Our Verdict

The VeDO Bam is a decent bullet vibrator, and I enjoy it. But some cheaper options perform better overall.

The VeDO Bam is one of the most powerful bullet vibrators I’ve tested, but it has no gentle or mid-intensity settings. And many people will need those warmup levels that it’s missing. The Blush Limited Addiction provides a broader power range and performs better overall than the VeDO Bam – at a lower price.

Besides its lack of gentler settings, the VeDO Bam performs reasonably well. It’s easy to leverage and maneuver, the medium-width tapered tip allows you to vary the surface area in contact for more precise or broader stimulation, and its silicone is smooth and comfy. But it doesn’t exceed the performance of the cheaper Blush bullet. So in this price range, I recommend it instead to most people.

Check Prices:

Pros

  • Strong vibrations
  • Comfortable grip and easy to maneuver
  • Long battery life for its high power
  • Inaudible behind a closed door, even with its strength
  • Budget-friendly

Cons

  • No low or medium power levels
  • No rumbly vibrations
  • Other bullets perform similarly at even lower price points

Table of Contents

VeDO Bam with other bullet and mini vibrators in background

The VeDO Bam is an affordable bullet vibrator. It’s made by the same brand as my favorite budget egg vibrator and panty vibrator (the VeDO Kiwi and VeDO Niki). The VeDO Bam is wider than most bullets to house a stronger motor. It has 3 intensity levels and 7 vibration patterns. It’s made of body-safe silicone and is waterproof.

Compare Bullet & Mini Vibrators

You can filter this table by products’ performance and price using our comparison table tool here.

The VeDO Bam is a decent bullet vibrator, but other cheap bullets are better. The Blush Limited Addiction has a broader power range, more convenient controls, and better performance overall at a cheaper price. Or if you value rumbly vibrations, the Pillow Talk Racy is only slightly more expensive.

Vibrations: Power And Range

Max Power Rating

9.8

What is it:

How strong the highest power level feels compared to other bullet and mini vibrators.

When does it matter:

If you need intense vibrations to orgasm or you just enjoy powerful vibrations.

Scoring Factors:

Power Range Rating:

3.3

What is it:

How wide the range is between the highest and lowest power levels, and whether it has enough power levels that steps between settings are comfortable.

When does it matter:

A broad power range with many intensity levels is always more versatile. You can warm up with softer levels when your body isn’t ready for intense vibrations. But when you want more strength, you can turn it up high. A broad power range is also more likely to include settings at your ideal strength.

Power vs Frequency Graph:

What is it:

A graph of each bullet and mini vibrator’s power vs frequency across all of its power levels.

When does it matter:

If you want a detailed look at the vibrator’s full power and frequency characteristics. This tells you how strong and how rumbly each setting feels. You can also compare two vibrators on the same graph using our graph comparison tool here.

How Strong Is Each Power? (Click to Expand Definitions)

  • Power < 2.7: Too weak for me to orgasm, but great while warming up.
  • Power between 2.7 and 6.0: Strong enough for me to orgasm, but takes some effort. Good while warming up.
  • Power between 6.0 and 9.0: I orgasm effortlessly and reliably. These are the settings I typically finish with.
  • Power ≥ 9.0: Extreme power. Way more than I need to orgasm – I rarely use these.

The VeDO Bam is a powerful bullet with no low or medium power levels. If you prefer intensity, it’s enjoyable! But its lowest of 3 settings is a 7.9 out of 10 for strength, so it can be jarring if you don’t start by warming up with a gentler bullet first.

VeDO Bam with Blush Limited Addiction and Pillow Talk Flirty
The VeDO Bam (left) and alternatives with gentler starting powers, the Blush Limited Addiction (middle) and Pillow Talk Flirty (right)

It reaches a 9.5 out of 10 on high, one of the most powerful I’ve tested. However, the Bam’s power and range underperform compared to cheaper options. The Blush Limited Addiction begins softer (5 out of 10) than the VeDO Bam and finishes stronger (10 out of 10) at a cheaper price. On the other hand, if you prefer milder stimulation, try the Pillow Talk Flirty instead – a bullet with its power range focused around gentler settings.

Vibrations: Frequency (Rumbliness)

Rumbliness Rating:

6.0

What is it:

How “rumbly” (low frequency) or “buzzy” (high frequency) the vibrator feels. And whether it delivers strong vibrations while remaining reasonably rumbly. Higher scores indicate a “more rumbly” (lower-frequency) bullet or mini vibrator, since the majority of people prefer rumbliness. But ultimately vibration frequency is a personal preference.

