Vibrations: Power And Range

Max Power Rating 7.4 6.9
Power Range Rating 8.1 7.4
Power vs Frequency Graph
How Strong Is Each Power?

The Large Lelo Smart Wand 2 reaches a top strength that’s definitely stronger than my favorite non-wand vibrators. Though it’s not extreme like other full-sized wands.

I personally prefer moderate strength – I rarely (or never) use the top settings of ultrapowerful wands like the Doxy Die Cast or Magic Wand Plus. So I’m happy with the Smart Wand’s power, but people who want immense strength may consider one of those.

The vibrations also begin very gently (1 out of 10 vibration strength), and there are several intensity levels with tiny, gradual steps between each level. This is something Lelo usually does well – they rarely design a vibrator with large gaps between levels. So people who prefer milder stimulation or need soft levels for a warmup have plenty to enjoy before turning the power up.

The Kiiroo ProWand has a decent vibration range, starting very gently and reaching a moderate top strength. This may be disappointing for those expecting the extreme power typical of wands, but it’s a great fit if you want a gradual build with strength comparable to mid-sized, non-wand vibrators. It has enough strength for me personally.

The five preset powers climb gradually enough that I’m not shocked by the transition, and they’re also distinct enough that each setting feels different, so I like spending time on each one. If you want an even more custom experience, you can use the app to adjust the power with a slider, which lets you reach in-between settings that aren’t available with the buttons alone.

The Kiiroo ProWand (left) and stronger alternatives: the Lovense Domi 2 (middle) and BMS PalmPower Extreme

If you want the higher vibration strength that’s typically expected of wands, both the app-controlled Lovense Domi 2 or the non-app-controlled BMS PalmPower Extreme are great alternatives in this price range.

Vibrations: Frequency (Rumbliness)

Rumbliness Rating 9.5 7.6
Power vs Frequency Graph
Frequency on Low Power 23 Hz 22 Hz
Median Frequency 34 Hz 45 Hz
Frequency on High Power 40 Hz 89 Hz
Power and Frequency Balance 9.0 5.6

The Large Lelo Smart Wand has some of the most rumbly vibrations I’ve ever felt – even on high power! Its vibrations are much lower frequency than the We-Vibe Tango X – a small bullet vibrator famous for its excellent rumbliness.

Most people prefer deep, rumbly vibrations. But the Large Lelo Smart Wand 2’s vibrations are so exceptionally rumbly that they feel very different from what most people are used to. You’ll have a strong opinion about the Smart Wand 2 – positive or negative!

Many who crave deep, rumbly vibes will absolutely love how these low-frequency vibrations feel. And others will discover that they actually prefer only moderately rumbly vibrations. Or stronger rumbly vibrations like the Orion Grande Wand provides.

I personally enjoy the Lelo’s rumbly vibrations if I hold it lightly against my clit. But I typically prefer firm pressure – and when I press these deep vibrations firmly into me, they’re so rumbly that I feel them spread throughout a large area of my body. I can even feel some residual vibes in my stomach. They don’t hone in and target my clit directly.

Lelo Smart Wand 2 Large vs Magic Wand Rechargeable - Vibration Power vs Frequency Graph

Many who love wands for their broad, deep stimulation will enjoy this quality. Others will want something less rumbly with vibrations that don’t travel quite as deep. I personally prefer wands that are still moderately rumbly, but not quite as low-frequency like the Magic Wand Rechargeable.

If you want pure rumbles, the Lelo wand definitely delivers!

We rate rumbly vibrations higher than buzzy ones because most people prefer them. This is all up to personal preference, though, so consider what you like.

The first four settings of the Kiiroo ProWand are rumbly, and the top setting has a neutral feel. The settings are spread out to cover a wider frequency range than many of my other wands, which is likely why each setting feels so different. I enjoy spending time with each one.

If you enjoy rumbly settings at gentler strengths, the ProWand is excellent. But if you want stronger rumbly vibrations, the Lovense Domi 2 is better.

App Control: Main Takeaways

In the next sections, I’ll cover the Kiiroo FeelConnect 3 app’s Close-Range Features, its Long-Distance Features, and its Connectivity in detail.

But here’s the main conclusion:

Kiiroo’s FeelConnect 3 app is middle-of-the-road. Its features are adequate for close-range play and provide some fun customization options. However, the connectivity is hit-or-miss for long-distance control, and the overall experience isn’t as polished or feature-rich as Lovense’s (the best app-controlled brand).

