Best Wand Vibrators

32 wand vibrators we've tested

Table of Contents

With so many options available, picking the best wand vibrator for your needs can feel intimidating. But if you can identify your budget and top priorities in a wand, you can significantly narrow your search.

Do you care more about vibration power or rumbliness? Would you rather save $50 for a slightly less powerful wand, or spend for the strongest wand on the market? Excellent budget-friendly wands are available if you make tradeoffs in areas you care less about.

I personally own and have extensively tested 38 wand vibrators, comparing their performance in important areas like vibration strength, rumbliness, noise, comfort, and more. The recommendations below are the options I consider to be the best wand massagers in different price ranges and for particular uses. You can also read my full wand reviews for nitty-gritty specifics on each wand. But I’ve pulled my top performers here to save you time! I update this page as new wands come out if my recommendations change!

The Fun Factory Vim is the overall best wand vibrator I’ve tested. It’s a premium wand vibrator with a heavy, weighted motor that provides exceptionally rumbly vibrations – the kind of vibes that travel deep and impact the entire area.

It has 5 intensity levels spanning from gentle to extreme, so it offers comfortable vibrations as a warmup and intensity for a strong finish. Although some wands reach more immense upper levels, most people will be happy with the Vim’s strength. You can also access intermediate settings beyond the 5 preset levels by holding down the controls to gradually change power – excellent for those needing a slow build-up.

Despite its heavy rumbly motor, the Fun Factory Vim is lighter than most full-sized wands, making it easy to maneuver. It has an especially comfortable, slim handle. And the textured silicone feels incredibly luxurious. It’s also the quietest wand with this much strength.

This wand is excellent overall, but it’s especially for those who value rumbly vibrations.

Although the Fun Factory Vim and Magic Wand Rechargeable (below) have the best across-the-board performance, I wanted to highlight one of my personal favorites – the BMS PalmPower Extreme. It’s a little cheaper and better fits some of my preferences, which you may share.

The BMS PalmPower Extreme is the most powerful rechargeable wand vibrator. And like the Magic Wand and Vim, its 4 settings also cover a broad range with gentler levels as a warmup. It’s rumbly on its lower levels, though becomes more neutral-feeling on its highest settings, which I enjoy personally.

  • Power ≤ 3: Comparable to the vibration strength of smaller vibrators like bullets.
  • Power between 3 and 4.5: Comparable to the vibration strength of mid-sized, non-wand vibrators like the Lelo Mona 2, Lovense Hyphy, Lovense Lush 3, We-Vibe Nova 2, etc.
  • Power between 4.5 and 7: Slightly to moderately more powerful than mid-sized, non-wand vibrators like those mentioned above.
  • Power ≥ 7: Substantially stronger than other kinds of vibrators. These levels feel extremely powerful.

But the BMS PalmPower Extreme’s angled head is what often makes me reach for it over the Magic Wand Rechargeable. The angled head makes it especially comfortable to leverage and easily apply firm pressure. It also helps the wand fit into tight spaces during sex. And when placed in the Liberator Axis wand mount, its angled head naturally rests in the perfect position for firm hands-free contact with my clit. So neither my partner nor I need to hold the wand during sex.

It’s not as quiet as the Fun Factory Vim, but we don’t live with anyone, so sound isn’t important to me. Since I love using wands during sex (especially hands-free), I reach for this wand often.

The Magic Wand Rechargeable is another favorite with exceptional across-the-board performance. It’s a bit cheaper than the Fun Factory Vim, and is an excellent choice for most people – especially if you don’t mind trading off a little bit of rumbliness.

It’s more powerful than the Fun Factory Vim, though minimally less powerful than some plug-in wands. I typically can only use the lower 3 levels myself. It will be more than enough power for most people. Its 4 settings also provide a broad range, taking you comfortably through gentler warm-up levels before finishing with immense power. It has excellent rumbliness (but is not quite as low-frequency as the Vim).

As a full-sized wand, it’s not as easy to maneuver as mini wands. But the large head provides broad, impactful stimulation, making precise positioning unnecessary. Its plush head is also very comfortable solo and during sex.

