Vibrations: Power And Range

Max Power Rating 8.2 8.4
Power Range Rating 6.2 6.0
Power vs Frequency Graph
How Strong Is Each Power?

The Le Wand Rechargeable has moderate to high-powered vibrations, and it’s surprisingly 9% stronger than the corded Le Wand Plug-In. It has 8 intensity levels, so increasing power is gradual. But it begins already fairly strong – there are no truly gentle levels for when you’re warming up.

And although the Le Wand Rechargeable is strong it has one of the weakest top-power levels for a wand its size. This may not matter to you – many people never use the upper strengths on their wand vibrators. But since it’s priced so high, I’d expect to have the option.

Le Wand Rechargeable with Smaller and Stronger Wands
Le Wand (left) vs stronger wands of comparable size – BMS PalmPower Extreme (middle) and Magic Wand Plus (right)

Wands this large and heavy are also more difficult to leverage for good pressure – so more natural power is nice to have. So if you like this size, I would recommend getting a stronger one like the BMS PalmPower Extreme or Magic Wand Plus.

And if you’re really on the hunt for the highest power – the Doxy Die Cast is the strongest wand massager I own.

Each of these also has a softer warmup power level.

The Le Wand Die Cast Plug-In wand has an excellent top strength of 7.5 out of 10, but a sub-par power range.

Its top power levels feel extremely intense to me – I don’t personally need this much power and prefer to stick to the lower levels. But those who want intensity will enjoy its top settings.

The first setting’s 5.5 strength is already somewhat strong (though it is a bit gentler than the Le Wand Die Cast Rechargeable’s first setting). While I find it to be a comfortable starting level, it may be overwhelming if you need a very mild warmup.

With 10 power levels, steps between settings are comfortable. But it’s just a narrow range – you’ve got to only need moderate to intense stimulation.

The Doxy Die Cast (right) has a wider power range than the Le Wand Die Cast Plug In (left).

If you need a wider power range, consider the Doxy Die Cast.

Vibrations: Frequency (Rumbliness)

Frequency on Low Power 75 Hz 88 Hz
Median Frequency 94 Hz 144 Hz
Frequency on High Power 104 Hz 170 Hz
Power and Frequency Balance 6.6 6.3

We rate rumbly wands higher than buzzy wands since most people prefer rumbliness. But vibration frequency is a personal preference. Consider what you enjoy!

The Le Wand Rechargeable is a buzzy vibrator. But it’s not too far on the buzzy side, so some people will enjoy it.

Only the lowest level falls (just barely) in the moderately rumbly range. Most of its power levels feel buzzy. Even though I enjoy some buzzy vibrators, high-frequency vibrations with this much power feel really uncomfortable to me.

If you want a powerful wand like the Le Wand Rechargeable, most people will prefer something with more rumbliness. Consider a strong, rumbly wand like the Magic Wand Rechargeable, or We-Vibe Wand 2.

We rate rumbly wands higher than buzzy wands since most people prefer rumbliness. However, it’s a personal preference, and some, including myself, enjoy buzzy vibrations.

The Le Wand Die Cast Plug-In wand is one of the most buzzy wands I own. It reaches a higher frequency than any comparably powerful wand I’ve tested.

This wand is great at targeting a precise area since buzzy vibes don’t spread out as far or travel as deep as rumbly vibrations. I enjoy the better surface-level stimulation they provide at this strength. However, the We-Vibe Wand 2 is a better choice if you prefer the kind of stimulation that travels deeper.

The Le Wand Die Cast (a buzzy wand) vs the Fun Factory Vim (a rumbly wand) and the Doxy Die Cast (a wand with both rumbly and buzzy settings)

If you’re unsure exactly what you prefer, the Doxy Die Cast has rumbly vibrations on low, neutral at mid-strength, and buzzy vibrations on high. So you get a bit of everything.

While very few of my wands, including the Le Wand, are really uncomfortable – I consider this wand one of the more difficult to use.

The main problem is that it’s heavy. And the weight is distributed in a way that makes it feel even heavier than others with a similar weight like the Magic Wand Rechargeable.

The handle is also a little wider than I find comfortable with no contouring to help (like the Viben Sultry has, for instance). So it can grow tiring during long sessions. The mid-sized Le Wand Dive is much easier to grip and maneuver.

Le Wand Rechargeable Head Plushness
The firm head of the Le Wand (top) vs the plush head of the Magic Wand Rechargeable (bottom)
Magic Wand Head Plushness

I also find the head too firm for my taste. I am ok with a firm head on smaller wands. But the Le Wand Rechargeable’s head is large enough that it bumps against my pubic bone occasionally. And without a squishy head, this can be uncomfortable.

I prefer large wands with plush heads like the Magic Wand Rechargeable or Magic Wand Plus.

