Our Verdict

Note: The We-Vibe Tango X has replaced the We-Vibe Tango. The original Tango is still available while supplies last but is no longer in production.

The We-Vibe Tango is an extremely rumbly bullet with a great power range providing comfortable low, medium, and high settings – though nothing too extreme. The original Tango is no longer being produced and is steeply discounted while stock remains. As a result, it’s currently the most budget-friendly option for those who prefer strong, extremely rumbly vibrations.

You’ll make some trade-offs with the older version of the Tango: it has just 4 intensity levels instead of the Tango X’s 8, but they span the same power range. It has just one button to cycle through patterns and intensity levels, whereas the Tango X has separate buttons for each function. And the original Tango does not have a silicone grip.

The original Tango’s thin shape and lipstick tip are excellent for precise stimulation. This bullet is also easy to use and comfortable during solo play or partnered sex. If you don’t mind the trade-offs mentioned above, the original We-Vibe Tango is an excellent rumbly bullet vibrator at an affordable price.

Check Prices:

Pros

  • Extremely deep and rumbly vibrations at the most cost-effective price.
  • Low, medium, and high power levels provide a comfortable and effective range for most people.
  • Very comfortable and easy to use during solo play or during sex.
  • Long battery life.
  • Waterproof and easy to clean.

Cons

  • Can become noisy on high powers if it’s held in plain air and not pressed against your body.
  • Uses a single button to cycle through all its intensity levels and vibration patterns

The We-Vibe Tango has been replaced by the We-Vibe Tango X. The original Tango is still available while supplies last but is no longer in production. Compare the We-Vibe Tango vs Tango X here.

The We-Vibe Tango line is one of the most famous bullet vibrator lineups on the market. People enjoy these bullets for their rumbly motors.

The We-Vibe Tango is made of body-safe ABS Plastic, is USB rechargeable, and is IPX7 waterproof for easy cleaning. It has one button to cycle through its 4 intensity levels and 4 vibration patterns. It’s missing the upgraded Tango X’s silicone handle, travel lock, and silk storage bag. The upgraded model also has 4 additional intermediate intensity levels and has separate buttons to increase and decrease power.

Compare Bullet & Mini Vibrators

You can filter this table by products’ performance and price using our comparison table tool here.

Because the We-Vibe Tango is discontinued, We-Vibe’s remaining inventory is steeply discounted until they sell out. At its discounted price, it’s the best rumbly bullet vibrator available. It’s as rumbly as the updated We-Vibe Tango X, and more rumbly than any other budget-friendly bullets.

It’s one-button control system is less convenient than the updated model. And other bullets like the Blush Limited Addiction, the Lovense Ambi, or FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet are better if you care more about intensity than rumbliness.

Vibrations: Power And Range

Max Power Rating

7.9

What is it:

How strong the highest power level feels compared to other bullet and mini vibrators.

When does it matter:

If you need intense vibrations to orgasm or you just enjoy powerful vibrations.

Show All Scores (Click to See):

Power Range Rating:

8.0

What is it:

How wide the range is between the highest and lowest power levels, and whether it has enough power levels that steps between settings are comfortable.

When does it matter:

A broad power range with many intensity levels is always more versatile. You can warm up with softer levels when your body isn’t ready for intense vibrations. But when you want more strength, you can turn it up high. A broad power range is also more likely to include settings at your ideal strength.

Power vs Frequency Graph:

What is it:

A graph of each bullet and mini vibrator’s power vs frequency across all of its power levels.

When does it matter:

If you want a detailed look at the vibrator’s full power and frequency characteristics. This tells you how strong and how rumbly each setting feels. You can also compare two vibrators on the same graph using our graph comparison tool here.

How Strong Is Each Power? (Click to Expand Definitions)

  • Power < 2.7: Too weak for me to orgasm, but great while warming up.
  • Power between 2.7 and 6.0: Strong enough for me to orgasm, but takes some effort. Good while warming up.
  • Power between 6.0 and 9.0: I orgasm effortlessly and reliably. These are the settings I typically finish with.
  • Power ≥ 9.0: Extreme power. Way more than I need to orgasm – I rarely use these.

The We-Vibe Tango has an excellent power range. It’s a great option for someone wanting soft, moderate, and intense power levels in one bullet.

The We-Vibe Tango begins with 2.5 out of 10 vibration strength, which provides an excellent warm-up. Low levels like this are useful in the beginning to prevent overstimulation. And some people prefer mild vibrations the entire time. The two middle levels are moderately powerful, with reasonably gradual steps between intensities.

Then, the top strength reaches 7.75 out of 10 vibration strength. This is plenty of power for me to orgasm with, though I typically use the top strength and am glad it’s not any less powerful. The highest setting is not so intense that it feels overwhelming to me.

