Magic Wand Waterproof with other wand vibrators in background

The Magic Wand Waterproof is a luxury, rechargeable wand, and the first IPX7 waterproof option in the famous Magic Wand line.

Magic Wand Waterproof with Other Magic Wands
The Magic Wand Waterproof (far left) with all previous Magic Wand Models. From left to right: Magic Wand Rechargeable, Magic Wand Plus, Magic Wand Original, Magic Wand Mini, and Magic Wand Micro.

While Magic Wand markets the Waterproof as the most powerful Magic Wand, I found its intensity feels the same as the Magic Wand Plus’s, but it adds waterproofing and cordless play. Compared to their other cordless model, the Magic Wand Rechargeable, the Waterproof is about 17% stronger and fully submersible, but also heavier, less rumbly, and louder.

It has 4 steady power levels and 4 vibration patterns, controlled by two intuitive buttons. Like the Plus and Rechargeable, the Waterproof has an especially comfortable plush silicone head, but a thicker, heavier handle.

The Magic Wand Waterproof (far left) with Magic Wand Rechargeable (left), Magic Wand Plus (middle), BMS PalmPower Extreme (right), and We-Vibe Wand 2 (far right).

It’s comfortable, has a long-lasting battery, and offers an excellent range of strength. However, it’s noisy and expensive. If you’re not set on the Magic Wand brand, the BMS PalmPower Extreme is a less-expensive, waterproof, rechargeable wand with a similar power range. Or the We-Vibe Wand 2 is a better choice if you prioritize rumbliness over sheer power.

Vibrations: Power And Range

Max Power Rating: 9.5
Power Range Rating: 8.5
Power vs Frequency Graph:
How Strong Is Each Power?

The Magic Wand Waterproof has an excellent power, starting gently and reaching an extreme top strength.

The first setting has a soft 1.9 out of 10 strength, which provides a comfortable warmup and is important in preventing overstimulation with the intensity this wand reaches on high. There are 4 power settings, and the second setting is already enough for me. I don’t even need to use the next two settings, but power lovers will enjoy these.

The max power is more than most of my wands provide at a 9 out of 10 strength. Only one wand gets stronger than this – the Doxy Die Cast. But the Magic Wand Waterproof’s top strength will be more than enough for most people, and gives a wide range for a comfortable journey.

The Waterproof’s 4 intensities are nearly identical to the Magic Wand Plus, and they’re stronger than the Magic Wand Rechargeable. Making it a great fit for those who want the intensity of the Plus, but the cord-free convenience of the Rechargeable.

Vibrations: Frequency (Rumbliness)

Rumbliness Rating: 7.3
Power vs Frequency Graph:
Frequency on Low Power: 40 Hz (Extremely Rumbly)
Median Frequency: 77 Hz (Neutral)
Frequency on High Power: 110 Hz (Extremely Buzzy)
Power and Frequency Balance: 7.4

We rate rumbly vibrations higher than buzzy ones because it’s what most people prefer. However, this is an area of personal preference, so consider what you like best!

The Magic Wand Waterproof’s first two settings are rumbly, but the top setting is extremely buzzy.

This still provides a good amount of power in the rumbly range. Since I rarely go past the second level, most of my experience is with low-frequency vibes that travel deep. And if I do venture up higher, the rumbly experience at the start has me warmed-up and ready for the neutral-feeling third setting. This frequency range is great if you want some, but not entirely rumbly settings.

Compared to other Magic Wands, the Waterproof has higher-frequency vibrations on its upper settings. This provides a more surface-level kick once you get to levels three and four, which some will enjoy. But if you prioritize rumbliness on all settings, the Magic Wand Rechargeable is a better choice (though it is about 17% weaker).

Comfort & Ease of Use

Comfort & Ease of Use Rating: 8.3
Magic Wand Waterproof Comfort And Ease of Use
Handle Comfort: 7.0
Head Comfort: 9.5
Easy Positioning & Pressure: 7.5
Controls: 9.0
Easy Cleaning: 10.0
Waterproof Rating: IPX7

For a full-sized wand, the Magic Wand Waterproof is very comfortable and easy to use.

