The Doxy Die Cast is the most powerful wand I own – slightly stronger than the rechargeable version, the Doxy Die Cast R.

The “10” on my vibration power scale is based on this wand’s highest setting. In fact, all of its top 3 settings are stronger than my second-most powerful wand. So the Die Cast is a wand for those on a search for extreme intensity.

But it also has some softer settings for those like me who prefer moderate strength – a major benefit over the rechargeable version, which lacks any warmup settings.

It starts at about 20% power which is a perfect strength for warming up. This power still feels impactful, but not overwhelming. I spend a lot of time on this first setting. Once I’m ready, I’ll jump to the second level, which is around 73% of its full power.

This second power is already substantially more powerful than my non-wand vibrators (like G-spot vibes, rabbits, etc.). But it’s still not overstimulating, and this power is rumbly so I really enjoy the second level!

And that’s as far as I venture. The rest of the settings have enormous power. And even on the first two levels, I wear underwear and leggings to dull the intensity a bit.

If you typically prefer mild stimulation, a wand with more gentle settings like the Dame Com may be better for you. If you love power, the Doxy Die Cast is excellent!

The We-Vibe Wand 2 has an intense top power of 7.33 out of 10 and an excellent power range, starting at a gentle 1.7 out of 10 strength.

This power range is wonderful for those who can get easily overstimulated because its lowest settings are very mild. With 10 intensity levels, steps between settings are gradual and comfortable. There’s one little jump, but it’s not distracting at all. And with such a broad range, you’re very likely to find settings at your ideal strength.

While there are some wands with an even more intense top setting, the We-Vibe Wand 2’s maximum strength of 7.33 is plenty for me. It’s about 1.2x stronger than the original We-Vibe Wand, and it packs an intensity that I consider extreme. Plus, since this wand is rumbly, the vibrations are especially impactful.

If you want more intensity, consider the BMS PalmPower Extreme or Lovense Domi 2. But most people will be happy with the We-Vibe Wand 2’s power.

We rate rumbly wands higher than buzzy wands since most people prefer rumbliness.

The Doxy Die Cast has excellent rumbliness on its lower power levels. But when you increase a wand’s power, its vibrations always become buzzier. And the Die Cast’s vibrations are extremely buzzy on its highest levels. These buzzy upper levels are what bring the wand’s overall rumbliness rating down.

But what you’ll experience depends on whether you’ll spend most of your time using the Die Cast’s moderate lower levels or its extreme upper levels. Since I only use the first two power levels, I enjoy deep, rumbly vibrations the entire time. But if you want a wand with many more rumbly settings, consider the We-Vibe Wand 2. Or the Orion Grande Wand is not as well-rounded but has exceptionally powerful rumbly vibrations.

But the Doxy Die Cast’s second setting has impressive rumbliness for how much power it packs! This setting’s vibration strength is 7.3 (out of 10). But it vibrates with more rumbliness than most wands with comparable power like the Le Wand Rechargeable, Viben Sultry, and others.

The third power level feels neutral: neither rumbly nor buzzy. And the rest of the Die Cast’s settings are buzzy! If you prefer extreme intensity with less buzziness, consider the BMS PalmPower Extreme. Its only slightly less powerful than the Doxy Die Cast, but it’s less buzzy.

If you’re like me and will usually stick to the moderately powerful settings, the Doxy Die Cast will be a lovely, rumbly wand for you.

We rate wands with rumbly vibrations higher than buzzy ones because it’s what most people prefer.

The We-Vibe Wand 2 has excellent rumbliness. Its vibrations are even deeper than the original version’s (which was famous for being a rumbly wand). And the updated wand’s settings are stronger while being more rumbly which is a great improvement.

Every power level is extremely or moderately rumbly except for the top strength, which has a neutral feel – this wand never becomes buzzy.

The We-Vibe Wand 2 also has a very similar vibration profile to the famous Magic Wand Rechargeable. If you look at the graph below, notice how the two wands’ vibrations lie along nearly the same curve. Since their vibrations are so similar, the We-Vibe Wand 2 is a great waterproof alternative to the Magic Wand Rechargeable, which has no water protection.

If you enjoy deep vibrations that travel into your body and impact a wide area, the We-Vibe Wand 2 is one of the best choices.

In the next sections, I’ll cover the We-Vibe app’s Close-Range Features, its Long-Distance Features, and its Connectivity in detail, and I’ll share videos demoing the app.