We-Vibe Tango with Stronger Blush Limited Addiction and FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet
The We-Vibe Tango with stronger alternatives, the Blush Limited Addiction (middle) and FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet (right)

If you enjoy extreme power, there are some stronger bullet vibrators like the Blush Limited Addiction or FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet. Each has a top power level that is too intense for me personally, but they lack gentle settings.

The We-Vibe Tango’s 4 power settings provide a great variety to ensure you find a comfortable and stimulating level. It will satisfy all except those who need extreme power.

Vibrations: Frequency (Rumbliness)

Rumbliness Rating:

8.9

What is it:

How “rumbly” (low frequency) or “buzzy” (high frequency) the vibrator feels. And whether it delivers strong vibrations while remaining reasonably rumbly. Higher scores indicate a “more rumbly” (lower-frequency) bullet or mini vibrator, since the majority of people prefer rumbliness. But ultimately vibration frequency is a personal preference.

When does it matter:

If you prefer vibrations in a specific area along the rumbly-to-buzzy spectrum. Rumbly vibrations spread out more and you feel them deeper. Whereas you feel buzzy vibrations nearer to the surface and more concentrated around the point of contact. Both can feel good, and which you enjoy more is a personal preference.

What is it:

What part of the frequency spectrum the vibrator’s power levels are centered around. It’s the vibration frequency of the middle power level (the average of the two middle levels if there is an even number of settings).

When does it matter:

If you prefer vibrations in a particular part of the rumbly-to-buzzy spectrum. This provides a quick way to see whether one vibrator’s settings are generally more rumbly or buzzy than another vibrator’s. Since most people prefer rumbly toys, we give higher scores to lower-frequency (more rumbly) vibrators. But ultimately, it’s a personal preference.

Rumbliness & Power Balance:

8.4

What is it:

A measure that rewards bullet and mini vibrators that remain rumbly (low-frequency) while packing good vibration strength. In other words, a bullet vibrator that is strong, but buzzy will perform poorly in this metric. Likewise, a bullet vibrator that is rumbly, but weak will also perform poorly. Only bullet and mini vibrators with strong, rumbly vibrations will have a high rating here. Calculated using the average normalized power / normalized frequency of the vibrator’s settings, with a derating factor applied to buzzy settings.

When does it matter:

If you want a bullet or mini vibrator with a good balance of power and rumbliness.

Show All Scores (Click to See):

We rate rumbly vibrations higher than buzzy ones because most people prefer deep, low-frequency vibrations.

The We-Vibe Tango is incredibly rumbly. Of all the bullet vibrators I’ve tested, only the upgraded We-Vibe Tango X is more rumbly. The Tango’s first 3 power levels are extremely rumbly. Its rumbliness is especially impressive considering its strength – vibrators always become buzzier as you increase power. But even the Tango’s highest strength remains moderately rumbly.

We Vibe Tango and We-Vibe Tango X
The newer version, the We-Vibe Tango X (right) is more rumbly than the original Tango (right)

Powerful, deep vibrations typically come with a high price tag. But since the Tango is no longer in production and is being sold at a discount, it’s currently the most affordable rumbly bullet.

Stimulation Precision

Stimulation Precision

What is it:

How focused or broad the stimulation feels compared to other mini and bullet vibrators.

When does it matter:

If you prefer stimulation focused in a small, precise area or enjoy it spread out over more of your vulva. It’s a personal preference.

We-Vibe Tango Typical Tip Width Photo

Precision:

Precise

Head or Tip Width:

0.67 inches

What is it:

The width of the vibrator’s head or tip measured at the part of the vibrator in contact with my body during normal use. For most bullet vibrators, it’s the width of the toy right before it begins to taper. For uniquely-shaped mini vibrators it’s a subjective location I determine based on my experience using the vibrator.

When does it matter:

If you enjoy broader stimulation you’ll will want a greater tip width. If you prefer precise stimulation, you’ll want a narrower tip width.

Tip Shape:

Lipstick

What is it:

The shape of the bullet or mini vibrator’s tip.

When it matters:

The tip’s shape affects how broad or precise the stimulation feels. And it affects how much you can vary the stimulation. Lipstick-shaped and tapered vibrators provide very focused stimulation when using the tip or moderate precision when using the side of the toy. Rounded heads stay in that moderate range of precision. And others can be broader.

The We-Vibe Tango is best for those who prefer precise stimulation because of its thin (0.67 inches) lipstick-shaped tip. This design covers a small area, so it’s great at hitting a specific spot without affecting other areas where you don’t want vibrations much.

You can achieve a bit broader coverage by pressing the Tango’s side to your body to spread the vibrations out more. But it’s easiest to use for focused stimulation.

The We-Vibe Tango is comfortable and easy to use. The thin, firm core makes it easy to maneuver and leverage to hit your desired spot.