Magic Wand Waterproof Handle Comparison with Magic Wand Rechargeable
The Magic Wand Waterproof’s handle (bottom) is a bit wider and longer than the Magic Wand Rechargeable (top).

The handle is slightly bigger and heavier than the Magic Wand Plus and Rechargeable. So it takes a little more effort to wrap your hand around and maneuver. However, the handle is still very comfortable, and the thick handle dampens the vibrations in your hand very well. If you prefer a slim handle, you may be bothered, but the grippy plastic makes for a firm, comfortable grip. When the handle is wet, it’s a little more slippery, but it’s still easy to grip and maneuver.

The plush head provides a cushioned feel that keeps the wand comfy when applying firm pressure. The squishy, cylindrical-shaped head is the same size as popular Plus and Rechargeable models. That unique shape helps to vary the contact area – more precise using the rim of the cylinder, and broader stimulation using the side.

Magic Wand Cylinder Head Precise vs Broad Stimulation
The cylindrical-shaped head allows you to vary the contact area – precise stimulation using the cylinder’s rim and broad stimulation using the side of the head.

The slightly flexible neck moves with your body, but still allows you to press hard if you enjoy applying firm pressure. The extra weight of this wand applies natural downward pressure too – you can just rest the wand against your body without having to leverage it.

Closeup on Magic Wand Waterproof’s Controls
The Magic Wand Waterproof’s excellent controls allow you to cycle through 4 power settings with the top button, and cycle through the 4 patterns with the bottom button.

The buttons are well-placed and easy to reach without getting in the way. You cycle through the four power levels with one button and through the patterns with another. Typically, I prefer controls that allow you to increase and decrease power (like the Plus), but since there are only four power levels and patterns are on a separate button, it’s easy to quickly get to the setting you want.

The IPX7 waterproof rating also makes it easy to clean this wand – you can completely submerge it during use or when cleaning it.

Use During Sex

Use During Sex Rating: 9.1
Magic Wand Waterproof Fit in Tight Space
Spooning: 9.5
Doggystyle: 9.5
Modified Missionary: 9.0
Cowgirl: 8.5

The Magic Wand Waterproof is excellent to use during sex, especially for a full-sized wand.

The cylindrical head shape makes it easier to get close, direct contact than most full-sized wands allow, even in positions where close contact is normally difficult like Cowgirl. Unlike a round head that doesn’t fill in angled spaces, the cylinder’s rim fills in space between two barriers for better contact and pressure as shown below.

Magic Wand Cylindrical Head vs Round Head in Tight Spaces
Cylindrical heads (left) reach better into tight spaces than round heads (right).

It’s best in more open positions like Spooning and Doggystyle where there’s plenty of space to maneuver the wand. The long handle is also easy to prop on the bed to support it, which is helpful since this wand is heavy. The large head spreads contact evenly, for comfortable and very stimulating vibes.

In Modified Missionary, the cushioned head is especially comfortable. Because space is tight in this position, your partner’s body will often press the wand’s head firmly against you. With firmer wands, this can be uncomfortable, but the Waterproof’s plush head provides a soft cushion.

You can also rest the wand flat against your body in this position and let its natural weight provide good pressure. This is great, as leveraging the wand is tricky in this position since it’s large and space is limited, but it’s still doable if you need to.

Magic Wand Mini and Magic Wand Waterproof
The Magic Wand Mini (left) is smaller and more easily maneuverable compared to the Magic Wand Waterproof (right).

If you want something quick and easy to move around, the smaller Magic Wand Mini may be better. But for a full-sized wand with extreme top strength, the Magic Wand Waterproof is very comfortable and provides the weighty feel that allows you to rest the wand with less effort put towards leveraging.

Noise

Noise Rating: 5.4
Decibels on Low Power: 46.1 dB
Decibels on High Power: 60.2 dB
Audibility Behind Closed Door: 4.0
Low Power: Inaudible
Middle Power: Audible
High Power: Audible
High Power with Box Fan: Audible
High Power with Music: Inaudible

The Magic Wand Waterproof is very loud – mainly on the higher settings. While I wouldn’t expect a wand this strong to be quiet, it’s even louder than other wands with this much power. As someone sensitive to noise, I find it distracting, and I prefer the Magic Wand Plus or Rechargeable for this reason.

