Vibrations: Power And Range

Max Power Rating 7.5 3.2
Power Range Rating 7.6 5.4
Power vs Frequency Graph
How Strong Is Each Power?

Although not as immensely powerful as major brands like Magic Wand and Doxy, the Satisfyer Wand-er Woman offers a top power level moderately stronger than my favorite non-wand vibrators. As one of the most powerful budget-friendly wands, its power will be sufficient for most people and is ideal for those who want strong but not extreme vibrations.

Its six power levels cover a broad range from 1.8 to 6.7. The softer settings are great so you don’t get overstimulated. And its gradual steps between levels aren’t jarring.

Satisfyer Wander Woman vs Magic Wand Plus
The Satisfyer Wand-er Woman (left) with a stronger option, the Magic Wand Plus (right)

At an affordable price, the Wand-er Woman offers good value in terms of vibration strength and range. If you’re looking for more extreme power, the Magic Wand Plus reaches a 9 out of 10 on its top strength and also has excellent low levels. It’s still reasonably priced but is $20-30 more expensive.

The BMS PalmPower Groove has poor vibration power and range compared to other wands (even other mini wand vibrators). It’s one of my weakest wands, maxing out at just 1.6 out of 10 vibration strength – more comparable to a typical bullet vibrator than a wand.

At such a low price, it’s not necessarily bad If you enjoy mild stimulation. The vibrations still feel impactful enough that I enjoy them and orgasm with the PalmPower Groove. But If you’re expecting the massive power wand vibrators are famous for, you’ll be disappointed.

For a more powerful mini wand vibrator under $50, consider the VeDO Wini or Orion Your New Favorite Wand Massager.

Vibrations: Frequency (Rumbliness)

Rumbliness Rating 8.5 6.4

Frequency on Low Power 49 Hz 34 Hz
Median Frequency 57 Hz 51 Hz
Frequency on High Power 65 Hz 59 Hz
Power and Frequency Balance 7.9 3.4

We rate wands with rumbly vibrations higher than those with buzzy vibrations because most people prefer rumbliness. These vibrations travel deeper and are less tickly.

Cheap vibrators are often buzzy, but the Satisfyer Wand-er is one of the more rumbly wands we’ve tested. And the Wand-er Woman packs plenty of power for its rumbliness – many wands become buzzy as their power increases. But the Wand-er Woman does not. All its power levels fall within the rumbly region of the frequency spectrum, with its first four settings being extremely rumbly!

We rate wands with rumbly vibrations higher than buzzy ones because most people prefer it.

The BMS PalmPower Groove is very low-frequency (rumbly) from start to finish. Even its highest setting is less than 60 Hz (our cutoff for the “extremely rumbly” range). But since its vibrations are so weak, the low-frequency vibrations only pack a little impact.

Unfortunately, if you want rumbliness and power, it’s hard to find at the extremely low price of the Groove, so you’ll have to increase your budget a bit.

At a comparable price, the Romp Presto is a stronger mini wand with two starting levels in the rumbly range. Or the Satisfyer Wand-er Woman (a full-sized wand) is the cheapest wand with excellent power and rumbliness.

Comfort & Ease of Use

My main issue with the Wand-er Woman is its discomfort, primarily due to its wide handle and heavy weight.

As someone with small-to-average-sized hands, I often need both hands to hold this wand, particularly when applying pressure. It’s also one of the heaviest wands, which is odd because it’s less powerful than other wands with comparable weight (a heavier motor increases the power). The combination of its weight and thick handle makes it feel bulky and difficult to maneuver. If you have larger hands or don’t mind using both, then it may not be an issue for you.

Wide Handle of Satisfyer Wander is Difficult to Grip

The head is also too firm for my taste. With full-sized wands I prefer plush heads, like those of the Magic Wand Rechargeable or Plus. It’s not painful, but it lacks the luxurious, comfortable feel of those with extra padding. The thick handle, firm head, and heavy weight are things I could adjust to if I didn’t have more comfortable, higher-end wands in my collection.

On a positive note, the controls are user-friendly, with separate buttons to move up and down between the 6 power levels. You don’t need to cycle through them. The buttons are easy to press and clearly marked. It’s also IPX7 waterproof, so it’s very easy to clean.

The BMS PalmPower Groove is decently comfortable and has easy-to-use but basic controls.

The short length (just 6.1 inches) is easy to maneuver, and the small head fits in tight spaces and comfortably provides firm pressure. You can limit contact to fleshy areas so it doesn’t press uncomfortably against your pubic bone.

The head’s grooved texture and indented section are supposed to provide additional stimulation, but I haven’t noticed that. It doesn’t add or detract from the vibrator to me.

BMS PalmPower Groove Shape of Groove
The grooved section neither adds nor detracts from my experience

The short, silicone handle is slim and tapers toward the end. The taper is intended to make the Groove more comfortable, but I find it more tiring to leverage. My hands and fingers tire faster than those with longer, less tapered handles like the Romp Presto.

A single button cycles through the Groove’s 4 power levels and 3 vibration patterns. I prefer wand vibrators with separate buttons to increase and decrease power like the Presto.

Use During Sex

Spooning 6.0 10.0
Doggystyle 7.0 7.4
Modified Missionary 7.0 9.0
Cowgirl 5.0 9.0

The same aspects that make maneuvering this wand difficult during solo-play (its heavy weight, firm head, and thick handle) become more problematic during sex.

Satisfyer Wander Resting Weight on Bed
This position is easier than others with the Satisfyer Wand-er Woman because you can rest the weight of the wand against the bed

The firm head bumps uncomfortably into my pubic bone with a lot of movement, especially in the Cowgirl and Spooning positions. While Spooning, the wand’s weight also makes it tiring to keep in contact with my clit. I have more success in Doggystyle, since I can rest the base of the handle on the bed to support the weight. But my hands still get tired since the handle’s so thick.