Kiiroo ProWand and Lovense Domi 2 with apps
The Kiiroo ProWand (left) compared to the better app-controlled wand, the Lovense Domi 2 (right)

Overall, if the app experience is your main priority, the Lovense Domi 2 is the clear winner. But if you see the app as a fun bonus feature and you prioritize the ProWand’s other qualities (like its quietness, more moderate intensity, and small head), then the app is good enough to still be enjoyable.

App Control: Close Range Features

Close-Range Features Rating N/A 6.5

The Kiiroo ProWand has decent close-range features in the FeelConnect 3 app. It’s not as user-friendly as my favorite app (Lovense), but it provides good basic control with more customization features than the We-Vibe app.

There are several screens in the app that provide different ways to control your Kiiroo ProWand:

  • Touch Control
  • Patterns
  • Sound Control
  • Device-to-Device
Touch Control with Kiiroo ProWand
Drag the dot around in Touch Control to adjust the intensity of the ProWand

In Touch Control, you can set a constant vibration intensity by dragging an on-screen dot up or down. The dot displays the power percentage, giving you great in-the-moment visual feedback and highly customized control, similar to my favorite feature in the Lovense app.

Wave Control with the Kiiroo ProWand
Adjust the height of your wave with the three ovals, and adjust the speed by dragging the dot up or down.

To create a wave-like pattern, you can pop out a side panel with three ovals representing the low, mid, and high parts of the power spectrum. The wand will then oscillate through whichever sections you have selected. For example, if you select the bottom two ovals, the wave will vibrate back-and-forth between the low and mid-powers. In this mode, the on-screen dot no longer controls intensity but instead adjusts the speed of the wave—lower for slower, higher for faster.

The controls available with the Lovense Domi’s app.

While this allows for good customization, I find the whole process less intuitive than the simple “loop” and “float” features in the Lovense Domi’s app, which make it easier to create any pattern quickly.

Pattern Creation and Storage with Kiiroo ProWand
Create and save a pattern here.

In FeelConnect’s Patterns, you can draw your own patterns using the Touch Control screen and save them to use again in the future. This is where all your saved patterns will be stored.

Two Toy Control in Kiiroo app
Control two toys at once in the Kiiroo app

A useful feature for both the Touch Control and Patterns screens is the ability to control multiple Kiiroo toys simultaneously. Whether you’re using a clitoral and G-spot toy on yourself or playing with a partner, you can sync both toys to vibrate together. However, they will both follow the exact same pattern; unlike the Lovense app, you can’t control each toy independently on the same screen.

Sound Control with Kiiroo ProWand
Sound Control with the Kiiroo ProWand – drag the line up or down to adjust how sensitive the ProWand is to noise. The slider allows you to adjust the power it vibrates at.

With Sound Control, your ProWand will vibrate based on the sound picked up by your phone’s mic. The screen displays a sound threshold line; whenever the noise around you is louder than this threshold, the ProWand vibrates. You can drag the threshold line up or down to make it more or less sensitive. A vertical slider on the right lets you set the constant intensity your wand will vibrate at when the sound is loud enough.

Device to Device Control with the Kiiroo ProWand
Control the Kiiroo ProWand using another toy that has a touch sensor using “Device-to-Device Control”

Device-to-Device control allows for hands-free control of a partner’s toy. In this mode, you select one “Main Device” that has a touch sensor and up to two “Controlled Devices” (which don’t need a sensor). When the Main Device is pressed against your body, the Controlled Device(s) will vibrate at full power. This is a neat way to sync up your partner’s stimulation with yours.

The Kiiroo ProWand does not have a touch sensor, so it can only be a “Controlled Device.” I paired it with my Kiiroo Fuse as the Main Device, and once you get used to it, the feature works pretty well. There’s a tiny delay, but it’s not too noticeable. However, the app must remain open and on-screen for it to work.

Customize Kiiroo ProWand Lights
Customize the ProWand’s light color and flashing sequence in the app.

Through the app, you can also customize the color and flashing sequence of the light on the bottom of the wand, but you cannot turn the light off entirely.

If app control is a fun bonus feature, but not a top priority, the Kiiroo ProWand is a nice choice! But the Lovense app provides a better user experience, easier pattern creation, and tons of pre-made patterns. If you’ll use the app often, the Lovense Domi 2 is better.

