’s movement. But there’s no custom pattern creation, sound sync, multi-toy control, or independent control over each motor. Long-distance connections are reliable, but the experience is bare-bones with no video calling or photo sharing. Bluetooth connectivity is solid during normal use, though heavy body interference can cause dropouts.

If basic, reliable control is enough and you primarily want the Ida Wave for its comfortable motion and rumbly clit vibrations, the app works well. If a feature-rich app and engaging long-distance experience are priorities, go with a Lovense dual-stimulation wearable like the Lovense Dolce or the Lovense Flexer if you still want motion.

The VeDo Kiwi isn’t controlled through an app. App control lets you create custom patterns, control multiple motors or toys, play long-distance, and lets a controlling partner see exactly what your toy is doing. If that matters to you, see our app-controlled recommendations in these guides:

Other Bonus Features 7.5 N/A
Noteworthy Bonus Modes Motion Control N/A

The Lelo app’s close-range features are clean, easy to use, and work well – but they’re very basic. It’s essentially a glorified remote control which can be good if you like simplicity.

You can adjust intensity, choose preset patterns, and use Lelo’s unique motion-control feature like their physical remotes provide. But it lacks the advanced features better apps offer, like custom pattern creation, music/sound sync, separate control over each motor, and the ability to control multiple toys at once.

Lelo Ida Wave Manual Mode in App
Manual Mode in the Lelo app.

Manual mode is just a picture of Lelo’s remote and + / − buttons to raise or lower intensity. It works well, but with 10 power levels, it takes lots of repeated taps to reach high power. Better apps like Lovense’s feel smoother because you can tap or drag directly to the intensity you want instead of clicking a button several times.

Lelo Ida Wave Screwing Mode in App
Screwing mode adjusts intensity based on how far you twist/tilt your phone.

For faster intensity changes, use the Screwing mode. This adjusts the toy’s power based on your phone’s tilt – level for gentle vibrations, closer to 90 degrees for stronger. This is also a great way to control your toy without staring at a screen.

Lelo Ida Wave Shaking Mode in App
Shaking mode adjusts intensity based on how fast you shake your phone.

Shaking changes intensity based on how hard you shake the phone, but I think it takes too much energy, so it’s not very useful.

Lelo Two Motor Patterns in App
Patterns available in the Lelo app.

On all 3 screens, you can select a pattern and control its intensity. The pattern names are vague like “Delighted” or “Overjoyed” instead of descriptive like “Waves” or “Pulses”. And the app shows small waveform icons for each motor, but you don’t see them until you’ve selected the pattern. So you have to select and try each pattern to know what it feels like.

It’s missing more advanced functionality other apps provide. There’s no custom pattern creation, no music or sound-reactive control, no multi-toy control, and no individual control over each motor. Each pattern in the Ida Wave’s app assigns a preset waveform to both motors, and some Modes give the clit and G-spot motors different patterns. But any intensity adjustment applies to both motors together, so you can’t turn up the clit vibrations while keeping the G-spot motion slow for example. Better apps like Lovense allow individual control of each motor.

One small annoyance: the app requires an account even for close-range solo use. It usually stays logged in, but it sometimes signs me out, which is frustrating when I’m ready to use the toy.

For simple, reliable close-range control, the Ida Wave’s app is good. But if you want more advanced app features, the Lovense Dolce is a good dual-stimulation wearable with a better app.

Lelo’s long-distance experience is very basic.

It works for offering a partner simple, reliable control of your toy from anywhere in the world, but it doesn’t have the communication features that make long-distance feel more like sharing an experience together: no video or voice calls, no saved partners, no photo or voice messaging, no custom pattern creation, and you can only send text messages when you’re both in an active session.

Lelo App Create or Join a Room
You have to create a new room each time you want to share control.

To start, you create a new Room and send your partner the code outside the app. That’s fine for one-off sessions, but you have to create a new room every time. There are no saved partner profiles, online status, auto-accept settings, or permissions. So with a regular partner, you have to start from scratch each time.

Lelo Ida Wave App Long Distance Call Controls
Your partner’s control options and view during a “call” – there is no video call option.

Once connected, the controlling partner gets a version of the same Play screen used for close-range control: they will use the Manual mode, and the Screwing/Shaking motion modes to contol your toy. Lelo does add two useful long-distance controls: a drag-to-position dot for setting intensity quickly, and a voice-control mode that changes power based on sound picked up by the phone’s mic. Both make it quicker to set a specific intensity than tapping + / − repeatedly.