Note: The handle material does affect the experience. My Le Wand Rechargeable, which I ordered in “white”, is a shiny, grippier plastic, which sticks to my hand better. I ordered the Le Wand Plug-In in “cream”, which has a matte finish, and this slides in my hand more easily, so it takes more effort to hold. Since you can’t select the exact handle material (only the color), you can contact the manufacturer before purchasing to ensure you get your desired finish if this matters to you.

The Le Wand Die Cast Plug-In Vibrating Massager is comfortable and easy to use.

I don’t feel the vibrations in my hand at all – the aluminum alloy handle does an amazing job of dampening them. This wand’s heavy weight also applies excellent pressure naturally without much need for me to leverage it with my wrist or arm. Despite its weight, it’s still quick to maneuver since it’s relatively short and has a small head, which fits easily into tight spaces.

Le Wand Die Cast Head compared to Doxy Die Cast Head and Orion Head
The Le Wand Die Cast Plug In’s small head next to larger head of the Orion Your New Favorite Wand (middle) and Doxy Die Cast (right)

The head is very firm and attached with a slightly flexible neck, but I still find it comfortable to press firmly against me since I can limit contact to a softer body region. It’s easy to avoid bony spots where the firm head could bump against uncomfortably (this precise positioning is harder to accomplish with a large head).

Le Wand Die Cast Plug In Buttons
The button controls on the Le Wand Die Cast Plug-In to control power and patterns

Two separate buttons allow you to increase and decrease strength, and a third lets you cycle through the 19 vibration patterns. With all the settings on this wand, the three-button system makes it easy to get where you want quickly.

Turning the toy off and on will also reset it to its lowest power at a steady vibration – this offers a quick way to return to the constant vibration mode if you accidentally switch to a pattern. You don’t need to cycle through all the settings.

The buttons are also placed in a good spot on the wand. I don’t find myself accidentally pressing the buttons. But it’s easy to feel them without looking, so I’m not distracted when changing power levels.

Use During Sex

Use During Sex Rating 6.5 7.8
Le Wand Rechargeable Fit in Tight Space
Le Wand Die Cast Plug-In Vibrating Massager Fit in Tight Space
Spooning 5.9 7.0
Doggystyle 7.0 7.0
Modified Missionary 7.0 8.0
Cowgirl 6.0 9.0

As with general comfort, I also find the Le Wand Rechargeable more difficult to use during sex than other large wands. Mainly due to its weight, firm head, and buzzy vibrations.

It’s tiring to use the Le Wand in positions where you’re holding the wand’s weight up, like Spooning and Doggystyle.

Missionary is the easiest position to hold it in since I’m lying on my back, and the weight adds natural pressure. But the large, rounded head is difficult to fit in tight spots, so I can’t position the head very near to my clit. I feel the vibrations that manage to travel through my body rather than enjoying direct contact like I typically prefer with more buzzy wands like this.

Because the vibrations are buzzy, I also have to press them harder against me to feel them effectively. So I have to leverage this heavy wand even more! Whereas rumbly vibrations naturally travel deeper.

The firm head also bumps into me uncomfortably with a lot of movement during sex. I’d prefer a more plush head. A curved handle or angled head would also help fit this wand’s large head into tight spaces without discomfort.

Le Wand Rechargeable vs BMS PalmPower Extreme Use During Sex
The Le Wand (left) vs a stronger and easier-to-hold option: the BMS PalmPower Extreme (right)

If you want a powerful wand that’s easy to use during sex, consider the BMS PalmPower Extreme – one of my personal favorites. It’s stronger, lighter, and has a helpful angled head.

The Le Wand Die Cast Plug-In wand is good during sex.

It’s best in positions where you’re holding the wand’s head down (like Modified Missionary or Cowgirl), so its weight naturally rests against your body. This provides good pressure against your vulva and doesn’t tire your arm. And the small head and mid-length handle fit more easily than full-sized  wands into the tight spaces during these face-to-face positions.

Since this wand is heavy, it’s more tiring in positions where you’re holding it up, like Spooning and Doggystyle. If you tire easily, you can prop the handle on a pillow to help support its weight. And you can get good contact with your clit either way. But if these positions are your priority, a lighter wand like the Lovense Domi 2 or BMS PalmPower Extreme is better.

Unfortunately, the Le Wand is one of my loudest wands. And you can’t simply keep the power low to be discreet. The lowest level is almost as loud as the highest setting!

When my partner sits on the other side of our bedroom door, he can hear me using the Le Wand Rechargeable on all power levels. However, turning on a fan or music does drown it out.

But there are definitely quieter options if sound is a priority. The Magic Wand Rechargeable and especially the We-Vibe Wand 2 are powerful wand massagers with more discreet sound levels.

The Le Wand Die Cast Plug-In wand is loud.

When I used this in the bedroom, my partner heard it on all power levels from the other side of our closed door. He did note that he could barely hear the lower settings, and thought no one would hear unless they were actively listening for the sound. The middle and upper settings were easily audible. The only way we could mask the sound of the top settings was to play music in the bedroom.