App Control: Long Distance Features

Long-Distance Features Rating N/A 6.5

The Kiiroo ProWand’s long-distance features in the FeelConnect 3 app are adequate but basic.

Partner Control Screen in Kiiroo ProWand App
Your partner’s control screen to adjust the ProWand vibrations when you give them access.

Within the app, you can message a partner, give them control of your toy, and video chat with them while they control your ProWand. Your partner’s control screen is just a simple slider to control the power (to send a “pattern” you’d have to continually drag the slider). This is functional, but less intuitive and more basic than other apps like Lovense, which allow a controlling partner to create looping patterns on the fly or send pre-designed patterns. Unlike other apps, you also can’t share photos or saved patterns with your partner.

If you want to play with someone regularly, you can add them as a partner by searching for their username in the “Interact” section. This saves them to your partner list where you can see their online status (though this isn’t always accurate) and quickly connect. If you’d prefer to give someone anonymous one-time control, you can instead generate a timed link that expires after a period of time you set. Once the time has expired, they’ll lose control of your toy.

If long-distance control will be an occasional activity for you, the Kiiroo ProWand works okay (though it has some connectivity issues in long-distance mode, discussed below). But if you plan to use this feature frequently, the Lovense Domi 2’s app is more reliable, has better features, and gives your partner better visuals and controls.

App Control: Connectivity

App Connectivity Rating N/A 6.6
Bluetooth Connectivity Reliability N/A 7.8
Long Distance Connectivity Reliability N/A 6.0
Bluetooth Connectivity Range N/A 4.0

The Kiiroo ProWand’s FeelConnect 3 app has decent connectivity in close range but can be frustrating in long-distance mode.

Pairing the toy with the app is usually quick and reliable. Occasionally, it won’t pair right away, but restarting the app fixes the issue. Once connected, I can use the app’s close-range features consistently, even with periods of inactivity or while switching between other apps, and it rarely disconnects. If it does, re-pairing is quick and easy.

Long-distance mode is where the connectivity is spottier. About 25-50% of the time, my initial video call does not go through to my partner; they only receive a “missed call” notification. The app also often shows my partner as offline when they are online. Thankfully, you can still send a call either way. But it takes more out-of-app communication to coordinate a session.

The Lovense Domi 2 is very reliable, and I recommend it instead if you plan to frequently use the long-distance features.

Comfort & Ease of Use

Comfort & Ease of Use Rating 7.8 8.7

Waterproof Rating IPX7 IPX7

The Smart Wand 2 is decently comfortable and easy to use.

The head (and most of the wand) is coated in a comfortable, smooth silicone. But the head is fairly firm with only slight flexibility. This makes it easier to apply substantial pressure, but also detracts a small amount from comfort.

Since the head is large, it’s best for broad stimulation rather than precise placement. Its bulky head doesn’t fit easily into tight spaces. But since the vibrations are so rumbly, they spread throughout a broad area of your body near the point of contact. So pinpoint placement isn’t really necessary.

Compared to other full-sized wands, it’s a relatively light weight. So it’s easier to maneuver than heavy wands.

Lelo Smart Wand 2 Large Grip Point 1
Two different ways to grip the Lelo Smart Wand 2 Large
Lelo Smart Wand 2 Large Grip Point 2

I find it easy to keep a firm grasp on the grippy handle. Its slender, curved shape provides several ways for you to comfortably grip the wand. But I feel the vibrations in the handle, which can be distracting if you’re sensitive to that.

The controls are easy to use, provide three separate buttons to increase power, decrease power, and cycle through vibration patterns. This is my favorite control system so that I don’t have to cycle through all the power levels to go back to a lower intensity. It’s quick and convenient for getting exactly what you want.

The Kiiroo ProWand is very comfortable and easy to use. It’s best for those who prefer mini wands – the compact size is easy to move around and fit into tight spots.

The slim head allows more precise contact than wands with large heads. Though the head is firm, the extreme flexibility of the neck keeps contact very comfortable. Though it takes extra effort to leverage for firm pressure because of this neck flexibility.

Kiiroo ProWand Head Compared to Other Wand Heads
The ProWand (left) has a unique slim and tall head.

The handle is long enough to provide several grip points, and slim enough to wrap your hand around easily.