The first setting was inaudible to my partner from the other side of the bedroom door. But every other setting was noticeable. Even turning on a box fan did not mask the noise of the top setting. Only playing music could drown out the sound completely.

The We-Vibe Wand 2 (demonstrated here) is much quieter than the Magic Wand Waterproof.

If discretion is important, or you’re easily distracted by sounds, the Magic Wand Rechargeable is more discreet, or the We-Vibe Wand 2 is an especially quiet wand!

Attachment Compatibility

Attachment Compatibility Rating: 10.0
Magic Wand Waterproof Compatible Wand Attachments
Number of Attachments Rating: 10.0
Stimulation Variety: 10.0

The Magic Wand Waterproof has fantastic attachment compatibility. Most attachments are designed for large heads like this, so you have tons of options available.

You can find compatible attachments for all types of stimulation. I own several, and you can check out my wand attachment compatibility table here to see which specific ones I confirmed fit this wand.

Mount Compatibility

Mount Compatibility Rating: 8.3
Magic Wand Waterproof Liberator Axis Wand Mount Compatibility Photo
Compatibility with Axis: 9.0
Magic Wand Waterproof Liberator Wanda Mount Compatibility Photo
Compatibility with Wanda: 7.5

We test our wands with the Liberator Axis and Wanda mounts for hands-free play. The Magic Wand Waterproof does well in both!

In the Axis, you lie over the mount on your stomach, and the Magic Wand Waterproof is held at a slightly upward angle between your legs. The large, tall head provides a broad surface area to press against and consistent contact with my clit. And the head’s plushness keeps the pressure very comfortable.

The Wanda mount holds the wand upright for use while kneeling or in doggystyle. Since the handle is a bit thicker than the Plus and Rechargeable, you have to push it down further in the mount in order for it to sit at the right height. But since the mount is cushioned and flexible, this is easy to do. Once you’ve positioned it well, the broad head is very comfortable and maintains consistent contact with my clit, which is especially important during hands-free use since you can’t adjust the wand yourself.

Battery Life

Battery Life Rating: 10.0
Magic Wand Waterproof Charging Cable Photo
Power Source: Rechargeable
Battery Life on High Power: 197 Minutes
Can Be Used While Plugged In: No
Charging Cable: Proprietary Charger

The Magic Wand Waterproof has an outstanding battery life. In our test, it ran continuously on its highest setting for 197 minutes (over 3 hours) before dying. This is one of the longest runtimes of any rechargeable wand we’ve tested which is fantastic if you often forget to charge your toys. And this is especially long-lasting considering how strong this wand is. While the Magic Wand Rechargeable lasted a bit longer (248 minutes), it’s not as powerful as the Waterproof.

Magic Wand Waterproof and Port Cap
The port cap should be added back on when the Magic Wand Waterproof is not being charged.

It has an automatic shutoff every 20 minutes to protect its motor (though you can turn it back on immediately). Unlike the Magic Wand Rechargeable, the Waterproof cannot be used while charging. It comes with a small silicone cap to cover the charging port when not plugged in. The manual says to keep the port cap on when washing, and if water gets into the charging port, make sure to wipe it off.

Build Quality

Build Quality Rating: 9.5

The Magic Wand Waterproof has excellent build quality. The plastic handle feels solid and sturdy, and the silicone head is plush and high-quality. The buttons are responsive and comfortable to press. Overall, it feels like a well-made, premium wand.

Magic Wand Waterproof Waterproof Rating Demonstration

The Magic Wand Waterproof has an IPX7 rating, which means it has been independently tested and verified that the wand can be fully submerged in up to 3 feet of water, for up to 30 minutes.

However, the user manual instructs you to keep the included silicone cap over the charging port when cleaning. It is unclear whether the wand maintains its IPX7 rating if the cap is not in place. We have contacted the manufacturer for clarification but have not yet received a response. To be safe, we recommend keeping the port covered with the cap whenever you use the wand in or around water.

