Our Verdict

The We-Vibe Wand is an excellent premium wand vibrator. Its overall performance is comparable to other wands in its price range, but the We-Vibe Wand’s distinctive features will set it apart for some people. These include app control, a unique joystick, and two wand attachments that come with it.

The We-Vibe Wand has a great power range and rumbliness. It begins more softly than other full-sized wands. And its joystick allows you to increase power smoothly and gradually to reach its maximum strength.

Its top power is less extreme than other wands in its price range, like the Magic Wand Rechargeable or BMS PalmPower Extreme. But it’s still way stronger than I need, and I find its highest settings comfortable. I typically find more power than this overwhelming.

The app control is just okay. Connectivity is reliable, but the features are basic, there’s some delay in responsiveness, and it’s less intuitive than the Lovense Domi 2 (a better app-controlled wand if a quality app is your top priority).

The We-Vibe Wand’s elegant curved shape and tall, thin head make it easy to leverage for firm pressure. And the body-safe silicone feels comfortable and luxurious. It’s a good option for those who want an elegant, feature-rich wand and enjoy gentle-to-powerful (but not extreme) vibrations.

Table of Contents

The We-Vibe Wand is a premium, full-sized wand vibrator. It was unavailable for a few years, but We-Vibe began selling it again in September 2023. It competes with premium wands like the Magic Wand Rechargeable and BMS PalmPower Extreme. It’s also one of the only app-controlled wand vibrators alongside the Lovense Domi 2 (an app-controlled mini wand), although the We-Vibe app is worse than Lovense’s.

It has a unique joystick to gradually and continuously adjust power. It has 9 vibration patterns, is coated in silky silicone, and is IPX7 waterproof, so it can be completely submerged. It also has an optional Smart Silence feature, which prevents it from vibrating when not in contact with skin. A nearby or long-distance partner can control the We-Vibe Wand through the app. It uses a standard USB magnetic recharging cable that matches We-Vibe’s other products. And it comes with two wand attachments for clitoral or penis stimulation.

Compare Wand Vibrators

The We-Vibe Wand is excellent but has slightly lower overall performance than other premium wands – primarily if you care about exceptional power or rumbliness. For instance, the Fun Factory Vim is more rumbly. And the Magic Wand Rechargeable and PalmPower Extreme are more powerful.

But the We-Vibe Wand has unique features that make it a good value and worth considering. It has two attachments, so you don’t need to spend extra for variety. And it has app control for more comprehensive control or long-distance play.

Vibrations: Power And Range

Max Power Rating

7.5

What is it:

How strong the wand vibrator’s highest power level feels.

When does it matter:

If you prefer the extreme power some wands offer or want to make sure your wand at least reaches a certain strength.

Scoring Factors:

Subjectively Scored

Power Range Rating:

8.7

What is it:

How wide the range is between the highest and lowest power levels, and whether it has enough power levels that steps between levels aren’t too large.

When does it matter:

A broad power range is usually important because it enables more versatile stimulation. You can start on softer levels when your body isn’t ready for crazy strong power. But when you want more strength, you can turn it up high.

Power vs Frequency Graph:

What is it:

A graph of each wand vibrator’s power vs frequency across all of its power levels.

When does it matter:

If you want a detailed look at the full power and frequency characteristics of any particular wand vibrator. This will tell you how strong and how rumbly each setting of the wand feels.

How Strong Is Each Power?

  • Power ≤ 3: Comparable to the vibration strength of smaller vibrators like bullets.
  • Power between 3 and 4.5: Comparable to …

(Expand Descriptions)

  • Power ≤ 3: Comparable to the vibration strength of smaller vibrators like bullets.
  • Power between 3 and 4.5: Comparable to the vibration strength of mid-sized, non-wand vibrators like the Lelo Mona 2, Lovense Hyphy, Lovense Lush 3, We-Vibe Nova 2, etc.
  • Power between 4.5 and 7: Slightly to moderately more powerful than mid-sized, non-wand vibrators like those mentioned above.
  • Power ≥ 7: Substantially stronger than other kinds of vibrators. These levels feel extremely powerful.

