Our Verdict

The Pillow Talk Flirty is one of the most affordable bullet vibrators. It has a gentle to mid-strength power range with mostly neutral to buzzy vibrations. It’s quiet, easy to use, and water-resistant for easy cleaning. But the battery only lasts about 40 minutes on high power, so you’ll have to charge it frequently.

If you prefer more power and rumbliness, consider the Pillow Talk Racy for about $20 more. Or the Blush Limited Addiction is a more powerful alternative in the Flirty’s price range, but this one lacks any gentle warmup settings. The Pillow Talk Flirty is a great budget-friendly bullet vibrator if you prefer mild to moderate vibrations and find high intensity overwhelming.

Check Prices:

Pros

  • A high-quality, affordable bullet vibrator
  • Its power levels cover the gentle to mid-strength power range extensively
  • Long length for a bullet makes it comfortable to grip and easy to use
  • Exceptionally quiet

Cons

  • No high-powered vibration settings
  • Primarily buzzy vibrations (Most people prefer rumbliness, but others like buzzy vibrations)
  • Short battery life - about 40 minutes running constantly on high power

Table of Contents

Pillow Talk Flirty with other bullet and mini vibrators in background

The Pillow Talk Flirty is a budget bullet vibrator with a fun, sleek aesthetic. It’s one step below the Pillow Talk Racy. The Flirty is made of body-safe silicone with metallic-colored plastic accents and a cute crystal button. It has a textured silicone grip and is slightly flexible for improved comfort. It’s water-resistant for easy cleaning in the sink. It uses incremental speed control, which means you’ll hold down the button to gradually increase power and release to stop. It also comes with a satin storage pouch.

Compare Bullet & Mini Vibrators

You can filter this table by products’ performance and price using our comparison table tool here.

The Pillow Talk Flirty is a budget bullet vibrator that can be a good choice, depending on your preferences. It’s best for those who enjoy mild to moderate intensity, neither rumbly nor buzzy vibrations, and value gradual steps between settings. Other bullet vibrators are better if you want more extreme power or rumbliness.

The Blush Limited Addiction is another cheap bullet with better power, but it lacks gentle settings. For more rumbliness, you’ll need to increase your budget a bit for the Pillow Talk Racy. Or the pricier We-Vibe Tango X is much more rumbly.

Vibrations: Power And Range

Max Power Rating

Power Range Rating:

7.0

What is it:

How wide the range is between the highest and lowest power levels, and whether it has enough power levels that steps between settings are comfortable.

When does it matter:

A broad power range with many intensity levels is always more versatile. You can warm up with softer levels when your body isn’t ready for intense vibrations. But when you want more strength, you can turn it up high. A broad power range is also more likely to include settings at your ideal strength.

Power vs Frequency Graph:

What is it:

A graph of each bullet and mini vibrator’s power vs frequency across all of its power levels.

When does it matter:

If you want a detailed look at the vibrator’s full power and frequency characteristics. This tells you how strong and how rumbly each setting feels. You can also compare two vibrators on the same graph using our graph comparison tool here.

How Strong Is Each Power? (Click to Expand Definitions)

  • Power < 2.7: Too weak for me to orgasm, but great while warming up.
  • Power between 2.7 and 6.0: Strong enough for me to orgasm, but takes some effort. Good while warming up.
  • Power between 6.0 and 9.0: I orgasm effortlessly and reliably. These are the settings I typically finish with.
  • Power ≥ 9.0: Extreme power. Way more than I need to orgasm – I rarely use these.

The Pillow Talk Flirty has gentle to mid-level power. It’s excellent for those who prefer milder vibrations or get overstimulated by intense power.

To move through its power range, you press and hold the button to increase power gradually. As a result, steps between intensity levels are subtle and comfortable. And the Flirty covers the mild to moderate power range very well.

The lowest power starts at 1.5 out of 10 vibration strength, but the highest only reaches 5 out of 10. When I use the Pillow Talk Flirty, I can orgasm from it, but it takes some effort. So it’s not one I reach for often, but it can be great for those overstimulated by intense power.

The Pillow Talk Flirty (left) with stronger alternatives: the Blush Limited Addiction (middle) and Pillow Talk Racy (right)

If you prefer more power, consider the Blush Limited Addiction in this price range. It’s stronger but lacks gentle levels. Or, if you want to keep those low powers but add some strength, try the slightly more expensive Pillow Talk Racy.

Vibrations: Frequency (Rumbliness)

Rumbliness Rating:

5.6

What is it:

How “rumbly” (low frequency) or “buzzy” (high frequency) the vibrator feels. And whether it delivers strong vibrations while remaining reasonably rumbly. Higher scores indicate a “more rumbly” (lower-frequency) bullet or mini vibrator, since the majority of people prefer rumbliness. But ultimately vibration frequency is a personal preference.

When does it matter:

If you prefer vibrations in a specific area along the rumbly-to-buzzy spectrum. Rumbly vibrations spread out more and you feel them deeper. Whereas you feel buzzy vibrations nearer to the surface and more concentrated around the point of contact. Both can feel good, and which you enjoy more is a personal preference.