Its large head makes it compatible with a variety of attachments so you can enjoy other types of stimulation (like G-spot or penis), or use it with wand mounts for hands-free play. The noise level is undetectable from the other side of a bedroom door at low and mid-strengths. It has the longest battery life of any rechargeable wand I’ve tested, and it’s built to last!

The Magic Wand Plus is the most powerful wand under $100 and is very similar to our best overall recommendation – the Magic Wand Rechargeable.

There are a few tradeoffs for the lower price – mainly, the Plus is corded instead of rechargeable. This cord detracts a bit from the general ease of use since you need to play within 6 feet of an outlet (or use an extension cord). And you’ll want to position the cord so it’s not in your way.

But the vibrations are excellent! Its lower levels are extremely rumbly, deep, and impactful. And although the top two levels are slightly buzzier than the Rechargeable version, they’re also more powerful – an advantage of being a plug-in wand.

The Magic Wand Plus is a bit noisier too. But in our testing, we found turning on a box fan or music in the bedroom keeps it from being heard behind a closed door even on its highest vibration power.

This wand has a plush, comfortable head for broad stimulation, and the controls are simple and straightforward. It’s well-made from high-quality materials and has great performance. With a price under $100 for one of the most famous, well-loved wand vibrators, it’s an excellent value.

If your budget is around $75, an excellent choice is the Magic Wand Mini – a more compact version of the Magic Wand Rechargeable. We’ve been talking about the Magic Wand brand a lot because their toys are high-quality with wonderful vibrations – often at lower prices than other brands.

For the smaller size of the Mini, you trade off the extreme upper powers of the full-sized wands and gain easier maneuverability and greater comfort.

The Magic Wand Mini is still more powerful than non-wand vibrators like the Lelo Mona, Lovense Hyphy, and others. But its top level is not extreme like the full-sized wands. While I only use the full-sized versions’ lower settings because I find immense power overwhelming, I enjoy the Magic Wand Mini’s full power spectrum. And the vibrations are impactful – I can orgasm even on its lowest setting.

The vibrations are also mostly rumbly – only becoming neutral on its highest power.

The Mini’s shorter length and lighter weight make it easier to maneuver. And its less bulky head fits better into tight areas – especially during sex. Its head is made from the same comfortable plush, silicone material as the full-sized versions.

This wand is also discreet. My partner could not hear it behind a closed door on any of its power levels. It’s cordless and the battery lasts around 3.5 hours on high power, so you can play several times between charges.

The Orion Your New Favorite Wand Massager is the best wand under $50 I’ve tested. It’s a mini wand vibrator with a short length but a full-sized head. While its power is not as extreme as expensive, large wands, it’s stronger than anything else this cheap. It only has 3 intensity levels, but they cover a good range with a fairly gentle, moderate, and intense level.

The Orion Wand is a bit louder than comparably powerful wands, but not too bad. And the broad head, but short handle make it tough to use in face-to-face sex positions like Missionary. But it’s excellent in positions like Doggystyle or Spooning. And, its full-sized head makes it compatible with many wand attachments or mounts for hands-free play.

Overall, it’s a great value.

If you’d rather have a cheap wand that’s easy to use during sex, the VeDO Wini is a better option than the Orion Your New Favorite Wand Massager. This mini wand’s small head helps it fit much better in tight spaces (like during sex) than the Orion’s bulky head.

This mini wand’s power is still slightly stronger than other kinds of vibrators like G-spot vibrators, rabbits, etc. But it’s closer to these vibrators than to the immense strength of full-sized wands. The Orion wand has about 43% more power. Still, the Wini’s strength is enough for me – I easily orgasm with it.

The VeDO Wini also has more intensity levels, covering its power range in-depth. So if you typically need a lot of gentle and moderate power levels, it’s a great choice.

It’s comfortable, discreet, and easy to use. While it’s not as luxurious as pricier options, it feels well-made, and the vibrations are good.

The Doxy Die Cast is the strongest wand vibrator we’ve tested. The “10” on our vibration power scale is defined by this corded wand’s top strength. Most people will not need this much power. But it’s great for those who crave enormous levels of stimulation.

I consider the top 5 of its 7 settings extremely powerful. I need to use it over my clothes if I go beyond the second level. As someone who prefers more moderate power, I stick to the first two settings. These lower levels are deep, rumbly, and impactful without being overwhelming. The highest power levels become extremely buzzy, which makes them feel even more intense. I prefer the lower, more rumbly levels. But people craving maximum intensity may enjoy these top powers.

