Our Verdict

The Pillow Talk Racy is an affordable bullet vibrator that’s excellent for clitoral and G-spot stimulation – it’s one of my favorites! It has great rumbliness and a broad power range with soft, moderate, and intense settings. So you can warm up with gentle vibrations but finish strong.

It has a longer handle than most bullet vibrators, making it especially easy to grip, maneuver, and leverage. Besides providing excellent G-spot stimulation, the angled head makes the Racy easier to use than other bullets for clit stimulation (especially during sex). It helps it fit comfortably between our bodies and makes applying pressure easy.

The battery life is shorter than other bullets, so charging between each use is important. But it’s extremely quiet, making it a great choice if you live with others.

The only people who won’t appreciate the Pillow Talk Racy are those who prefer extreme power levels or buzzy vibrations. But for most people, this will be an enjoyable, extremely versatile bullet. Its versatility and affordable price also make it an excellent first vibrator since you can explore different types of stimulation and learn your preferences without overspending.

Pillow Talk Racy with other bullet and mini vibrators in background

The Pillow Talk Racy is a mid-budget bullet vibrator in the Pillow Talk lineup – a product line known for their cute aesthetic, affordability, and typically rumbly motors. It’s a step up from their low-budget bullet, the Pillow Talk Flirty. But it’s more compact and affordable than their full-sized G-spot vibrator, the Pillow Talk Sassy.

Unlike most bullet vibrators, the Pillow Talk Racy has an angled head designed to give either G-spot or clitoral stimulation. It uses incremental speed control – press and hold the button to gradually increase power to your desired level. The Pillow Talk Racy is made of body-safe silicone with metallic-colored plastic accents and a crystal power button. It has a comfortable, flexible core and is splashproof, so you can run it under the faucet while cleaning. It uses a USB charging cable.

Compare Bullet & Mini Vibrators

You can filter this table by products’ performance and price using our comparison table tool here.

The Pillow Talk Racy is one of the best mid-budget bullet vibrators. It’s more rumbly, quieter, more comfortable, and better during sex than other bullets in its price range. The Pillow Talk Racy has an excellent power range, but those who want even more extreme power can consider the FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet, the Blush Limited Addiction, or BMS Swan Maximum Bullet – but these are buzzier than the Racy.

The Pillow Talk Racy is also longer than other G-spot bullet vibrators like the Je Joue G-spot Bullet, which makes the Racy much easier to use for internal stimulation.

Vibrations: Power And Range

Max Power Rating

7.9

What is it:

How strong the highest power level feels compared to other bullet and mini vibrators.

When does it matter:

If you need intense vibrations to orgasm or you just enjoy powerful vibrations.

Power Range Rating:

8.2

What is it:

How wide the range is between the highest and lowest power levels, and whether it has enough power levels that steps between settings are comfortable.

When does it matter:

A broad power range with many intensity levels is always more versatile. You can warm up with softer levels when your body isn’t ready for intense vibrations. But when you want more strength, you can turn it up high. A broad power range is also more likely to include settings at your ideal strength.

Power vs Frequency Graph:

What is it:

A graph of each bullet and mini vibrator’s power vs frequency across all of its power levels.

When does it matter:

If you want a detailed look at the vibrator’s full power and frequency characteristics. This tells you how strong and how rumbly each setting feels. You can also compare two vibrators on the same graph using our graph comparison tool here.

How Strong Is Each Power? (Click to Expand Definitions)

  • Power < 2.7: Too weak for me to orgasm, but great while warming up.
  • Power between 2.7 and 6.0: Strong enough for me to orgasm, but takes some effort. Good while warming up.
  • Power between 6.0 and 9.0: I orgasm effortlessly and reliably. These are the settings I typically finish with.
  • Power ≥ 9.0: Extreme power. Way more than I need to orgasm – I rarely use these.

The Pillow Talk Racy has a powerful top setting and covers an impressive range from low to high. It’s great for everyone but those who need extreme power.

The starting power is a 2 out of 10 vibration strength. So it begins soft enough for people who need a warmup and those overstimulated by intensity. And its top level reaches 7.75 out of 10, a strength I consider intense. Although there are a few bullets with more extreme upper settings like the Blush Limited Addiction and BMS Swan Maximum, I orgasm effortlessly and reliably with the Pillow Talk Racy.

Blush Limited Addicion with Swan Maximum Bullet and Pillow Talk Racy
The Pillow Talk Racy (right) and alternatives with more extreme top power levels – the Blush Limited Addiction (left) and BMS Swan Maximum (middle)

With the Pillow Talk Racy’s incremental speed control, it covers its power range completely. You’ll hold the button to gradually increase power in tiny increments and release it when you’ve reached your desired strength.