But here’s the main conclusion:

The We-Vibe app’s close-range features are decent for controlling the We-Vibe Wand 2.

The close-range features provide useful but basic control over your vibrations – mainly allowing you to select from preset patterns and change their intensity. Whereas other apps like Lovense’s provide a higher degree of customization, letting you create your own patterns in the moment, enjoy patterns other users have shared, and much more.

If in-depth control of your vibrations is a priority, the Lovense Domi 2 is a better wand for you. But if more basic control is fine, here’s what you can do in We-Vibe’s app:

In Single Vibe Mode, you select a predesigned vibration pattern, then drag the on-screen dot up or down to change the intensity.

If you want to change quickly between different vibration patterns, use the Multi-Vibe mode. Here, you can assign a different vibration pattern to each corner of the screen. When you drag the dot into a corner, that pattern starts vibrating. Drag the dot farther from the center to make the vibrations more powerful.

You used to be able to create your own pattern by drawing it on the screen, but this feature was very clunky and is no longer available. Instead, you can create your own custom “playlist” by combining pre-made patterns and adjusting their intensity and duration. We don’t know whether We-Vibe intends to bring back an improved pattern creation feature in the future.

Touch Mode lets you control the vibration intensity by moving your fingers across your screen. The faster you move, the stronger the vibrations are. It’s tiring, so I don’t use this feature.

Beat Mode lets you select a song saved on your phone, and the We-Vibe Wand vibrates to the music. Ambient Mode is similar, but the vibrations respond to the noise around you that your phone’s mic picks up. With both of these features, you can adjust whether the vibrations respond to the treble, midrange, or bass sounds, and you can adjust how strong the vibrations are.

I usually use these sound modes (especially Beat Mode) as a set-it-and-forget-it way to control my We-Vibe toys. The vibrations continually change without my active input. But it’s usually more fun with a wearable toy like the We-Vibe Chorus or We-Vibe Sync.

The We-Vibe Wand 2 (and the original version) are my only app-controlled wands with full-sized heads. The main control screens (Single Vibe and Multi Vibe) work well – they’re just basic. So if you want a full-sized wand with app control as a bonus, the We-Vibe Wand 2 is a good choice.
But if the app is your biggest priority, I recommend the Lovense Domi 2 instead. It’s a smaller wand but has better app functionality and features.

When you can get connected with your partner, the We-Vibe app’s long-distance features are pretty good – but there are some connection issues during long-distance play that are not present during nearby play (I discuss that issue in detail in the Connectivity section).

Within the app, you can send messages, photos, or video chat with your partner anywhere in the world. Your long-distance partner will use the same Single or Multi-Vibe control panels that you use during close-range play. So they can easily select a pattern and adjust its intensity.

You can mute the mic or turn off the camera if you’d prefer to provide control of your wand without sharing visuals or audio. And if your partner has a We-Vibe toy, you can control each others’ toys simultaneously!

You can save multiple partners in the app, but you can’t send out anonymous links like you can with Lovense. Anyone controlling your toy will need your We-Vibe username.

Overall, We-Vibe’s app provides all the necessary long-distance features. But Lovense’s features are more extensive, allowing anonymous play, customized settings for each partner such as allowing them to take control of your toy without requiring permission first, and more.

So if long-distance play is a major priority, the Lovense Domi 2 is a better wand (also because its long-distance connection is better – discussed next).

The We-Vibe Wand 2 has reliable connectivity with the app in nearby Bluetooth mode, but its connection during long-distance play is unreliable.

For nearby play, the wand connects quickly and easily to the app over Bluetooth. The app walks you through connecting to your toy each time, and the process works consistently. I reliably pair the We-Vibe Wand in just a few seconds. And once it’s connected, it maintains the connection well. I don’t encounter issues with it dropping its connection, even after long periods of time.

In our test, we also separated the We-Vibe Wand 2 from the connected phone by about 275 feet before it lost its connection (your own results may vary). So, the Bluetooth range is excellent.

However, the connection during long-distance play is unreliable due to a glitch in the We-Vibe app that has appeared on and off over the years. If you need reliable long-distance play, get the Lovense Domi 2 instead.