The vibrations don’t travel much into my hand while I’m using it, so it’s very comfortable to grip.

We-Vibe Tango Control Button
The one-button control system of the We-Vibe Tango

You control the Tango with a single button on the toy’s base. You’ll cycle through the 4 power settings and 4 patterns. I prefer the multi-button system of the updated We-Vibe Tango X, which lets you increase or decrease power instead of cycling through levels. But if you don’t want to spend the extra money to upgrade, the Tango’s cycle setup just takes some getting used to.

We-Vibe Tango X Multiple Control Buttons
The newer We-Vibe Tango X has a multi-button control system instead of the one-button cycling control system of the original Tango

At most, you’re 8 clicks away from your desired setting since there are only a few intensity levels and patterns. And the button placement is ideal –  I don’t have to adjust my natural grip on the bullet to press the button.

The We-Vibe Tango is great during sex. The rumbly vibrations travel deeper into your body and affect a wider area, which is helpful so that you don’t have to pay much attention to precisely positioning the bullet. I find these rumbly vibrations enhance sex without feeling overstimulating.

The thin design allows the Tango to slip into tight spaces easily and helps me keep good contact with my body. The original Tango is a half-inch shorter than the We-Vibe Tango X. The shorter length makes it a bit more challenging to grip during sex than the newer model. You have to pinch the end to hold it, but it’s still pretty easy.

The We-Vibe Tango has passable noise levels, but there are quieter bullet vibrators.

When the Tango is not pressed against your body, it can sometimes make a rattling sound. On the two highest levels, if I don’t keep the bullet pressed to my skin, my partner can hear the rattle from the other side of the bedroom door.

Turning on a box fan or playing music masks this noise entirely. So, if you live with others, you’ll want to keep the bullet in contact with your body or add background noise to cover the sound.

The We-Vibe Tango has a simple but great build quality. I love how the weight falls towards the tip, and it’s a comfortable amount of weight that gives it a sturdy and luxurious feel. The ABS Plastic construction does not feel too lightweight or cheap. I can apply solid pressure without feeling like I’ll damage the Tango.

It’s less luxurious than the new We-Vibe Tango X, which has a more comfortable silicone handle.

Cleaning

Cleaning Rating

10.0

What is it:

How easy the bullet or mini vibrator is to clean. Vibrators with an IPX6 (water-resistant) or IPX7 (waterproof) rating are super easy to clean under a running sink. For vibrators without a waterproof rating, I subjectively rate how difficult it is to clean.

Waterproof Rating:

IPX7

What is it:

The bullet or mini vibrator’s waterproof rating – IPX7, IPX6, or No Rating

When does it matter:

When you plan to use your vibrator in the shower, bath, or want simpler cleaning.

  • IPX7 (Submersible): Vibrators with this rating are “waterproof.” You can submerge them in water up to a meter deep for up to 30 minutes. So you can use them in the bath and cleaning is easy.
  • IPX6 (Water Resistant): Vibrators with this rating can resist high-pressure, heavy sprays of water, but should not be fully submerged. This means you can use them in the shower (but not submerged in a bath). You can also clean them under a sink faucet without worry.
  • No Rating: These vibrators do not have a waterproof rating. You should not use them in the shower, and you must be careful to keep water away from electronic components when cleaning them.

The We-Vibe Tango is completely waterproof, making it easy to clean. You can submerge the Tango in soapy water and scrub away without worry of water damage.

General Design and Specs

Size and Weight

We-Vibe Tango Vibrator Length Measurement with Calipers Photo

Length:

3.5 inches

What is it:

How long the bullet or mini vibrator is, measured from the base to the tip.

When does it matter:

In general, longer mini and bullet vibrators are easier to hold, maneuver, and leverage. These types of vibrators are smaller than most, so some additional length can provide a more comfortable grip.

We-Vibe Tango Typical Tip Width Photo

Head or Tip Width:

0.67 inches

What is it:

The width of the vibrator’s head or tip measured at the part of the vibrator in contact with my body during normal use. For most bullet vibrators, it’s the width of the toy right before it begins to taper. For uniquely-shaped mini vibrators it’s a subjective location I determine based on my experience using the vibrator.

When does it matter:

If you enjoy broader stimulation you’ll will want a greater tip width. If you prefer precise stimulation, you’ll want a narrower tip width.

We-Vibe Tango Weight Measured on a Scale Photo

Weight:

1.4 ounces

What is it:

How heavy the bullet vibrator or mini vibrator is, measured with a digital scale.

When does it matter:

The weight of a bullet or mini vibrator is not that important, because they’re all relatively light (around 0.6 to 5.0 ounces). They’re not heavy like wand vibrators which can weigh up to 25 ounces and can be difficult to maneuver. A slightly heavier bullet or mini vibrator can feel sturdier, more durable, and higher quality.