Pillow Talk Racy Control Button
The press-and-hold button allows for incremental power adjustments – it provides better control than one-button, tap to cycle through options

As a result, steps between power levels are very comfortable – not jarring. And you have a ton of intensity levels available in each part of the power range (gentle, moderate, and strong). Many other bullet vibrators may cover a wide power range but do so with only a few distinct intensity levels.

Vibrations: Frequency (Rumbliness)

Rumbliness Rating:

7.7

What is it:

How “rumbly” (low frequency) or “buzzy” (high frequency) the vibrator feels. And whether it delivers strong vibrations while remaining reasonably rumbly. Higher scores indicate a “more rumbly” (lower-frequency) bullet or mini vibrator, since the majority of people prefer rumbliness. But ultimately vibration frequency is a personal preference.

When does it matter:

If you prefer vibrations in a specific area along the rumbly-to-buzzy spectrum. Rumbly vibrations spread out more and you feel them deeper. Whereas you feel buzzy vibrations nearer to the surface and more concentrated around the point of contact. Both can feel good, and which you enjoy more is a personal preference.

What is it:

What part of the frequency spectrum the vibrator’s power levels are centered around. It’s the vibration frequency of the middle power level (the average of the two middle levels if there is an even number of settings).

When does it matter:

If you prefer vibrations in a particular part of the rumbly-to-buzzy spectrum. This provides a quick way to see whether one vibrator’s settings are generally more rumbly or buzzy than another vibrator’s. Since most people prefer rumbly toys, we give higher scores to lower-frequency (more rumbly) vibrators. But ultimately, it’s a personal preference.

Rumbliness & Power Balance:

7.6

What is it:

A measure that rewards bullet and mini vibrators that remain rumbly (low-frequency) while packing good vibration strength. In other words, a bullet vibrator that is strong, but buzzy will perform poorly in this metric. Likewise, a bullet vibrator that is rumbly, but weak will also perform poorly. Only bullet and mini vibrators with strong, rumbly vibrations will have a high rating here. Calculated using the average normalized power / normalized frequency of the vibrator’s settings, with a derating factor applied to buzzy settings.

When does it matter:

If you want a bullet or mini vibrator with a good balance of power and rumbliness.

We rate rumbly vibrations higher than buzzy ones because it’s what most people prefer.

The majority of the Pillow Talk Racy’s vibrations are rumbly. Only the top few power levels cross into the neutral-feeling range, which I actually really enjoy. The more expensive We-Vibe Tango X and the discontinued original Tango are the only two bullet vibrators I’ve tested with comparable power that are more rumbly than the Pillow Talk Racy.

Pillow Talk Racy and Rumblier We-Vibe Tango X
The We-Vibe Tango X (right) is the only option that’s more rumbly than the Pillow Talk Racy (right) at the same strength. But it’s more expensive

The Pillow Talk Racy is a great, affordable bullet for those who prefer rumbly vibrations.

G-Spot Use

The Pillow Talk Racy is an excellent toy for internal use. Although longer, full-sized G-spot vibrators are easier to leverage and maneuver, the Racy is my favorite mini G-spot vibrator.

Pillow Talk Racy with Full Sized G-spot Vibrators
The Pillow Talk Racy (left) is a similar design to typical G-spot vibrators, but much smaller)

The Racy’s handle is longer than my other G-spot bullets, allowing your hand more space to grip the toy while using it internally. This helps keep your hand and fingers comfortable while leveraging the vibrator for firm pressure.

As a mini version of the full-sized Pillow Talk Sassy (1.5 inches wide), the Racy is slimmer at just 1.03 inches wide. People who find large toys uncomfortable will prefer the Racy’s narrower head (I like it more personally). But people who like girth and feeling “full” will enjoy the Sassy more.

Pillow Talk Racy and Pillow Talk Sassy
The Pillow Talk Racy (left) is the smaller version of the Pillow Talk Sassy (right)

I enjoy rumbly vibrations for internal stimulation, so the Pillow Talk Racy’s rumbly low and moderate power levels are fantastic. And even though the high-powered settings are not rumbly, they’re still strong enough to have an enjoyable impact.

Pillow Talk Racy Bendiness
The Pillow Talk Racy is flexible, which makes it especially comfortable for internal use

I love the slightly flexible core, which makes inserting and moving this vibrator easier and more comfortable than a rigid toy. The bulbous shape of the Racy’s head also spreads the pressure comfortably!