The Vibration Power scale is defined with a 10.0 given to the most powerful wand vibrator’s highest strength (Currently the Doxy Die Cast). So a vibration power of 8.0 feels 80% as strong as the Doxy Die Cast. A 5.0 feels 50% as strong, and so on.

The We-Vibe Wand has a great power range that reaches intense levels but starts extremely soft for those who need mild stimulation too. The unique joystick control lets you gradually adjust power. So it has more intermediate levels than most comparable wands.

But a downside of the joystick is that you need to time how long you hold it properly. There’s a slight delay between the moment you begin holding (or releasing) the joystick and the moment the power starts (or stops) changing. As a result, it can be easy to over or undershoot your intended strength.

We-Vibe Wand Joystick
The We-Vibe Wand’s joystick control has a slight delay in responsiveness, so it can be easy to over or undershoot your target strength

The We-Vibe Wand’s lowest setting of 0.2 out of 10 vibration strength is the softest power any of my full-sized wands reach. This is awesome if you like a slow build or get easily overstimulated without a warmup.

The top strength is a 6.7 out of 10. Although some other wands are more powerful, including the BMS PalmPower Extreme and Magic Wand Rechargeable, the We-Vibe Wand is still much stronger than my non-wand vibrators. I don’t need to use the top strengths to orgasm – the middle powers are enough for me. However, I can still comfortably enjoy the We-Vibe Wand’s upper levels without feeling overwhelmed, as more intense settings often make me feel.
The We-Vibe Wand is excellent if you’re looking for powerful vibrations but want to avoid settings that feel too extreme. And you prefer a lot of intermediate levels between gentle and strong.

Vibrations: Frequency (Rumbliness)

Rumbliness Rating:

7.7

What is it:

How “rumbly” (low frequency) or “buzzy” (high frequency) a wand vibrator feels at each of its power levels. And whether a wand can deliver strong vibrations while remaining reasonably rumbly. Higher scores indicate a “more rumbly” (lower-frequency) wand, since the majority of people prefer rumbliness. But ultimately vibration frequency is a personal preference.

When does it matter:

If you prefer vibrations in a specific area along the rumbly-to-buzzy spectrum.

What is it:

What part of the frequency spectrum a wand vibrator’s power levels are centered around. It’s the vibration frequency of the wand’s middle power level (the average of the two middle levels if there is an even number of settings).

When does it matter:

If you prefer vibrations in a particular part of the frequency spectrum. This is a fast way to see whether one wand’s vibration levels are generally more rumbly or buzzy than another wand’s vibration settings. Since most people prefer rumbly toys, a higher performance score implies a lower-frequency (more rumbly) wand.

Ave Power Per Frequency:

6.1

What is it:

A measure that rewards wand vibrators that remain rumbly (low-frequency) while packing good vibration strength. Calculated for a wand using the normalized power / normalized frequency at each power level and taking the median.

When does it matter:

If you want a wand with a good balance of power and rumbliness.

Show All Scores (Click to See):

Low-frequency, rumbly vibrations travel deeper and are what most people prefer over buzzy vibrations. But it is a preference, so consider what you like!

The We-Vibe Wand has great rumbliness. The lower two-thirds of its power range is extremely rumbly, and even its highest settings remain moderately rumbly. Its rumbliness is comparable to other wands in this price range, including the Magic Wand Rechargeable and PalmPower Extreme.

And a few wands feel even deeper at similar strengths, including the pricier Fun Factory Vim or more budget-friendly Lovense Domi 2.

So it depends on your preferences when it comes to rumbliness. I prefer some rumbliness, but not too much, so the We-Vibe Wand is in a good spot for me. It’s a great choice for most people unless you have more extreme preferences regarding rumbliness.