If you dislike buzzy vibrations, the BMS PalmPower Extreme and Magic Wand Plus are more rumbly alternatives. These wands are the next-most powerful after the Doxy – each is 90% as powerful as the Die Cast.

With the Die Cast’s immense strength comes noise. So if you share a wall with someone you’ll need to play music to remain discreet. Though the lowest level is inaudible behind a closed door without music.

This wand has a solid, luxurious metal build so it’s heavy. Its weight makes maneuvering it more difficult, but it adds natural pressure that I find really enjoyable. And since the strength is so intense, you don’t need to maneuver this wand into a precise position to feel a strong effect.

Many people prefer low-frequency (rumbly) vibrations to high-frequency (buzzy) vibrations. So for each wand we review, we measure its vibration frequency at every power level. The Lelo Smart Wand 2 (Large) is by far the most rumbly.

Even at its highest setting, it’s still extremely rumbly at 40 Hz. Only one other wand we’ve tested (the Lovense Domi 2) reaches a comparable strength while remaining extremely rumbly. Most wands become neutral-feeling or buzzy at a comparable power to the Smart Wand.

The Lelo Smart Wand 2 (Large) is also powerful – stronger than any non-wand I own, but not as extreme in strength as some other wands like the BMS PalmPower Extreme, Magic Wand Plus, or Doxy Die Cast. It also has great soft levels as a warmup.

It’s lighter than most full-sized wands so it’s reasonably easy to maneuver, but I can feel the vibrations in my hand which can be distracting at times.

The Smart Wand Large’s vibrations are so low-frequency, that they feel like an entirely different experience compared to a typical wand. While most people prefer rumbliness, some will want a wand that’s not so far toward the end of the spectrum. If you want something more traditionally rumbly, the Lovense Domi and Fun Factory Vim are worth considering. They’re also exceptionally rumbly, but not so extreme that they feel unlike other vibrators. They both have better overall performance than the LeloSmart Wand 2.

If you want as deep of rumbles as you can find, the Smart Wand 2 Large is it.

Although the Fun Factory Vim (discussed above) is the quietest powerful wand I’ve tested, the Viben Sultry is very close at about half the price. It’s an excellent wand if you value powerful, discreet vibrations and you don’t have the budget for the Vim.

We’ve tested the Viben Sultry’s audibility behind a closed door multiple times. Often, my partner cannot hear it on any power level from behind the bedroom door. Some days, he can hear the highest setting. For such a powerful wand, this is very discreet. And remember, this is with my partner standing directly behind the door trying to hear it – it’s unlikely to be noticed during normal use. And turning on a box fan will ensure no one hears it.

This one has a limited power range. It doesn’t have very gentle levels – the lowest strength is already 6.5 out of 10. However, the vibrations remain entirely in the rumbly range, so they feel comfortable to me even without a warm-up. Its moderately rumbly vibrations are in a personal sweet spot for me – it’s one of my favorites.

The contoured silicone handle is really comfortable and easy to hold. And it’s the lightest full-sized wand we’ve tested, which makes it easy to maneuver solo or during sex. It has a high-quality, luxurious silicone build. And the Viben Sultry is reasonably priced under $100.

The Lovense Domi is our recommendation for the best mini wand. It has a comfortable slim handle that’s easy to grip, a small head that fits easily into tight spaces (especially helpful during partnered sex), and a lighter weight than large wands making it easier to maneuver. Its neck strikes an excellent balance of flexibility. It flexes enough to keep it comfortable during sex, but it has enough rigidity that leveraging the wand to apply pressure is easy.

It has the best across-the-board performance of any mini wand. Lovense even has wand attachments designed to fit the Domi’s small head. And unlike most compact wands, the Lovense Domi 2 does not sacrifice power. Its highest setting is more powerful than any other small wand (including the Magic Wand Mini) and matches many full-sized wands. Its upper levels are extreme. And its vibrations are also deep and rumbly throughout its entire power range.