Lelo App Text Messaging During Long Distance Call
You can send text messages back and forth during a call, but the message history is not saved, so you can’t see it anymore after the call is over.

But it lacks lots of communication features that make most long-distance toys feel fun and connecting. There’s only text messaging, with no message history once the room ends, so you can’t go back and reread fun messages. Video or voice calls have to happen in another app, like FaceTime or Zoom. But if you each have a Lelo toy, you can each control the other’s toy.

If long-distance play is a priority, the Lovense Dolce or Lovense Flexer is the better dual-stim wearable. Lovense has in-app video, messaging, saved partners, permission settings, and detailed controls so your partner can make custom patterns. Lelo is fine for basic control-sharing, but Lovense is much stronger for ongoing partner play.

The Ida Wave’s close-range Bluetooth is good for solo use: pairing is reliable, commands consistently go through, and the range is strong – 215 feet in our test without any blockage. It can be sensitive to too much body tissue coming between the phone and toy, but this doesn’t happen much in normal use.

The first time you connect, you’ll add the toy to your list which takes a few clicks. After that first one-time pairing, I just tap the toy from the My Toy list, tap Play, and it connects within a few seconds.

The Ida Wave stays connected well when the phone and toy have a clear path, but Bluetooth struggles when a lot of body tissue sits between them. In our body-interference test, it handled light body interference but dropped at the two harder angles with more material blocking the signal.

For most people this won’t really be an issue with the Ida Wave. Our test runs harsher than real wear. The Ida Wave’s receiver is in the external arm and often will have a relatively clear shot – especially since this toy is best in bed rather than wearing around where your partner might be at an odd angle like controlling your toy from behind you.

Lelo Ida Wave On-Toy Controls Photo
To re-pair, you often have to press the on-toy button.

If the connection drops between your phone and the toy, the app won’t automatically reconnect when the signal returns. You have to go back to the toy’s connection page, and press the physical button on the Ida Wave itself to re-pair. Since the button’s on the external arm, it’s not much trouble, but still takes effort.

Connecting in long-distance mode through a “room” is reliable because your partner’s phone isn’t talking directly to the toy. Your phone controls the Ida Wave over Bluetooth, and your partner’s phone connects to yours over Wi-Fi or cell data. As long as your phone stays near the toy and both internet connections are decent, the long-distance connection works well.

One small long-distance quirk: if the controlling partner locks their phone or leaves the app for more than about 30 seconds, they drop out of the Room and have to re-enter the code. The wearer’s connection doesn’t drop – control just pauses until they rejoin.

For most typical uses, the Ida Wave’s connection is solid. But if the best connectivity is important to you, the Lovense Dolce or Flexer is a better pick. They handle tougher body-blocking angles better, and are stronger overall for app-controlled play.

Remote Control: Main Takeaways

Remote Control N/A 8.7
Features Rating N/A 8.1
Connectivity Rating N/A 9.1

The Lelo Ida Wave doesn’t include a physical remote control. A remote lets you adjust the toy by feel – without pulling out your phone. Though there’s other downsides like less depth and no visual feedback to help your partner know what your toy’s doing. If you want to consider options with physical remotes, see our recommendations in these guides:

In the next sections, I’ll cover the VeDO Kiwi’s remote features and connectivity.

Here’s the main conclusion:

The Kiwi’s remote is great for solo use or same-room partnered control, with great intensity controls and a reliable connection, even through body interference. The only downside is its short connection range at about 16 ft.

If you need longer range with a physical remote for across-the-room play, consider the We-Vibe Jive 2. Or if you’re okay with an app instead, try the Lovense Lush 4. If you don’t need a longer range, the Kiwi’s remote is excellent.

The VeDO Kiwi’s remote features are great with a few minor downsides – most of which are typical of remotes compared to apps.

Power control is fast and direct – you can move forward and backward through the six power levels with dedicated + and – buttons.

Pattern navigation uses a single-button cycle loop – clicking through the ten patterns one at a time, with no way to go backward to a previous pattern. In practice this doesn’t matter that much, since most people stay on steady vibrations rather than cycling through patterns. You can also adjust the intensity of each pattern.

VeDO Kiwi and We-Vibe Jive 2 Remote Buttons Side View
The Kiwi’s remote buttons are not very raised, so they’re harder to feel than the Jive 2’s remote.