Stimulation Precision

Stimulation Precision

What is it:

How focused or broad the stimulation feels compared to other mini and bullet vibrators.

When does it matter:

If you prefer stimulation focused in a small, precise area or enjoy it spread out over more of your vulva. It’s a personal preference.

Pillow Talk Racy Typical Tip Width Photo

Precision:

Medium

Head or Tip Width:

1.03 inches

What is it:

The width of the vibrator’s head or tip measured at the part of the vibrator in contact with my body during normal use. For most bullet vibrators, it’s the width of the toy right before it begins to taper. For uniquely-shaped mini vibrators it’s a subjective location I determine based on my experience using the vibrator.

When does it matter:

If you enjoy broader stimulation you’ll will want a greater tip width. If you prefer precise stimulation, you’ll want a narrower tip width.

Tip Shape:

Rounded

What is it:

The shape of the bullet or mini vibrator’s tip.

When it matters:

The tip’s shape affects how broad or precise the stimulation feels. And it affects how much you can vary the stimulation. Lipstick-shaped and tapered vibrators provide very focused stimulation when using the tip or moderate precision when using the side of the toy. Rounded heads stay in that moderate range of precision. And others can be broader.

The Pillow Talk Racy lies between broad and focused. Its rounded G-spot tip is broader than most bullet vibrators at 1.03 inches wide. But as a mini vibrator, it’s still more focused than large toys like full-sized G-spot vibrators, wand vibrators, and even other mini vibrators like the We-Vibe Touch X

Bullet Vibrator Tip Precision Levels
Examples of different precision levels in bullets and mini-vibrators

This is my favorite size for applying firm pressure because it comfortably distributes the stimulation but is still narrow enough to target a specific area. The coverage is not focused exclusively on the clit, but it’s also not blanketing your whole vulva.

What is it:

How comfortable the bullet or mini vibrator is to hold and press against your body. As well as how easy it is to press the buttons, leverage the vibrator for good pressure, and maneuver it to apply the stimulation where and how you want it.

The Pillow Talk Racy is exceptionally comfortable and easy to use for clit stimulation (also see our section discussing G-spot use above).

Pillow Talk Racy and Smaller Vibrators
The Pillow Talk Racy is one of my tallest bullet vibrators

At 5 inches in length, it’s one of my longest bullet vibrators. This length makes it easier to leverage and provides more space to grip the handle comfortably without your fingers getting tired or cramped. The vibrations also don’t travel much into my hands, so I can play comfortably for a long time.

Pillow Talk Racy Hooked End and Long Handle
The Racy is very comfortable to grip and leverage due to the long handle and curved tip

The hooked end makes it even easier to apply firm pressure without wrist or finger strain. And I love that the core is slightly flexible, which keeps the firm pressure from bumping into my pubic bone too hard.

The incremental control system takes getting used to, but I like it. You increase power by holding down the button. The Pillow Talk Racy will gradually increase strength until you release the button when you reach your preferred intensity. To go back to the gentlest power, you can double-click the button.

Pillow Talk Racy with Other Mini Vibrator Buttons
The one-button press-and-hold system allows incremental adjustments upward, but not downward. It provides more control than one button tap-to-cycle setups (Nu Sensuelle Point on left), but less control than multi-button setups like the We-Vibe Touch X on the right

The downside of this method is that you can’t step back down a power level or two. You’ll have to return to the beginning by double-clicking – then hold down the button again. However, I’ve found that this hasn’t felt disruptive during use. And the advantage of this method is that it inherently provides tiny, comfortable steps between power levels – never a large, jarring leap.

The Pillow Talk Racy is remarkable during sex.

The typical angled shape of G-spot vibrators like the Racy makes them more convenient during sex. The Racy’s curved tip fits more naturally between our bodies without needing to angle the handle outward as I would with a straight bullet vibrator.

Pillow Talk Flirty Compared to Pillow Talk Racy During Sex
The curved tip of the Pillow Talk Racy (right) helps it stay tighter against my chest than straight bullets like the Pillow Talk Flirty (left)

Since the Racy is also longer than most bullet vibrators I’ve tested, my hands don’t need to reach as far and take up space between my legs. The head is small enough to slip into tight areas easily. And the slightly flexible core moves comfortably with your body to maintain contact and prevent uncomfortable bumping around.

If you’re hoping to use a bullet vibrator during sex, this is one of the most convenient and effective ones for the job!