The controls are excellent, allowing you to increase and decrease strength with separate buttons. If you like to adjust power levels frequently, this is important – it helps you get to your ideal setting quickly.

One downside is the noticeable light at the base of the handle. In the app, you can customize the light features by selecting the color and flashing sequence of the light during use. You can adjust it so that it doesn’t flash, but you cannot turn this light off entirely, which some people may find distracting.

Use During Sex

Use During Sex Rating 7.7 9.8
Lelo Smart Wand 2 - Large Fit in Tight Space
Kiiroo ProWand Fit in Tight Space
Spooning 7.5 10.0
Doggystyle 8.3 9.0
Modified Missionary 8.5 10.0
Cowgirl 6.5 10.0

The Large Lelo Smart Wand 2 provides strong, broad vibrations during sex. And I’d recommend it as long as you’re ok maneuvering a full-sized wand around.

The Smart Wand’s broad head requires you to be more conscious of how you angle your body in some positions than a small wand. For instance, in Cowgirl I need to lean slightly backward to open up more space to fit the Smart Wand’s head near my clit. In more open positions like Spooning you can easily position the head on your clit and leverage the Smart Wand 2.

For a full-sized wand it’s lightweight, so maneuvering it isn’t too difficult, but it’s still more tiring than small wands like the Lovense Domi 2. But with the Smart Wand 2’s length you can typically find a way to prop the wand on its handle to support the weight. For instance, in Doggystyle, I rest the base of the handle on the bed which keeps my arms from getting tired.

Lelo Smart Wand 2 Large Resting Weight on Bed
Propping the Lelo Smart Wand 2 Large on the bed to support the weight of the wand

In some positions like Missionary, I prefer to hold the wand near the head to put less strain on my wrist. The Lelo Smart Wand’s handle is pretty thick here which is a bit awkward for my small hands. It’s minimal discomfort – and if you typically grip near the handle’s base (where it’s slimmer) or have larger hands this won’t be an issue.

The Kiiroo ProWand is fantastic to use during sex. For a wand, it’s very slim and lightweight, allowing you to maneuver it easily, and it fits between you and a partner for great stimulation in any position.

The handle is shorter than full-sized wands but longer than most mini wands, giving you plenty of length to leverage without having to reach too far. In positions like doggystyle or spooning, you still have enough handle length to prop against the bed for support.

The slim head is especially important to me during partnered use, as larger heads can bump against my pubic bone painfully. With the ProWand’s tall, oval shape, I can easily limit contact to comfortable areas.

The Smart Wand 2 Large is a reasonably discreet wand. We test whether my partner can hear each wand standing directly on the other side of the closed door while I use the wand in the bedroom.

He cannot hear the middle or lower power levels. But he can hear the upper powers. This is pretty typical for a wand with this much vibration strength. But if you turn on a box fan or music in the bedroom, it completely masks the sound of the Smart Wand 2 Large even on high power.

It’s vibrations are also very low-frequency which tends to be less noticeable – they sound more like background noise than buzzy vibrators. So this is a good option if you live with others and need to remain discreet.

NOTE: This product has gotten louder over time. We’re unsure if it’s due to the wear and tear we put on the product in our unique testing and storage habits. The Noise Test Results currently represented for this product are based on our original testing when the product was new, since this is what you would receive upon ordering.

The Kiiroo ProWand is very quiet, making it an excellent choice if you have housemates and need something discreet.

In our test, my partner could not hear the vibrations on any setting from the other side of the bedroom door. As someone sensitive to sounds, I really like the noise levels of this wand and enjoy using it.

Attachment Compatibility

Attachment Compatibility Rating 9.8 3.3
Lelo Smart Wand 2 - Large Compatible Wand Attachments
Kiiroo ProWand Compatible Wand Attachments
Number of Attachments Rating 9.6 1.7
Stimulation Variety 10.0 5.0

Since the Lelo Smart Wand 2 Large has a head similar in size to other well-known brands like Magic Wand, it’s compatible with a broad variety of wand attachments. You can find a compatible attachment for nearly any type of stimulation including G-spot, anal, prostate, penis, clitoral, and dual-stimulation.

For the most part all the wand attachments we’ve tested that work with the Magic Wands also work with the Large Lelo Smart Wand 2. We’ve only encountered one so far that fit the Magic Wand, and was a bit loose on the Smart Wand – but even this attachment (which is actually designed for the Bodywand) was still useable.