When does it matter:

If you prefer vibrations in a specific area along the rumbly-to-buzzy spectrum. Rumbly vibrations spread out more and you feel them deeper. Whereas you feel buzzy vibrations nearer to the surface and more concentrated around the point of contact. Both can feel good, and which you enjoy more is a personal preference.

Frequency on Low Power:

Median Frequency:

(Neutral)

What is it:

What part of the frequency spectrum the vibrator’s power levels are centered around. It’s the vibration frequency of the middle power level (the average of the two middle levels if there is an even number of settings).

When does it matter:

If you prefer vibrations in a particular part of the rumbly-to-buzzy spectrum. This provides a quick way to see whether one vibrator’s settings are generally more rumbly or buzzy than another vibrator’s. Since most people prefer rumbly toys, we give higher scores to lower-frequency (more rumbly) vibrators. But ultimately, it’s a personal preference.

Frequency on High Power:

102 Hz

(Moderately Buzzy)

Rumbliness & Power Balance:

6.0

What is it:

A measure that rewards bullet and mini vibrators that remain rumbly (low-frequency) while packing good vibration strength. In other words, a bullet vibrator that is strong, but buzzy will perform poorly in this metric. Likewise, a bullet vibrator that is rumbly, but weak will also perform poorly. Only bullet and mini vibrators with strong, rumbly vibrations will have a high rating here. Calculated using the average normalized power / normalized frequency of the vibrator’s settings, with a derating factor applied to buzzy settings.

When does it matter:

If you want a bullet or mini vibrator with a good balance of power and rumbliness.

Show All Scores (Click to See):

We rate rumbly vibrations higher than buzzy ones because it’s what most people want. But this is a personal preference, so if you enjoy buzzy vibes, pay more attention to the frequency chart than the rating.

The VeDO Bam’s vibrations have a neutral feeling on its lowest two settings, and its highest setting is moderately buzzy. I personally enjoy the first two powers because I like neutral vibrations in a bullet. They provide a bit of zing while still traveling reasonably deep. But it would be nice if the VeDO Bam also had some rumbly low levels like the Blush Limited Addiction has.

VeDO Bam and Pillow Talk Racy
The VeDO Bam (left) with a rumblier alternative, the Pillow Talk Racy (right)

You’ll need to increase your budget if you care a lot about having deep, rumbly vibrations. Most bullet vibrators in the VeDO Bam’s price range have decent, but not excellent, rumbliness. The Pillow Talk Racy is a bit more expensive, and two-thirds of its power range is rumbly.

Stimulation Precision

Stimulation Precision

What is it:

How focused or broad the stimulation feels compared to other mini and bullet vibrators.

When does it matter:

If you prefer stimulation focused in a small, precise area or enjoy it spread out over more of your vulva. It’s a personal preference.

VeDO Bam Typical Tip Width Photo

Precision:

Medium

Head or Tip Width:

0.91 inches

What is it:

The width of the vibrator’s head or tip measured at the part of the vibrator in contact with my body during normal use. For most bullet vibrators, it’s the width of the toy right before it begins to taper. For uniquely-shaped mini vibrators it’s a subjective location I determine based on my experience using the vibrator.

When does it matter:

If you enjoy broader stimulation you’ll will want a greater tip width. If you prefer precise stimulation, you’ll want a narrower tip width.

Tip Shape:

Tapered

What is it:

The shape of the bullet or mini vibrator’s tip.

When it matters:

The tip’s shape affects how broad or precise the stimulation feels. And it affects how much you can vary the stimulation. Lipstick-shaped and tapered vibrators provide very focused stimulation when using the tip or moderate precision when using the side of the toy. Rounded heads stay in that moderate range of precision. And others can be broader.

You can get a mix of focused and broad stimulation from the VeDO Bam. It’s wider than many bullet vibrators, so you can get somewhat broad stimulation and pressure using the side of the bullet. But the tip has a slight taper, so you can use the end for more precise stimulation. As a result, it’s pretty versatile.

Show All Scores (Click to See):

The VeDO Bam is a comfortable and easy-to-use bullet vibrator. It’s a great length for leveraging, and since the structure is very rigid, you can get excellent pressure.

The VeDO Bam transfers some slight vibrations into your hand. But it will only bother people especially sensitive to this.

VeDO Bam Control Button
The VeDO Bam’s one-button control system

The button to control the vibration intensity and patterns is on the bottom. You have to adjust your grip slightly during use to press the button. You must also cycle through all powers and patterns to get to the one you want. It starts on the highest strength and cycles down to lower powers as you keep pressing. And since there are 3 power levels and 7 vibration patterns, there’s a lot to tap through.