The We-Vibe app sometimes shows both partners’ status as “offline” even though we are both online. When this glitch happens, you cannot share control of your wand at all because the app won’t let you send an invite to your partner. When this issue has occurred, we’ve tried several workarounds with limited success. Neither updating the app, deleting the We-Vibe app and redownloading it, nor trying to create a new partner profile have resolved the issue. What has worked for us is this:

1. Both partners need to open the settings tab in the We-Vibe app and select Factory Reset.
2. Then when you go to connect your We-Vibe Wand 2, you will be prompted to update the vibrator’s firmware. Go ahead and update it.
3. Then, re-add your partner in the We-Vibe app. At this point, we’ve been able to connect again long-distance.

We don’t know whether this solution universally works for everyone, but it’s what has worked for us. Anytime we get connected, we’re able to stay connected. But as you can see, getting connected in the first place is often frustrating.

We-Vibe also updates their app frequently. Sometimes, it seems to take care of this issue, and we go weeks or months without experiencing the glitch. But then one day, we log into the app, and the issue returns. So we recommend Lovense if long-distance play is a priority since they have been consistently excellent for years.

For nearby play, we have had several years of consistently great connection from We-Vibe. But their long-distance connection has not proven to have the same reliability.

The Doxy Die Cast is a great fit if you enjoy the broad stimulation a full-sized wand provides and like the extra pressure that a heavy wand naturally applies.

The Die Cast’s large head comfortably spreads the vibrations over a broad area. I feel its strong vibrations throughout my entire vulva. And the smooth silicone head has a bit of plushness to it, which makes it comfortable to press against my body.

This is also my heaviest wand massager. When lying on my back, the Die Cast’s weight naturally applies delicious pressure against my body with no need to leverage the handle myself. It automatically pushes the vibrations deeper into me for richer-feeling stimulation.

The heavy weight makes it more difficult to maneuver or make quick adjustments than smaller, lighter wands. But since the vibrations are exceptionally powerful, I don’t need to position the Die Cast very precisely. I can place it roughly near my clit and get plenty of stimulation! So I enjoy this wand’s additional weight. But if you have wrist or maneuverability issues, you may want a lighter, more compact wand like the Lovense Domi.

The handle takes some effort to grip due to the width and overall weight. But it’s not a problem for me, since I’m not angling and leveraging the Doxy Die Cast like I am with smaller, less powerful wands.

The buttons are easy to use. Their silicone texture is comfortable – and there are separate buttons to increase and decrease power. Some wands only provide a single button to cycle through intensities.

It’s not waterproof, but you can remove the silicone head to clean it better.

Though its full-size and heavy weight makes fine-tuned maneuvering and positioning more difficult, it helps in other aspects like pressure. If you typically enjoy full-sized wands, the Doxy Die Cast provides an easy, comfortable experience overall.

The We-Vibe Wand 2 is very comfortable and easy to use.

This wand has better controls than most wand vibrators, with four primary buttons. It has two separate buttons to increase and decrease power. And two more buttons allow you to move forward and backward through the patterns. Most other wands only have a single button to rotate through patterns, which can be frustrating if you accidentally click once too far.

In my opinion, the buttons are an improvement from the original We-Vibe Wand’s joystick, which was quite stiff. So, I often had to use two hands to adjust the power of the original We-Vibe Wand. And it was easy to overshoot your intended power level. This isn’t so with the updated version.

The buttons to change the patterns also feel distinctly different from those to adjust the power, which is rare. So I don’t accidentally change the pattern when trying to increase the intensity because you can tell the correct button just from its feel.

The rigid, curved handle and slightly flexible neck make it easy to leverage the wand and apply pressure. And the head’s slight plushness keeps this pressure against your body comfortable – though it’s not quite as soft as the Magic Wand Rechargeable’s silicone.

A slight annoyance is that the handle’s curve rests awkwardly in my hand if I use it with the curve facing toward me. In this orientation, the handle only contacts the outside edge of my palm and the space between my thumb and index finger, so the pressure is not dispersed evenly along the full length of my palm as most handles do. It may feel a bit awkward – especially if you’re using it for a long time.

I prefer using it with the curve pointing away from me because gripping it this way is more comfortable. This also points the tapered section of the head towards me, which is great for more focused pressure, which I enjoy.

The vibrations travel some into your hand, especially on the highest power. It’s less than most wands this strong, but for those who are already sensitive to this, it may be slightly distracting if you use this wand for an extended period.