The sound itself isn’t annoying or distracting – it’s a very clean sound. But there are better options like the We-Vibe Wand 2 if you have housemates.

Attachment Compatibility

Le Wand Rechargeable Compatible Wand Attachments
Le Wand Die Cast Plug-In Vibrating Massager Compatible Wand Attachments
Number of Attachments Rating 10.0 5.4
Stimulation Variety 10.0 8.8

The Le Wand Rechargeable is compatible with a large variety of wand attachments.

Le Wand has several attachments designed specifically for this wand. And since the head size is close enough to the full-sized Magic Wands, it’s also compatible with attachments designed for them.

Whatever stimulation you’re looking for (G-spot, anal, penis, dual-stimulation, etc.), you can find an attachment that fits the Le Wand Rechargeable.

But since the Magic Wand Rechargeable and Magic Wand Plus have the same attachment compatibility and outperform the Le Wand in other areas, I’d consider one of them instead.

The Le Wand Die Cast Plug-In has okay compatibility with attachments but is not as good as full-sized wands.

The Le Wand Petite attachments and a few others work well with it. The stimulation variety in this mix was good, but a larger head like the Doxy Die Cast’s will have more compatible attachments.

For a list of the attachments we’ve tested for compatibility with the Le Wand Die Cast Plug-In, see our wand attachment compatibility table here.

Compatibility with Wanda 8.0 7.4

The Le Wand Rechargeable works fairly well with wand mounts for hands-free stimulation! The two mounts I test my wands with are the Liberator Axis and Wanda.

Of the two, the Le Wand works better with the Axis mount. With this wand mount, you lie across it on your stomach, and the Axis holds the wand to your clit at a slight upward angle. It gives effortless clit stimulation in a relaxing position. But better yet, you can enjoy the vibes during sex with your partner penetrating from behind.

Wand In Use with Axis Overlay
My typical position when using the Liberator Axis mount (demonstrated with BMS PalmPower Extreme)

The Le Wand’s larger handle keeps this wand in place well. And the tall, broad head provides lots of surface area to receive clit stimulation from. So the Le Wand stays in great contact with my clit and provides good pressure. The only wands I like better with this mount are angled or have a curved handle – like the BMS Palmpower Extreme or Dame Com.

Le Wand Rechargeable Used with Wanda Mount
The Le Wand in the Liberator Wanda mount

Le Wand Rechargeable is trickier with the Wanda mount. This mount holds the more upright. Then you straddle the mount as it holds the wand to your clit.

The Le Wand is slightly taller than I’d like for the Wanda – I can’t rest my weight down on it. If you’re taller than me, it may work better for you. I’m 5’4” for reference.

In general, I find slightly shorter wands like the BMS PalmPower Extreme easier to use with the Liberator Wanda mount.

I test my wands with the Liberator Axis and Wanda mounts for hands-free play. The Le Wand Die Cast Plug-In works decently with both.

You’re more limited in the Axis mount because of this wand’s small head size. The small head doesn’t naturally reach your clit as much. It applies some light pressure but not to the extent that a full-sized head or angled head does in this mount. You may need to situate your body more intentionally to keep the head in consistent contact with your clit.

It works better in the Wanda mount. You can sit directly on the mount for hands-free stimulation or kneel above it during sex. The shorter handle means I have to sink down a little lower than usual to keep consistent contact with my clit, but it’s still enjoyable. If you need to, you can also place a pillow under the mount to position the wand’s head higher.

Battery life is where the Le Wand Rechargeable really crushed it. It has one of the longest battery lives of any of my rechargeable wands at 224 minutes on high power. And you can use it while plugged in (a rare feature for rechargeable wands), so you don’t need to wait for the battery to charge.

That being said – I don’t think a long battery life is reason enough to justify the high price of this wand. And there are several other high-powered wands that will provide 2+ hours of play easily, including the Magic Wand Rechargeable (which you can also use while plugged in) and We-Vibe Wand 2.

The Le Wand Die Cast Plug-In wand is corded. You’ll need to play near an outlet, but you don’t even need to worry about charging it.

The cord is 8 feet long and comes with 4 adapters for US, UK, EU, and AUS outlets.

Build Quality

Build Quality Rating 9.0 9.0

The plastic handle of the Le Wand Rechargeable feels much thicker and more sturdy than the handle of the Petite. The neck is thick and strong, so I’m not worried about applying firm pressure.

Compared to the Magic Wand, the Le Wand’s firm silicone head is not as high-quality and the buttons are not as comfortable to use. But it’s still a well-built and solid wand.

The Le Wand Die Cast Plug-In Vibrating Massager has excellent build quality.

Its heavy aluminum-alloy handle feels solid, durable, and well-built. The neck is slightly flexible and not flimsy at all – I’m not afraid to apply firm pressure. The smooth head has tight seams rounded off for a comfortable contoured shape. The head is firm with a silicone coating and seems solid, but maybe not as luxurious as a plush silicone head.