Blush Limited Addiction Control Buttons
Other toys like the Blush Limited Addiction have multiple buttons, allowing you to tap back and forth on power instead of cycling through

I prefer bullets that let me power up or back down to find my ideal setting. That way, if I miss the one I want, I don’t have to cycle back through everything again. The Blush Limited Addiction is a budget-friendly option with a multi-button system.

Scoring Factors:

Show All Scores (Click to See):

The VeDO Bam is a great size and shape for getting into tight spaces and leveraging easily during sex.

The vibrations travel into the handle a little bit, which does not bother me much during solo use but can be distracting during sex for some. It’s all about how I hold the bullet, and I find it less distracting in the spooning position than in missionary.

VeDO Bam with Comfier Blush Limited Addiction and Pillow Talk Flirty and Pillow Talk Racy
The VeDO Bam with some alternatives that don’t vibrate as much in the hand – the Blush Limited Addiction (left), Pillow Talk Flirty (middle) and Pillow Talk Racy (right)

I don’t notice handle vibrations as much with the Blush Limited Addiction, Pillow Talk Flirty, or Pillow Talk Racy. The Racy even has a convenient inward curve, useful for leveraging the bullet without bumping against your partner. And since they’re about the same price and are better overall, I’d recommend one of these instead of the VeDO Bam if you want something great during sex.

What is it:

The VeDO Bam has a good build quality. It has a nice weight that makes it feel solid and well-made. You charge the bullet by screwing off a plastic cap, which makes it feel a little cheaper. But the silicone is smooth and comfortable. It’s not quite as luxurious as some models, but it looks good, and I’ve had no issues with it.

Cleaning

Cleaning Rating

10.0

What is it:

How easy the bullet or mini vibrator is to clean. Vibrators with an IPX6 (water-resistant) or IPX7 (waterproof) rating are super easy to clean under a running sink. For vibrators without a waterproof rating, I subjectively rate how difficult it is to clean.

VeDO Bam Waterproof Rating Demonstration

Waterproof Rating:

IPX7

What is it:

The bullet or mini vibrator’s waterproof rating – IPX7, IPX6, or No Rating

When does it matter:

When you plan to use your vibrator in the shower, bath, or want simpler cleaning.

  • IPX7 (Submersible): Vibrators with this rating are “waterproof.” You can submerge them in water up to a meter deep for up to 30 minutes. So you can use them in the bath and cleaning is easy.
  • IPX6 (Water Resistant): Vibrators with this rating can resist high-pressure, heavy sprays of water, but should not be fully submerged. This means you can use them in the shower (but not submerged in a bath). You can also clean them under a sink faucet without worry.
  • No Rating: These vibrators do not have a waterproof rating. You should not use them in the shower, and you must be careful to keep water away from electronic components when cleaning them.

The VeDO Bam is completely waterproof, so it’s very easy to clean. It has an IPX7 rating which means you can safely submerge it up to a meter deep for up to half an hour. So simply clean it with soap and water.

General Design and Specs

Size and Weight

VeDO Bam Vibrator Length Measurement with Calipers Photo

Length:

3.7 inches

What is it:

How long the bullet or mini vibrator is, measured from the base to the tip.

When does it matter:

In general, longer mini and bullet vibrators are easier to hold, maneuver, and leverage. These types of vibrators are smaller than most, so some additional length can provide a more comfortable grip.

VeDO Bam Typical Tip Width Photo

Head or Tip Width:

0.91 inches

What is it:

The width of the vibrator’s head or tip measured at the part of the vibrator in contact with my body during normal use. For most bullet vibrators, it’s the width of the toy right before it begins to taper. For uniquely-shaped mini vibrators it’s a subjective location I determine based on my experience using the vibrator.

When does it matter:

If you enjoy broader stimulation you’ll will want a greater tip width. If you prefer precise stimulation, you’ll want a narrower tip width.

VeDO Bam Weight Measured on a Scale Photo

Weight:

2.0 ounces

What is it:

How heavy the bullet vibrator or mini vibrator is, measured with a digital scale.

When does it matter:

The weight of a bullet or mini vibrator is not that important, because they’re all relatively light (around 0.6 to 5.0 ounces). They’re not heavy like wand vibrators which can weigh up to 25 ounces and can be difficult to maneuver. A slightly heavier bullet or mini vibrator can feel sturdier, more durable, and higher quality.

Design Features

VeDO Bam Vibrator Shape Photo

Vibrator Shape:

Straight

What is it:

The general shape of the mini or bullet vibrator.

When it matters:

Most bullet vibrators have a basic, straight design. Angled bullet vibrators can be easier to leverage and apply pressure. An angled shape can also help a bullet vibrator fit more easily between bodies during sex. We use the word “palm” to refer to mini vibrators designed to fit in the palm of your hand. Palm vibrators generally provide broader stimulation than bullet vibrators.