The remote is comfortable to hold, but the buttons are less raised than the best remotes. So I can’t easily tell which button is which by feel like I can with some, like the We-Vibe Jive 2‘s remote. That’s something you get used to as you use it more.

Like most remotes, the Kiwi’s gives your partner just a faint blink when you press a button – no way to tell what setting your toy is on or whether the vibrations actually changed. That’s fine if you’re using the Kiwi yourself and many partners won’t mind.

Others find it less engaging when they can’t tell what your toy is doing and what you’re actually feeling. App control gives your partner real-time visuals of the toy’s vibrations, which makes controlling it feel more engaging. If that’s a priority for you, try the Lovense Lush 4. Or Lush Mini if you prefer slimmer toys.

The VeDO Kiwi’s remote connectivity is excellent and reliable as long as your partner is close-by.

Body tissue between a remote and toy is typically the main thing that breaks a remote’s signal during partner control, but the Kiwi holds up well to this. Our body-interference test simulates this scenario at three progressively challenging angles, and the Kiwi holds a stable connection through all of them. Our test runs harsher than typical real-world conditions, so partner-controlled play should stay reliable in practice.

Button presses register with barely any delay – the toy reacts the moment my finger leaves the button, keeping the rhythm of play intact. And theres no reconnection routine required when starting to play – the remote is always connected.

The remote reached 16 feet in our open-air range test – measured with clear line-of-sight and no body interference – which is the shortest range of my wearable vibrators. That’s still enough to comfortably cover typical nearby same-room partnered control or solo use. But across-the-room play is trickier.

VeDO Kiwi and Remote with We-Vibe Jive 2 and Remote with Lovense Lush 4 and App
If the Kiwi’s short remote-distance is an issue, try the Jive 2 (middle) or Lovense Lush 4 (right).

If you want a longer remote range without switching to apps, the We-Vibe Jive 2 reached about 125 feet in the same test – roughly eight times the Kiwi’s range. And if you’re okay with app control instead, the Lovense Lush 4 reached 345 feet or can connect over the internet, so distance stops being a factor.

Like most wearables, the Ida Wave’s on-toy controls are limited by design – you’ll mostly control it through the app. The button is a single-button cycle for 7 vibration patterns, with only one vibration power level accessible on-toy. The rotating internal arm spins at one fixed speed regardless of which setting you select.

For the full 10 power settings and control over the arm’s speed, you have to use the app.

If you do have to use the on-toy button, the button placement is good. On most wearables, pressing the button often means pushing the toy uncomfortably against you or removing it completely first. But the Ida Wave’s button is on the side of the external arm.

Lovense Dolce On-Toy Controls Photo
Most toys’ buttons are on the top of the external arm, as shown here with the Lovense Dolce. Pressing the button(s) pushes the toy against your body, which can be annoying. I prefer the Ida Wave’s side-button placement.

It’s comfortable and easy to press, and doesn’t push the toy uncomfortably against your body, making it decent as a backup if you don’t feel like using the app.

Like most insertable eggs, the Kiwi’s on-toy controls are limited – but even moreso than most. Its single button is on the egg body itself, which means it’s inaccessible when wearing the toy. If you want to adjust it during wear, the remote is the only option. This also means you have to turn it on before inserting.

When you do use the on-toy button, it cycles through one steady vibration and nine patterns at a single fixed power level. To adjust the vibration power, you have to use the remote control.

That said, the button is more usable if you’re holding the Kiwi externally and using it like a bullet vibrator for clit stimulation. While the one-button cycling controls aren’t ideal, they’re good enough for occasional external use.

Secure Fit (Heavy Activity) 3.0 10.0
Adjustment Type Flexible None
Shape Degrees of Freedom 0 0

The Ida Wave is the least secure-fitting dual-stim wearable I’ve tested. I still really enjoy this toy, but you can’t wear it around. And even in bed, I have to make occasional adjustments.

The rotating internal arm is small and flexible while the external arm is broad and heavy, so the toy’s own weight slowly works the internal arm out. It’s flexible, but not adjustable, so there are no hinges to actually re-shape the toy to make it more secure.

In bed, the Ida Wave stays workable but never feels fully reliably anchored. I can roll, shift positions, even kneel, but I find myself adjusting it or pushing the internal arm back in a few times per session. The clit vibrations are stimulating, but for the best experience, plan to use your hand every so often to re-position it. If you’ll find that annoying, dual-stimulation toys without motion like the Lovense Dolce are much more secure.