Review Results

The Magic Wand Waterproof is an excellent, powerful, and versatile wand, successfully combining the extreme strength of the Magic Wand Plus with the convenience of a cordless, fully submersible design. It’s a fantastic choice for power lovers who want the iconic feel of a Magic Wand with the flexibility to use it in the bath or shower.

However, it’s noisy and expensive. More affordable options perform just as well. If you don’t need something waterproof, the Rechargeable is more rumbly, but slightly less powerful. Or the Plus is just as strong, but corded. If you’re not tied to the Magic Wand brand, the BMS PalmPower Extreme is a waterproof, cordless option that’s just as strong, at nearly half the cost.

Compare Alternatives

Magic Wand Rechargeable

Magic Wand Rechargeable and Magic Wand Waterproof

The Magic Wand Waterproof and the Magic Wand Rechargeable are both excellent, powerful, cordless wands from the iconic brand. They share the same plush, comfortable head, but differ in key areas. The choice comes down to this: do you want full waterproofing and slightly more power (Waterproof), or a quieter, more rumbly experience (Rechargeable)?

The Magic Wand Waterproof is the better choice if you want to use your wand in the bath or shower. It’s the first fully submersible Magic Wand. It’s also about 17% stronger than the Rechargeable, matching the power of the corded Magic Wand Plus. There are trade-offs for these features: it’s much louder, and its powerful high settings are buzzy, not rumbly.

The Magic Wand Rechargeable is the better option if you prioritize deep, rumbly vibrations and discretion over waterproofing. It has much better rumbliness and is significantly quieter than the Waterproof model. As a bonus, it has an even longer battery life and the rare ability to be used while charging.

Choose the Magic Wand Waterproof for its submersible design and maximum cordless power. Choose the Magic Wand Rechargeable for more rumbly, quieter vibrations.

Magic Wand Plus

Magic Wand Plus and Magic Wand Waterproof

The Magic Wand Waterproof and the Magic Wand Plus deliver nearly identical, top-tier power, but they cater to different needs and budgets. The choice is straightforward: do you want the convenience of a cordless, waterproof design (Waterproof) or the best possible price for immense power (Plus)?

Both wands share the same excellent power range, with gentle, rumbly low settings and extremely powerful, buzzy high settings. They also feature the same iconic, plush silicone head that makes them incredibly comfortable to use.

The Magic Wand Plus is the best value for pure power. It offers the same top strength as the Waterproof for a significantly lower price – it’s the strongest wand you can get for under $100. Its main drawbacks are that it’s a corded, plug-in wand so you need to play near an outlet, and it’s not waterproof.

The Magic Wand Waterproof is the better choice if you want the freedom to play anywhere, including the bath or shower. It combines the power of the Plus with a cordless, fully submersible design. However, this convenience comes at a premium price, and it’s one of the louder wands we’ve tested.

Choose the Magic Wand Plus for the best value and top-tier power. Choose the Magic Wand Waterproof if cordless, waterproof convenience is worth the significant extra cost.

Magic Wand Original

Magic Wand Original and Magic Wand Waterproof

The Magic Wand Waterproof and the Magic Wand Original are quite different despite being in the same line. The Waterproof is the newest model, and offers significant upgrades in materials safety, versatility, and performance, making it the better choice for almost everyone.

The Magic Wand Waterproof provides the extreme power the brand is known for, but in a cordless, fully waterproof package that’s much more versatile and easier to clean. Its four power levels offer a much better range – from gentle to intense – compared to the Original’s two abrupt, high-power-only settings. Most importantly, it features a body-safe, plush silicone head that is comfortable and can be properly sanitized, which is a major advantage.

The Magic Wand Original is the oldest model, and while reasonably cheap, it has some significant drawbacks. While it offers strong vibrations, it lacks softer warmup settings most people need. Its biggest flaw is its porous vinyl head, which is not body-safe and cannot be fully sanitized without purchasing a separate silicone cap.

Ultimately, there is little reason to choose the Magic Wand Original. The Magic Wand Waterproof is much better, or if savings is a priority, the Magic Wand Plus is priced about the same as the Original and is also better.