The Kiiroo ProWand has very poor attachment compatibility. The slim head that makes it great to use during sex severely limits the number of usable attachments.

Most attachments are made for wands with larger heads. In my current collection, only two fit the ProWand well. You can find a few options, but you’ll have to hunt for them. If attachments are a priority, try a wand like the We-Vibe Wand 2 or Magic Wand Plus.

Compatibility with Wanda 8.0 7.0

I test my wands with the Liberator Axis and Wanda mounts for hands-free play.

The Lelo Wand works perfectly with the Axis mount! With this wedge-shaped mount, I lie on my stomach across the Axis as it holds the wand slightly upward between my legs.

This wand has 2 major aspects that give it an exceptional fit with the Axis: an upward curve, and a broad head.

The upward curve positions the Smart Wand’s head closer to my clit than straight wands. So it easily stays in contact with my clit and provides good pressure. I don’t need to focus on keeping my body in contact with the wand – I can just lie on the mount and enjoy the vibrations.

Wand In Use with Axis Overlay
My typical position when using the Liberator Axis mount (demonstrated with BMS PalmPower Extreme)

And the large round head provides a broad surface that disperses the pressure comfortably along my vulva. And its size helps it maintain good contact with my clit in addition to the upward curve.

It stays firmly in place, so I don’t have to worry about it shifting around.

This wand works well with the Wanda mount too. This mount holds the wand upright, as you straddle the mount. The Lelo Smart Wand’s head rests at a comfortable height to kneel over. Or you can lean forward onto your hands and knees. But it sits too high to comfortably lower your weight onto the wand and grind as you can with some smaller wands.

The smooth head provides a great, broad surface for even, comfortable pressure in that kneeling position or on your hands and knees.

We test our wands with the Liberator Axis and Wanda mounts. The Kiiroo ProWand works okay with these mounts, but not as well as wands with larger heads.

The Axis holds the ProWand at a slightly upward angle while you lie across the mount on your stomach. The slim head doesn’t offer much firm pressure, but the vibrations are still enjoyable – since they’re rumbly so they travel well even without great pressure. But if you want firm pressure and more consistent contact, an angled wand with a larger head works better, like the We-Vibe Wand 2 or BMS PalmPower Extreme.

FemmeFunn Ultra Wand vs BMS PalmPower Extreme in Axis Mount
A larger angled head (pink) provides better pressure than a smaller head with no upward angle (blue).

The Wanda holds the ProWand mostly upright – then you can sit on top of the mount for hands-free stimulation. This works well solo, but it would be difficult to pair with penetration from a partner – the wand’s too short for that, so you need to sit really low on the mount to keep contact with it. The slim head makes the contact surface less comfortable to press against since it’s not as broad.

The We-Vibe Wand 2 or BMS PalmPower Extreme are better in the Wanda mount for solo and partnered play.

During our testing the Large Lelo Smart Wand 2 lasted over 105 minutes running continuously on its highest power – over an hour and a half. And you can play even longer if you often use some of the lower powers.

You can definitely find some that last longer, but I’ve found this is plenty for me!

The Kiiroo ProWand is rechargeable with an excellent battery life. In my test, it lasted for almost five and a half hours on high power from a single charge. This is great news if you’re like me and often forget to charge your toys between uses.

However, when left running continuously for this long, it would sometimes automatically lower the power, likely as a motor-preservation feature. For testing purposes, I reset the power to high whenever this happened. Towards the very end of the test (after several hours), it also began to behave oddly, sometimes changing to an unprompted vibration pattern. These issues do not occur during normal, shorter-duration use, even up to a couple hours.

Build Quality

Build Quality Rating 7.5 7.5

The Lelo Smart Wand 2 is cased in smooth silicone with a shiny plastic section at the base of the handle. The materials and overall feel of the handle are luxurious and sturdy.

This wand has an odd design for the connection between the head and neck, that feels like the head’s floating on the neck. It feels somewhat loose and makes me a little nervous about the longevity. But so far, it has not caused any issues or broken. I will update if that ever happens.

The Kiiroo ProWand has good build quality. The silicone and buttons have a nice feel with no rough seams. The body is fairly lightweight, which could feel cheap to some, but also makes it easy to hold for long periods. The neck is very flexible and feels a little flimsy, but it hasn’t shown any signs of breaking.