Lelo Ida Wave and Lovense Dolce Internal Arm Comparison
The Ida Wave’s (left) slim internal arm and heavy external arm makes it easy for the toy to slip out. Thicker internal arms, like the Dolce’s (right) take more effort to get in, but also take a firm tug to pull back out.

The Ida Wave is not designed to be worn around. When I walked around with it in, I had to keep pushing it back into position; only my underwear stopped it from falling all the way out. It also bumps against the inside of my legs, making walking awkward. With any sort of heavier activity like running or jumping the Ida Wave pulls most of the way out.

Lelo Ida Wave with Lovense Ferri and Lovense Lush 4
Panty vibrators and egg vibrators like the Lovense Ferri (left) and Lovense Lush 4 (right) are better designed to wear while walking around.

If walking around or moving with the toy in is part of what you want from a wearable, the Ida Wave isn’t built for it – and really none of my strong dual-stimulation wearables are easy to wear around. A panty vibrator like the Lovense Ferri or egg vibrator like the Lovense Lush 4 are much more secure. You can even wear both of these at the same time and control them through the Lovense app.

The VeDO Kiwi has a great secure fit, staying put at any activity level.

That’s typical for an egg vibrator. Once the toy is fully inserted, your own anatomy holds it in place naturally. The kind of secure-fit problems more common with external wearables don’t really apply to eggs. Most of the eggs I’ve tested fit just as solidly across every activity tier.

The Ida Wave is much more comfortable in bed than it is for walking around. Lying down, the slim internal arm is pretty comfortable, and the broad external arm distributes pressure evenly. But once I’m standing or walking, the toy starts to pull out, which can make it pinch uncomfortably.

Lelo Ida Wave showing how broad the clit arm is

In bed, the internal arm is slim enough that it doesn’t limit my movement as much as more bulbous internal arms. The external arm is broad enough that I can’t fully close my legs around it, but my legs help to keep it in place. And this breadth helps spread the pressure out instead of pinching, like the narrower Lovense Flexer can.

The Ida Wave’s broad external arm anchors the toy against the internal arm’s rotation motion. This gentle rocking and broad pressure is very comfortable.
The Flexer’s slimmer external arm moves much more, which can be distracting or overstimulating to some.

Walking around is the weak point. As the internal arm slowly works its way out, it can press uncomfortably against my pubic bone. So if mobile comfort is your priority, try a panty vibrator like the Lovense Ferri or egg vibrator like the Lovense Lush Mini instead. Or try wearing them both at the same time for dual-stimulation that’s more comfy to wear around.

The Ida Wave is best treated as an in-bed wearable.

The VeDO Kiwi is very comfortable.

It’s cylindrical shape is slimmer than bulbous eggs like the Lovense Lush 4 and We-Vibe Jive 2, which makes it easy to insert and avoids the extra pressure against my bladder that those bulbous eggs can produce. I’m able to wear this one longer than wider eggs without becoming uncomfortable.

The slimmer, cylindrical shape of the Kiwi doesn’t target the G-spot as well, but allows me to wear it for longer periods without it becoming uncomfortable against my bladder like the Lush 4 (middle) and Jive 2 (right) eventually do.

Lying in bed I can feel a faint tingle from the vibrations traveling into the pull-string, but I don’t find it distracting.

During light activity – walking around the house, going up and down stairs – I notice a little pressure at the inside of the vaginal entrance since this egg is a little taller than some, but nothing distracting. And the pull-string is hardly noticeable when held tight to my body by clothing.

If maximum comfort is a priority, the Lovense Lush Mini is even more comfortable because it’s shorter and the bulb sits a bit higher up in the vagina. But most people will be happy with the Kiwi’s comfort.

The Lelo Ida Wave is very discreet – especially surprising since toys with motion are typically loud.

When held in the open air, the decibel readings are somewhat loud on paper – about 45 dBA on low and 56 dBA on high. But once you’re actually wearing the toy, the body dampens both the vibration and the motion noise substantially.

Motion-based wearables are typically louder – the Lovense Flexer here is a prime example.