Magic Wand Mini

Magic Wand Mini and Magic Wand Waterproof

The Magic Wand Waterproof and the Magic Wand Mini fulfill very different preferences in strength and size.

The Magic Wand Waterproof is the better choice if you want the most powerful cordless Magic Wand available, with the added benefit of being fully waterproof for use in the bath or shower. Its top-end strength is extreme (equal to the corded Magic Wand Plus). The trade-off for this power is its full-sized build, which is bulkier and less maneuverable than the Magic Wand Mini, and its vibrations become buzzy on the highest setting.

The Magic Wand Mini is ideal for anyone who finds the intensity of full-sized wands overwhelming or their bulky size difficult to handle. Its compact, lightweight design is far easier to maneuver, especially during partnered sex. While its power is more moderate, it’s still plenty for me and stronger than non-wand vibrators. The Mini’s vibrations are also deeper and more rumbly than the Waterproof’s. However, it’s neither splash nor waterproof, so you have less flexibility in where you can use it.

Ultimately, both are excellent cordless wands. Choose the Magic Wand Waterproof for its sheer power and waterproof versatility. Choose the Magic Wand Mini if you prefer moderate power in a compact size.

Magic Wand Micro

Magic Wand Micro and Magic Wand Waterproof

The Magic Wand Waterproof and the Magic Wand Micro are designed for completely different users and power preferences. The choice is simple: do you want an immensely powerful, full-sized wand (Waterproof) or a cute, gentle mini vibrator (Micro)?

The Magic Wand Micro should be considered a mini vibrator, not a powerful wand (In fact, we test and rate the Micro alongside bullet and mini vibrators so scores between our two reviews are not directly comparable). The Micro’s top strength is gentler than the Waterproof’s first setting. In fact, the Micro is less powerful than many of my bullet vibrators. Most people will want more power than what it provides – especially if you’re looking for wand-like strength.

It’s really only best for those who love the Magic Wand brand and want a cute miniature in their collection. Otherwise, other small vibrators are better – see my picks for the best bullet and mini vibrators here.

The Magic Wand Waterproof is a true wand, delivering the brand’s legendary immense power in a cordless, fully submersible design. It’s for users who want intense, broad stimulation. Its power range starts gently but builds to an extreme level, making it one of the strongest cordless wands available. It’s pricey, but it’s the most versatile of the Magic Wands if you love this brand.

BMS PalmPower Extreme

BMS PalmPower Extreme and Magic Wand Waterproof

The BMS PalmPower Extreme and the Magic Wand Waterproof are two of the most powerful rechargeable, waterproof wands available. The choice between them comes down to price, and preferences in brand and design.

The BMS PalmPower Extreme (my personal favorite wand) is the better, more affordable choice if you prioritize comfort and maneuverability. Its smaller size and unique angled head makes it much easier to apply firm pressure and position between bodies during partnered sex. While it matches the Waterproof in power, its top strength feels neutral which many people will prefer over the Waterproof’s extremely buzzy top setting. I also love the press-and-hold continuous controls, which allow you to make more incremental power adjustments than the Magic Wand Waterproof.

The Magic Wand Waterproof is ideal for those who love the classic Magic Wand design but want it in a cordless, waterproof package. Its main advantage is its exceptionally plush, cushioned head, which you may prefer over the PalmPower’s firmer head (though I still find it comfortable). It delivers the same immense power as the PalmPower Extreme, but its vibrations become buzzy on the highest setting, and its heavier, larger, straight handle can be less maneuverable.

Both are top-tier wands that offer excellent strength and a versatile, cordless, waterproof design. Choose the BMS PalmPower Extreme for the savings and more compact design. Choose the Magic Wand Waterproof for its iconic plush head and the assurance of a longstanding, well-loved brand.

We-Vibe Wand 2

We-Vibe Wand 2 and Magic Wand Waterproof

The Magic Wand Waterproof and the We-Vibe Wand 2 are both excellent, high-quality waterproof wands. The choice between them comes down to a preference for higher power (Magic Wand Waterproof) versus deeper, quieter vibrations and more versatile features (We-Vibe Wand 2).