It has high-quality construction, and it’s easy to control through the buttons on the handle. You or a partner can also control it through the Lovense app – you can even play with a long-distance partner anywhere in the world. We’ve tested many app-controlled vibrators and Lovense has the best app and most reliable connectivity of any brand. They’re also the only brand with a high-qualtiy app-controlled wand on the market currently.

Best Wand During Sex – Lovense Domi

Other Wand Vibrators to Consider

FemmeFunn Ultra Wand

FemmeFunn Ultra Wand - Review Header Image

The FemmeFunn Ultra Wand is an alternative to the Magic Wand Mini for under $75. It’s better for those who would rather trade off some extremely rumbly low levels for a little stronger upper levels. The FemmeFunn’s 3 settings are entirely in the moderately powerful range, lacking the gentle levels the Magic Wand Mini has. The vibes are moderately rumbly on low and neutral on high – a frequency range I enjoy, but those looking for some extremely rumbly levels will prefer the Magic Wand Mini.

Satisfyer Wand-er Woman

Satisfyer Wand-er Woman - Review Header Image

The Satisfyer Wand-er Woman is another alternative to the Magic Wand Mini for under $75. The Wand-er Woman one is best if you would rather trade off comfort for more extreme rumbliness and a bit more power. This full-sized wand is the most affordable wand option with powerful vibrations entirely in the extremely rumbly range. It’s about 1.34x as powerful as the Magic Wand Mini. But it is very heavy, bulky, and firm – making it less comfortable and more challenging to maneuver.

Blush Noje W4 - Review Header Image

This budget mini wand has great performance for the price when it’s on sale for around $30 (which happens frequently at PeepShowToys). At full price (closer to $50), it underperforms compared to the Orion Your New Favorite Wand and the VeDO Wini. But it’s worth considering if you find it on sale.

We-Vibe Wand

We-Vibe Wand Review Header Image

The We-Vibe Wand is the only quality full-sized wand vibrator with app-control and the only real competitor to the Lovense Domi 2 in that regard. Without considering the app-control, the We-Vibe Wand underperforms slightly in comparison to comparably-priced wands like the BMS PalmPower Extreme and Magic Wand Rechargeable. The app itself is not as good as Lovense’s, but it gets the job done. So for those who want a full-sized wand with app control, it can be worth considering.

My partner and I personally own and have tested every wand vibrator included in this guide, and many more (38 wands and counting!)

We use each wand vibrator extensively and run each wand through a series of tests designed to bring out differences in their performance. Below are the test results for each wand and a brief explanation of what that test measures. You can read more about all our wand vibrator tests here. For detailed results for any wand, check out that wand vibrator’s full review. You can find a list of every wand we’ve tested here.

Max Vibration Power

What is it:

How strong the wand vibrator’s highest power level feels.

When does it matter:

If you prefer the extreme power some wands offer or want to make sure your wand at least reaches a certain strength.

Power Range

What is it:

How wide the range is between the highest and lowest power levels, and whether it has enough power levels that steps between levels aren’t too large.

When does it matter:

A broad power range is usually important because it enables more versatile stimulation. You can start on softer levels when your body isn’t ready for crazy strong power. But when you want more strength, you can turn it up high.

Rumbliness

What is it:

How “rumbly” (low frequency) or “buzzy” (high frequency) a wand vibrator feels at each of its power levels. And whether a wand can deliver strong vibrations while remaining reasonably rumbly. Higher scores indicate a “more rumbly” (lower-frequency) wand, since the majority of people prefer rumbliness. But ultimately vibration frequency is a personal preference.

When does it matter:

If you prefer vibrations in a specific area along the rumbly-to-buzzy spectrum.

Comfort & Ease of Use

What is it:

How comfortable the wand is to hold and press against your body. As well as how easy it is to press the buttons, leverage the wand for good pressure, and maneuver it to apply the stimulation where and how you want it. This rating also includes how easy the wand is to clean. Ratings are based primarily on solo use – I cover use during partnered sex here.

When does it matter:

If you are easily distracted by subtle discomforts such as feeling the vibrations in your hands, slight wrist strain, or an awkward grip on the handle. It also matters if you want a wand that’s easy to use for a wide variety of stimulation or for long periods of time.

These wands have excellent performance in this category and others. We only include wands we recommend overall, excluding wands that perform well here but not in other areas.