The shape of the We-Vibe Wand 2’s head was updated, and I love the new design because it’s more versatile. The original version’s head was a more typical cylindrical shape, so you got broad pressure from the side of the head or more focused pressure using the lip.

The new wand’s head offers even more variation because it’s wider on the front side, narrower on the back side, and still has the lip at the top. So using the front of the head, you get very broad contact that blankets your entire vulva. The tapered backside provides a long stretch of slimmer surface area that’s between broad and focused stimulation. And the lip at the top lets you limit contact to a more precise spot.

Large and small wands each have pros and cons during partnered sex.

The Doxy Die Cast takes up a decent amount of space with its long handle and large head. So if you want to fit it into tight spaces, you have to be more intentional about how you position your bodies. For instance, to use the Die Cast in Cowgirl, I need to lean back slightly to fit the head closer to my clit. On the other hand, I can effortlessly maneuver a small wand like the Lovense Domi exactly where I want it during sex.

The Die Cast’s heavy weight also takes effort to hold to my clit in some positions – mostly in positions like Doggystyle where I’m holding the wand’s weight up. But its long handle actually comes in handy here – I can help support the weight of the wand by resting the base of the handle on the bed. I find this easy to do in Doggystyle and Spooning positions.

And in Missionary, I love the weight of the Die Cast. It naturally applies pressure on my vulva and adds to the stimulation I’m enjoying.

Strength is another aspect the Doxy Die Cast has going for it during sex.

Because the vibrations are so powerful, I don’t need to position the head as precisely as I do with a small wand. Pressing the vibrations just above or anywhere near my clit provides all the stimulation I need.

So it still works well during sex even with limited space. But you may need to experiment more to find ways of supporting its weight, or positioning your bodies that work for you. And the clit stimulation during sex will more likely be indirect since you won’t always be able to place the head right on your clit.

The We-Vibe Wand 2 is excellent to use during sex.

It’s fantastic in the Spooning position because you have plenty of space in front of you to maneuver the handle, and the tall head applies comfortable, evenly distributed pressure.

Even in positions facing your partner where space is limited, you can still get good contact in pretty tight spots because the cylindrical head shape and tapered section help it fit more easily than large, rounded heads. And even when you can’t fit the head right near your clit, the rumbly vibrations travel well in any position, so the stimulation is still excellent.

The only position I found a bit trickier to use the We-Vibe Wand 2 is Doggystyle. The wand is a little heavy, and since the handle is somewhat short, you can’t easily prop the base against the bed to support the weight. However, you can put a pillow under the wand if your arm gets tired from holding it up.

The Doxy Die Cast’s lower levels are discreet, but you’ll need to play music to mask its extremely powerful upper levels so any housemates don’t hear.

My partner cannot hear the lowest power when standing directly on the other side of our closed bedroom door. This power is still strong enough that I orgasm easily from it. And he can only hear the second setting (my favorite) if the house is extremely quiet and I’m moving the Die Cast around a lot so the motor’s sound keeps changing.

The third level and higher can be heard by someone standing right on the other side of the door. Extreme power is simply loud – every wand we’ve tried is audible in a silent house at that strength.

But there are solutions. I can use the Doxy Die Cast’s entire power range discreetly as long as I’m playing music in the bedroom.

The We-Vibe Wand 2 has excellent noise levels, especially considering its power.

When we tested the wand’s noise while I used it in the bedroom, my partner could not hear it from the other side of the door on any of its settings, including the highest power. It’s fantastic if you need something discreet without sacrificing power.

The We-Vibe Wand 2 also has a unique optional feature called Smart Silence, which prevents the wand from vibrating unless pressed against your body. This can also be helpful for discretion since many toys are louder when vibrating in the open air than when pressed to your body (In our tests, it was quiet enough even without using the Smart Silence feature, but this gives you an extra level of reassurance).

The Smart Silence feature works well. The vibrations start and stop instantly upon pressing it to my body and lifting it off. And it can tell whether the head is in contact with me or some other random object. If you do not like this feature, it’s easy to turn off.

The Doxy Die Cast is one of many full-sized wands with excellent attachment compatibility.