The Magic Wand Waterproof is the better option if you want the absolute strongest vibrations possible in a cordless, waterproof wand. Its 9 out of 10 top strength is only found in a couple other rechargeable wands. It also features the brand’s famously plush and comfortable head, which I love. The trade-offs are that its vibrations become buzzy on the highest setting, and it’s significantly noisier than the We-Vibe Wand 2.

The We-Vibe Wand 2 is the better choice for those who prioritize deep, rumbly vibrations over sheer power. While it’s 23% weaker than the Waterproof, it’s still plenty of power for me and most poeple – in general, wands pack immense strength. And its vibrations are more rumbly across its entire power range and never become buzzy. It’s also much quieter and offers more versatile features, including a uniquely tapered head for varied stimulation and optional app control for nearby or long-distance play.

Ultimately, both are fantastic waterproof wands. Choose the Magic Wand Waterproof for its extreme power and plush head. Choose the We-Vibe Wand 2 for its superior rumbliness, quieter operation, and more versatile features.

Lovense Domi 2

Lovense Domi 2 and Magic Wand Waterproof

The Magic Wand Waterproof and the Lovense Domi 2 are both excellent wands that cater to different preferences.

The Magic Wand Waterproof is the better option if you want the classic, plush feel of a full-sized Magic Wand with extreme power and full waterproofing. Its main advantages are its extreme top power (17% stronger), and its especially comfortable plush head that provides great broad stimulation. And its IPX7 rating also allows for use in the bath (the Domi’s IPX6 rating still allows use in the shower, but it should not be submerged). The trade-offs are its larger, bulkier size, which is less maneuverable, and its vibrations that become buzzy on the highest settings.

The Lovense Domi 2 is the better choice for those who want strong, rumbly vibrations in a compact design or for anyone who values app control. It’s the only small wand that matches the strength of many full-sized models, and its compact design is far easier to maneuver. Its vibrations are also deeper and more rumbly than the Magic Wand Waterproof’s. Lovense also has the best app control of any brand, and provides reliable long-distance play and unique control methods. Its main drawbacks are that it’s only splashproof, not fully waterproof, and some people will prefer the Magic Wand Waterproof’s broader stimulation.

Choose the Magic Wand Waterproof for even more power, its plush head, broad stimulation, and full waterproofing. Choose the Lovense Domi 2 for its quicker maneuverability, more focused stimulation, more rumbly vibrations, and excellent app control.

Lelo Smart Wand 2 Large

Lelo Smart Wand 2 Large and Magic Wand Waterproof

The choice between the Magic Wand Waterproof and the Lelo Smart Wand 2 Large is a decision between extreme power and a unique, exceptionally deep rumbliness. Both are premium priced, high-quality, waterproof, cordless wands, but they deliver very different vibrations.

The Magic Wand Waterproof is the better choice if you prioritize sheer power. It’s one of the strongest rechargeable wands available, 42% more powerful than the Lelo Wand, and great for those who crave intensity. It also has the brand’s famously plush silicone head which is especially comfortable. The trade-offs for its immense power are that while its low settings are rumbly, the high settings are neutral and buzzy, and it’s noisier than the Lelo Wand.

The Lelo Smart Wand 2 Large is ideal for those who crave the deepest, most rumbly vibrations. Its vibrations are some of the lowest-frequency we’ve ever tested – these vibrations feel unique, and travel especially deep and far through your body. It offers a more moderate top strength, which is still powerful but not as extreme as the Waterproof’s. Its uniquely deep vibrations can be polarizing – some will love it, while others may find it too deep, and unlike typical vibrations.

Ultimately, your preference for power versus vibration style will guide your decision. Choose the Magic Wand Waterproof for maximum strength and its comfortably plush head. Choose the Lelo Smart Wand 2 Large for the exceptionally rumbly vibrations.

Doxy Die Cast

Doxy Die Cast and Magic Wand Waterproof

The Magic Wand Waterproof and the Doxy Die Cast are two of the most powerful wands available, but they cater to different priorities. The Doxy Die Cast offers the absolute maximum power possible, while the Magic Wand Waterproof provides nearly the same intensity in a more convenient cordless, submersible design.