If you can get past the extra effort it takes to handle the Wand-er Woman, the head maintains contact with the clit in all positions, and the stimulation it provides is good.

The BMS PalmPower Groove has a great design to use during sex with a partner. The short length makes it easy to move around and leverage without the handle interfering with you or your partner’s body.

The small head fits easily between your legs too. You can hold it close to your clit for great stimulation without it being pressed painfully against your pubic bone, even in positions facing your partner like Missionary.

Though I wish it had stronger vibrations, I successfully use it in Spooning, Cowgirl, and Modified Missionary positions. Doggystyle takes more work because you have to reach pretty far back with such a small toy. In Doggystyle, I actually prefer a long wand. However, only those very focused on a wand for Doggystyle will take issue with this.

Noise

Low Power Inaudible Inaudible
Middle Power Audible Inaudible
High Power Audible Inaudible
High Power with Box Fan Inaudible Inaudible
High Power with Music Inaudible Inaudible

While not particularly loud, there are quieter wands with comparable power. In our testing, my partner couldn’t hear it on its lower settings but could hear the middle and upper levels from the other side of our closed bedroom door. A few comparably powered wands, like the Magic Wand Rechargeable, remained inaudible on their middle levels, while the Viben Sultry was silent on all settings.

But when I turned on a box fan or music in the bedroom my partner could no longer hear the Wand-er Woman, so you have options to remain discreet.

The BMS PalmPower Groove is very quiet. When I’m using it in the bedroom, my partner can’t hear it behind the closed door, even on high power. But since it’s a gentle wand vibrator, the quiet vibrations aren’t that impressive.

You can find stronger options that are also inaudible from behind a closed door. For instance, the Romp Presto is over 3 times stronger and cannot be heard on any setting.

Attachment Compatibility

Attachment Compatibility Rating 6.0 5.4
Satisfyer Wand-er Woman Compatible Wand Attachments
BMS PalmPower Groove Compatible Wand Attachments
Number of Attachments Rating 4.6 3.3
Stimulation Variety 7.5 7.5

The Satisfyer Wand-er Woman has fair, but not outstanding compatibility with wand attachments. As a full-sized wand, it fits many attachments designed for the Magic Wand and similar brands. But its head size and shape are unique enough that not all the same attachments are compatible. For a complete list of tested attachments, refer to our attachment compatibility table.

There is still a good variety of compatible attachments available for G-spot, anal, prostate, penis, and clitoral stimulation. But the selection is more limited compared to other full-sized wands.

The BMS PalmPower Groove has very limited attachment compatibility since the head is so tiny.

Only 3 of my nearly 30 wand attachments fit on the PalmPower Groove. These include the PalmPower Bliss and Embrace, which are designed for the PalmPower Recharge. They don’t screw onto the Groove’s head but stay on by friction. It also fits the Lovehoney Queen G. All 3 are G-spot attachments, so the variety is minimal.

You have options, but not as many as wands with large heads like the Orion Your New Favorite Wand.

I test my wands with the Liberator Axis and Wanda mounts for hands-free play.

The Wand-er Woman fits well into the Axis, which holds the wand in place while you lie on your stomach. It positions the wand at a slight upward angle between your legs, providing decent stimulation due to the wand’s large head that reaches my clit and maintains good contact.

It doesn’t provide as firm of pressure as wands with an upward curve (like the BMS PalmPower Extreme) that naturally positions the head even nearer to my clit, but still works well.

Unfortunately, the Satisfyer Wand-er Woman may not work well with the Wanda mount for most people. The handle’s thickness prevents it from being pressed as far into the mount as other full-sized wands. So when I insert the wand as deep as possible, the head remains too high for clitoral stimulation.

Satisfyer Wander Woman Too Tall for Mount
The Satisfyer Wand-er Woman wand in the Liberator Wanda mount. The wand sits too high for most people to use

I’m 5’4″, so taller individuals might have better luck, but it’s still a risk. I can position my other tall wands, like the Magic Wand Plus, deeper in the mount so the head still rests at a reasonable height.

I test all my wands with Liberator’s mounts for hands-free play – the Axis and Wanda.

Unfortunately, the BMS PalmPower Groove is too small to fit in these wand mounts. It does not stay in place, so it cannot be used. If you want a budget-friendly mini wand that works well with mounts, the Romp Presto is decent. Otherwise you’ll have to increase your budget for a full-sized wand like the Magic Wand Plus.

This wand is rechargeable, lasting 140 minutes continuously vibrating on high power during our testing. It’s one of my longest-lasting wands.

The BMS PalmPower Groove has a poor battery life compared to my other wands. In our testing, it only lasted 55 minutes continuously vibrating on high power. Several stronger wand vibrators lasted longer. Consider the VeDO Wini, which lasts a bit longer on high, and is much stronger.

Build Quality

Build Quality Rating 7.0 6.5

While I find the thick handle and firm head uncomfortable, the construction is solid.

The handle, buttons, and motor all seem high-quality and durable. The silicone is thinner and less luxurious-feeling than that of the Magic Wand Rechargeable and other premium wands, but still quality.

The BMS PalmPower Groove has passable build quality. As their cheap, mini wand it feels less solid and luxurious than BMS’s premium products like the PalmPower Extreme. The Groove is very lightweight, so it feels cheaper. But the body-safe silicone handle and head feel nice and comfortable.

Considering the extremely low cost, its decent build quality is better than expected.