The Ida Wave was fully masked at every power level in our Background Noise Masking subtest. In this part of the test, I wear the toy while my partner listens from three feet away and we play pink noise through a speaker at quiet, moderate, and loud volumes (56, 62, and 68 dBA). He couldn’t hear the Ida Wave at any strength under any of our three tested background volumes – and even when he stepped right next to me to check the sound, he could only pick up the vibrations, not the rotating motion at all.

Behind a closed bedroom door, the Ida Wave was also inaudible. For this part of the test, my partner listens directly outside our bedroom door while I use the toy in bed. I use it like a handheld toy since wearing dampens sound, and some people want the flexibility to safely re-position wearables or use some of them handheld. Holding the toy instead of wearing it gives us the most conservative results. He couldn’t hear the Ida Wave at any setting from behind the door.

The Ida Wave is the quietest of my strong dual-stimulation wearables.

The Kiwi is a very quiet egg vibrator.

Decibel readings on low power were too quiet for our sound level meter to pick up above the room’s 35 dBA ambient noise. On high, the Kiwi reached about 43 dBA – still quiet overall.

It’s in the most discreet group of wearables I’ve tested for our Background Noise Masking subtest. My partner listens from three feet away while we play pink noise at quiet, moderate, and loud volumes (56, 62, and 68 dBA). He couldn’t hear the Kiwi at any vibration strength under any of the three volumes. It is definitely audible in our room without any background audio playing – but every wearable vibrator I’ve tested is audible in a fully silent room, no matter how gentle and quiet its vibrations are.

For the closed-door test, my partner stands directly outside our bedroom door while I use the Kiwi in bed. I hold it rather than wear it for this subtest, since wearing dampens sound and some people want the flexibility to use it clitorally – holding gives the most conservative results. My partner couldn’t hear it on low or medium power. On high, he could just barely make it out, and only when the house was completely silent – even light ambient sound, like cars passing outside, masked it.

Battery Life

Battery Life on High Power 135 minutes 75 minutes
Charging Cable Round Plug Round Plug

The Lelo Ida Wave lasted 135 minutes at top power in our testing – the longest battery life of any dual-stimulation wearable I’ve tested. And since you’ll spend plenty of time on lower and middle settings too, real-world runtime is typically longer. That’s plenty of time, even if you sometimes forget to charge between uses.

The Kiwi’s battery life is decent. It lasted 75 minutes running continuously at its highest power in our test, which is shorter than many higher-end G-spot eggs. Since most people won’t use the highest setting the entire time, real-use runtime will likely be longer.

If battery life is a priority, the Lovense Lush 4 lasted about 120 minutes in our test – roughly 60% longer than the Kiwi, but at about twice the price. The Svakom Phoenix Neo 2 lasted much longer at about 258 minutes, more than three times the Kiwi’s runtime, while staying in a similar price range, but it’s worse overall.

Cleaning

Cleaning Rating 10.0 5.9

Waterproof Rating IPX7 Unknown

The Lelo Ida Wave is very easy to clean. It’s IPX7 waterproof, so you can rinse it under a running faucet or fully submerge it in soapy water without worrying about water damage.

Cleaning the Kiwi is simple in practice, but I rated it conservatively because I couldn’t confirm its exact waterproof rating. VeDO lists it as “splashproof,” which usually means IPX5 or IPX6 – safe to rinse under a faucet – but can also mean IPX4, which is not faucet-safe. I emailed VeDO to confirm the rating and didn’t hear back, so I scored it as if it should not be rinsed directly.

In real use, I do rinse most of the Kiwi under the faucet while keeping water away from the charging port. Lube and debris can collect at the pull-cord/charging port seam over time, so I periodically unscrew it and clean inside with a damp cloth.

Build Quality

Build Quality Rating 9.0 8.0

VeDo Kiwi Build Quality

The Ida Wave’s build quality is excellent. I’ve owned my Ida Wave since 2022, and it’s continued to operate as expected. The silicone is smooth, the shiny plastic top has stayed scratch-free with normal use, and the seams between materials are tight. The flex point between the internal and external arms feels solidly built, with no loosening or signs of strain.

The Kiwi feels well-built overall, and I’ve had it since 2022. It has smooth, firm silicone with a small plastic ring where the pull cord attaches, which unscrews to reveal the charging port. The seam feels tight when closed, but lube and debris can still collect there, so it needs occasional detailed cleaning.

The pull cord is a slim, slightly stretchy loop that has held up well. The toy and remote buttons are easy to press with a clear click, and while the plastic remote feels very lightweight and cheap, it works reliably.