VeDO Bam Tip Shape Photo

Head or Tip Shape:

Tapered

Head or Tip Firmness

Firm

What is it:

Whether the vibrator’s tip is firm or plush.

VeDO Bam Rigidity and Flexibility Photo

Flexibility:

Rigid

What is it:

How flexible or rigid the mini or bullet vibrator is.

When does it matter:

It’s generally a personal preference. A slightly flexible vibrator can be more comfortable to use, especially if the vibrator is very firm. However, too much flexibility makes it harder to apply substantial pressure since the vibrator’s tip can flex away.

Materials:

Silicone

What is it:

The material of the mini or bullet vibrator’s body and handle.

When it matters:

Only non-porous materials (including ABS plastic, silicone, some metals, and some other materials) are body-safe since they can be fully sanitized. Every bullet and mini vibrator we review is made using body-safe materials. The choice between different safe materials is a personal preference. Some people enjoy how smooth ABS Plastic feels. Others find silicone feels higher-quality to them. Or the additional weight and shine of a metal vibrator can make it feel luxurious.

I always test VeDO’s toys because I often find them exceptional for the price. The VeDO Kiwi egg vibrator and VeDO Niki panty vibrator are some of my favorite budget finds.

VeDO Bam with VeDO Kiwi and VeDO Niki
The VeDO Bam with two of my other VeDO toys – the VeDO Kiwi (middle) and VeDO Niki (right)

Like their other toys, the VeDO Bam is a reasonably priced bullet vibrator. For this price, it has impressive strength and a long battery life. It’s also very comfortable to use and leverage.

However, all its power levels are in the high to extreme range, lacking any softer warmup settings. And the one-button control system can be annoying since there are so many vibration patterns to cycle through. While it’s a decent and enjoyable vibrator (especially for people who like strong power), there are cheaper bullets that perform similarly to or better than the VeDO Bam.

Compare Alternatives

Blush Limited Addiction

The Blush Limited Addiction is cheaper than the VeDO Bam and has a better power range. While it doesn’t get truly gentle, it has some lower levels than the VeDO Bam starting at 5 out of 10 vibration strength. And it maxes out at a 10 out of 10 on high! So you have a wider range to play with and a couple of softer settings that the VeDO Bam is missing.

VeDO Bam and Blush Limited Addiction

The Blush Limited Addiction also has separate buttons to increase and decrease power, so you don’t need to cycle through settings as you do with the VeDO Bam. At a cheaper price and with generally better performance, it’s a better option for most people than the VeDO Bam.

Like the Blush Limited Addiction, the BMS Swan Maximum has a wider power range than the VeDO Bam.

VeDO Bam with BMS Swan Maximum Bullet

The Swan starts extremely gently with a 2.5 strength, and reaches an 11 out of 10 on high. It’s about the same price and provides mostly buzzy vibrations like the Bam. I prefer the Blush Limited Addiction because it’s more comfortable to hold than the Swan Maximum, but if you need the even gentler starting levels that the Swan provides, it’s a better choice.

We-Vibe Tango

VeDO Bam and We-Vibe Tango

The original We-Vibe Tango is the most rumbly bullet vibrator near the VeDO Bam’s price point. Every setting, including its strongest level, is deep and rumbly. It maxes out at 7.75 out of 10 vibration strength compared to the VeDO Bam’s 9.5. While not as intense on high as the VeDO Bam, it will be plenty for most people. And it begins at 2.5 out of 10 strength, providing a much better warmup than the VeDO Bam. The We-Vibe Tango is no longer in active production (it’s been replaced by the We-Vibe Tango X which is more expensive). But you can still find it for now, and its discounted price makes it a worthwhile consideration.

Pillow Talk Racy

VeDO Bam and Pillow Talk Racy

The Pillow Talk Racy is an excellent option if you prefer rumblier vibrations. This is not as strong as the Bam, but it’s the most affordable option with primarily rumbly vibes. If you can’t find the Tango anymore since it’s no longer in production, this is the next best option for deeper-feeling vibes with solid strength. Not to mention, it’s my favorite G-spot bullet vibrator, so it’s multi-purpose.

BMS Essential Bullet

VeDO Bam and BMS Essential Bullet

The BMS Essential Bullet is decent if you are on an extremely tight budget and want a wide power range. I don’t like this bullet as much as my other budget recommendations because it’s so tiny and difficult to leverage. But it’s the only option under $30 that hits low, medium, and high power levels, which is great if you want a wide power range.