The Doxy Die Cast is the strongest wand I’ve tested, making it an excellent choice for those who need the most extreme intensity. Its lower settings are surprisingly rumbly, but its highest settings become extremely buzzy. Its heavy-duty metal construction adds natural pressure, which is a significant benefit, but it is a corded, plug-in wand.

The Magic Wand Waterproof is the better choice if you want enormous power with the freedom of a cordless, fully waterproof design. Its IPX7 waterproof rating makes cleaning easy and you can completely submerge it, so playing in the tub is fine. It’s only slightly less powerful than the Doxy Die Cast but is still immensely strong. It has an exceptionally plush, squishy head, which is more comfortable than the Doxy’s. Like the Doxy, its high settings are also quite buzzy, and it is one of the louder wands we’ve tested.

Choose the Doxy Die Cast if you want the most powerful wand available and don’t mind a cord. Choose the Magic Wand Waterproof for a more comfortable, cordless, and submersible experience with nearly the same level of extreme power.

Doxy Die Cast R

Doxy Die Cast R and Magic Wand Waterproof

The Doxy Die Cast R and Magic Wand Waterproof are both premium, rechargeable wands with an extreme 9 out of 10 top strength. Choosing between these two comes down to whether you prefer a luxurious metal build (Doxy Die Cast R) or better all-around performance (Magic Wand Waterproof). The Magic Wand Waterproof is less expensive and a better choice for most, unless you’re set on the metal Doxy handle.

While these are two of my strongest rechargeable wands, the Magic Wand Waterproof has a better range of strength, starting at a gentle 1.9 out of 10 strength with 4 evenly spread settings. This provides a comfortable warmup and slower build, which many need in order to prevent overstimulation. The Doxy, on the other hand, starts at a strong 7.33 out of 10 strength, which may feel jarring to some without any warmup.

These are similar in size and weight. They’re both large, heavier wands, which are slower to maneuver, but provide excellent natural pressure. Both heads provide fantastic, broad stimulation, but the Magic Wand’s plush head adds an extra level of comfort, which is especially helpful during sex to keep any firm pressure comfortable.

The Magic Wand Waterproof is also more versatile with double the battery life, and an IPX7 waterproof rating, allowing you to use it in the bath or shower. The Doxy, by contrast, should only be cleaned with a damp cloth and otherwise, not exposed to water.

For a more comfortable and versatile experience at a lower price, go with the Magic Wand Waterproof. The Doxy Die Cast R is still good if you prioritize the metal build, as long as you’re ok with the lack of gentle to moderate warmup settings and more difficult cleaning from the lack of a waterproof rating.

Fun Factory Vim

Fun Factory Vim and Magic Wand Waterproof

The Magic Wand Waterproof and the Fun Factory Vim are both excellent, premium wands, but they excel in different areas. The choice comes down to a preference for sheer power (Magic Wand Waterproof) versus superior rumbliness and quieter operation (Fun Factory Vim).

The Magic Wand Waterproof is the better choice if you want the most power possible in a waterproof, cordless wand. It’s 23% stronger than the Vim, delivering an extreme top intensity. Its main advantages are this high power, its famously plush and comfortable head, and its IPX7 waterproof rating that allows it to be fully submerged in the bath. The trade-offs are that it’s much noisier, and its vibrations become neutral and buzzy on the highest settings.

The Fun Factory Vim is better for those who prioritize deep, exceptionally rumbly vibrations. It’s one of the most rumbly wands we’ve ever tested, and it remains rumbly even on its highest setting. It’s also one of the quietest wands we’ve tested with this much strength. While it’s about 23% less powerful than the Waterproof, its top strength is still very intense and more than enough for most people. Its also splashproof (IPX6), so it can be used in the shower, but not submerged in the bath like the Magic Wand Waterproof can be.

Ultimately, both are fantastic wands. Choose the Magic Wand Waterproof for its extreme power and full waterproofing. Choose the Fun Factory Vim for its best-in-class rumbliness and quiet operation.

Unfortunately, the Vim is not being manufactured at the moment, so the Magic Wand Rechargeable or Orion Grande Wand are other great rumbly alternatives to consider.