Design Features

We-Vibe Tango Vibrator Shape Photo

Vibrator Shape:

Straight

What is it:

The general shape of the mini or bullet vibrator.

When it matters:

Most bullet vibrators have a basic, straight design. Angled bullet vibrators can be easier to leverage and apply pressure. An angled shape can also help a bullet vibrator fit more easily between bodies during sex. We use the word “palm” to refer to mini vibrators designed to fit in the palm of your hand. Palm vibrators generally provide broader stimulation than bullet vibrators.

We-Vibe Tango Tip Shape Photo

Head or Tip Shape:

Lipstick

Head or Tip Firmness

Firm

What is it:

Whether the vibrator’s tip is firm or plush.

We-Vibe Tango Rigidity and Flexibility Photo

Flexibility:

Rigid

What is it:

How flexible or rigid the mini or bullet vibrator is.

When does it matter:

It’s generally a personal preference. A slightly flexible vibrator can be more comfortable to use, especially if the vibrator is very firm. However, too much flexibility makes it harder to apply substantial pressure since the vibrator’s tip can flex away.

Materials:

ABS Plastic

What is it:

The material of the mini or bullet vibrator’s body and handle.

When it matters:

Only non-porous materials (including ABS plastic, silicone, some metals, and some other materials) are body-safe since they can be fully sanitized. Every bullet and mini vibrator we review is made using body-safe materials. The choice between different safe materials is a personal preference. Some people enjoy how smooth ABS Plastic feels. Others find silicone feels higher-quality to them. Or the additional weight and shine of a metal vibrator can make it feel luxurious.

The original We-Vibe Tango is the best budget-friendly bullet for those who want extremely rumbly vibrations. Since it’s discontinued, the remaining stock is being sold at an affordable price.

We-Vibe Tango and Box
The We-Vibe Tango and box

The Tango is exceptionally rumbly – the newer We-Vibe Tango X is the only bullet I’ve tested that’s more rumbly than the original Tango. And the Tango provides a great power range with gentle, moderate, and strong settings.

We Vibe Tango and We-Vibe Tango X
The We-Vibe Tango X (right) is the only bullet that’s rumblier than the original We-Vibe Tango (left)

The only people I don’t recommend the We-Vibe Tango to are those who prefer buzzy vibrations, want extreme power, or have the budget for the improved Tango X. If that’s you, consider some alternatives below. The Tango is great if you’re on a budget and want rumbly vibes.

Compare Alternatives

We-Vibe Tango X

The We-Vibe Tango X is an improved version of the original Tango. The Tango and Tango X begin and end at the same strength, but the newer version has 8 intensity levels instead of the original’s 4. This means steps between levels are more comfortable and gradual. The We-Vibe Tango X is also even more rumbly than the original Tango.

We Vibe Tango and We-Vibe Tango X

The Tango X’s silicone grip and control system are the biggest improvements on the original.

The Tango X has 3 separate buttons to increase power, decrease power, and change vibration patterns. So you can reach your preferred setting more easily than cycling through options with a single button, as you must do with the original Tango.

The Tango X’s silicone handle is also more comfortable and easier to grip than the original Tango’s fully plastic construction. The Tango X is about $25 more expensive than the original Tango.

Pillow Talk Racy

The Pillow Talk Racy is a budget-friendly, rumbly bullet vibrator that’s quieter than the We-Vibe Tango. Since the Racy is still in active production, it’s also more widely available than the original Tango.

We-Vibe Tango and Pillow Talk Racy

Although it’s not quite as low-frequency as the Tango, the Racy is rumbly enough for most people. And many will enjoy that its top intensity levels feel neutral. The Tango and Racy have a similar power range, each having gentle warmup levels and maxing out at 7.75 out of 10 vibration strength.

The We-Vibe Tango can sometimes be heard from the other side of a closed door, but the Pillow Talk Racy is quiet on every power level.

The Racy is also unique because it can be used for internal G-spot stimulation as well as clitoral vibrations. So it’s a multi-purpose toy if you want to try something new.

Blush Limited Addiction

The Blush Limited Addiction is for those who want the extreme upper power levels that the We-Vibe Tango is missing. This bullet reaches a top vibration strength of 10 out of 10 compared to the We-Vibe Tango’s 7.75 out of 10!

We-Vibe Tango and Blush Limited Addiction

The Blush Limited Addiction does not offer gentle warmup levels like the Tango. It begins with 5 out of 10 vibration strength compared to the Tango’s lowest power of 2.5. It’s also much buzzier than the Tango. No bullet I’ve tried with extremely intense upper levels is rumbly. You’ll have to decide whether you prioritize rumbliness or immense strength more.

The Blush Limited Addiction is cheaper than the Tango, so it’s an excellent budget buy if you’re willing to give up the rumbliness and lower starting powers.