Most attachments are designed for the Magic Wand Rechargeable and similarly-sized wands. Since the Die Cast’s head width is very close to the Magic Wand Rechargeable, the same attachments fit the Die Cast (Note – there may be some attachments that fit the Magic Wand, but not the Doxy. However, every attachment we’ve tested so far that fits the Magic Wand also fits the Doxy Die Cast)

You can find compatible attachments for a broad variety of stimulation. There are compatible attachments for G-spot, anal, prostate, clitoral, penis, and dual-stimulation. The We-Vibe Wand 2 works wonderfully with wand attachments.

Its head size is close to major full-sized wands like the Magic Wands or Doxy Wands, so most attachments are designed for heads about this size. You can find a ton of compatible attachments that offer a broad range of stimulation.

Unfortunately, the We-Vibe Wand 2 does not come with its own attachments like the original version did. However, the old We-Vibe Wand’s attachments are compatible with the new one!

I test my wands with the Axis and Wanda mounts from Liberator. These wand mounts hold your massager so you can play hands-free.

The Axis and Doxy Die Cast work really well together! The handle slides in horizontally, tilting the wand slightly upward between your legs. I can lie comfortably on my stomach across the mount, straddling the head to receive clitoral stimulation.

These two pair well together because the Die Cast’s handle is fairly thick, so the wand stays wedged firmly in place. It does not shift around like some thinner wands. And I don’t need to intentionally position my body to keep the wand in contact with my clit – its large head naturally reaches my clit and provides comfortable, broad pressure and excellent stimulation.

The Wanda holds your wand in a mostly upright position. Then you’ll straddle the wand and mount – either kneeling or leaning forward onto your elbows and knees (like in Doggystyle). Some shorter wands allow you to lower your weight and sit directly on the mount. But full-sized wands like the Doxy stick out too far for that.

The Doxy Die Cast’s head is positioned at an excellent height when you’re positioned on your elbows and knees. The tall head provides a broad surface area making it easier to keep the wand in contact with your clit. And the slight lip where the side of the Die Cast’s head transitions to the top provides a more focused surface I can use for direct pressure!

The We-Vibe Wand 2 is fantastic in my wand mounts. We test our wands with the Liberator Axis and Wanda mounts for hands-free play.

You can face the curve in either direction when placed in the Wanda mount, which makes the We-Vibe Wand 2 especially versatile. One direction positions the wand’s head higher up so you can kneel over the mount for penetration from behind. Or face the wand the other way so the head lies just above the mount’s fabric – this way, you can comfortably sit directly on the mount for hands-free stimulation.

It also works well in the Liberator Axis. The tall head and slight upward curve help it reach your clit more easily than other wands. And the broad head provides plenty of good surface area for comfortable, enjoyable stimulation. It doesn’t provide as firm of pressure as a more sharply angled head like the BMS PalmPower Extreme’s, but it’s still excellent. The deep, rumbly vibrations also travel deep to stimulate really well.

The Doxy Die Cast is a plug-in wand, so technically you have unlimited battery life. You don’t have to worry about charging it beforehand – it’s always ready to go.

But you do have to use it near an outlet. The cord is 10 feet long though, so there’s plenty of room. I never feel restricted.

The Doxy Die Cast also comes with adapters for UK, EU, US & AU power sources.

The We-Vibe Wand 2 is rechargeable and has a fantastic battery life, lasting 147 minutes on its highest power in our test. This is well above average and plenty of time for me. I can use it multiple times between charges.

It comes with We-Vibe’s typical USB magnetic charging cable.

The Doxy Die Cast’s build quality is somewhat controversial.

Its aluminum-titanium handle and weighty head look and feel luxurious. The substantial weight and heavy-duty materials make it feel durable. I’ve had my Doxy Die Cast since October 2022, and I’ve had no issues with it so far. Everything is still functioning exactly as it did the day I got the Die Cast, and I like the heavy-duty feel.

However, when reading through customer feedback, I see split experiences. Some people say they’ve had it for years without issue:

I’ve had no issues with mine since 2022. I will update this Doxy Die Cast review if I ever experience an issue. The Doxy Die Cast also has a one-year warranty. By that time, you’ll likely know if the way you typically use the wand can damage it.

The We-Vibe Wand 2 has excellent build quality. The buttons feel much higher quality than the joystick control of the original We-Vibe Wand. The motor sounds better and doesn’t rattle like the older one.

The silky silicone coats most of the toy and feels very luxurious, with plush sections on the head that are really comfortable. It feels like a solid and well-built toy. The neck seems very secure too – I apply pressure without feeling worried I’ll damage the wand.