What is it:

What part of the frequency spectrum the vibrator’s power levels are centered around. It’s the vibration frequency of the middle power level (the average of the two middle levels if there is an even number of settings).

When does it matter:

If you prefer vibrations in a particular part of the rumbly-to-buzzy spectrum. This provides a quick way to see whether one vibrator’s settings are generally more rumbly or buzzy than another vibrator’s. Since most people prefer rumbly toys, we give higher scores to lower-frequency (more rumbly) vibrators. But ultimately, it’s a personal preference.

Rumbliness & Power Balance:

5.0

What is it:

A measure that rewards bullet and mini vibrators that remain rumbly (low-frequency) while packing good vibration strength. In other words, a bullet vibrator that is strong, but buzzy will perform poorly in this metric. Likewise, a bullet vibrator that is rumbly, but weak will also perform poorly. Only bullet and mini vibrators with strong, rumbly vibrations will have a high rating here. Calculated using the average normalized power / normalized frequency of the vibrator’s settings, with a derating factor applied to buzzy settings.

When does it matter:

If you want a bullet or mini vibrator with a good balance of power and rumbliness.

Show All Scores (Click to See):

We rate rumbly vibrators higher than buzzy ones because it’s what most people want. But preferences vary, so consider what you enjoy.

The Pillow Talk Flirty has below-average rumbliness. Its softest power levels are in the rumbly range, but most people will use these gentle levels only briefly while warming up. Its stronger power levels range from neutral-feeling to moderately buzzy.

It can be enjoyable if you prefer buzzy vibrations. But I find the mild power paired with the buzzy frequency packs little impact. So it’s best if you like light stimulation. I enjoy neutral or moderately buzzy vibrations, but typically when paired with more strength than the Flirty has.

You’ll need to increase your budget slightly if you prefer rumbly vibrations. The Pillow Talk Racy is the most affordable bullet with great rumbliness.

Stimulation Precision

Stimulation Precision

What is it:

How focused or broad the stimulation feels compared to other mini and bullet vibrators.

When does it matter:

If you prefer stimulation focused in a small, precise area or enjoy it spread out over more of your vulva. It’s a personal preference.

Pillow Talk Flirty Typical Tip Width Photo

Precision:

Medium

Head or Tip Width:

0.88 inches

What is it:

The width of the vibrator’s head or tip measured at the part of the vibrator in contact with my body during normal use. For most bullet vibrators, it’s the width of the toy right before it begins to taper. For uniquely-shaped mini vibrators it’s a subjective location I determine based on my experience using the vibrator.

When does it matter:

If you enjoy broader stimulation you’ll will want a greater tip width. If you prefer precise stimulation, you’ll want a narrower tip width.

Tip Shape:

Rounded

What is it:

The shape of the bullet or mini vibrator’s tip.

When it matters:

The tip’s shape affects how broad or precise the stimulation feels. And it affects how much you can vary the stimulation. Lipstick-shaped and tapered vibrators provide very focused stimulation when using the tip or moderate precision when using the side of the toy. Rounded heads stay in that moderate range of precision. And others can be broader.

The Pillow Talk Flirty provides a medium amount of precision for a bullet. The tip is slightly bulbous, spreading out the vibrations a bit and making it comfortable to press firmly against my body.

Bullet Vibrator Tip Precision Levels
Examples of different precision amounts in bullets and mini-vibrators

It’s less precise than tapered and lipstick-shaped bullet vibrators. But it’s more focused than broad mini vibrators like the Dame Pom or We-Vibe Touch X. The amount of precision you enjoy is entirely a personal preference.

Scoring Factors:

Show All Scores (Click to See):

The Pillow Talk Flirty is a very comfortable bullet that’s easy to use. It’s relatively long for a bullet vibrator (4.3 inches), making it very comfortable to grip, leverage, and apply pressure. The vibrations don’t travel into my hand much, so the grip is fantastic. And the button to adjust power is easily within my reach without needing to change my hold on the bullet.

Grip to Press Pillow Talk Flirty Button
The Pillow Talk Flirty is comfortable to hold, and you can adjust the settings without having to adjust your grip

The control system takes some getting used to, but is straightforward once you learn it. Hold the Flirty’s button, and the bullet will gradually increase power. Once it reaches your desired strength, you release the button. To move back down, you’ll need to double-click the button to begin again at the gentlest setting.

I prefer vibrators with two buttons to increase and decrease power, but I like that the Flirty’s system inherently provides gradual, subtle steps between intensity levels.

When does it matter:

If you frequently have sex in positions facing each other where space is more limited.

Scoring Factors:

Show All Scores (Click to See):

The Pillow Talk Flirty is easy to use during sex. It’s best in a spooning position or others where you’re facing away from your partner. The relatively slender size is great for fitting into tight spots. And since it has a slight flex, it’s very comfortable and able to keep great contact, even with a bit of jostling around. The slight flexibility makes it a bit more difficult to apply pressure during sex, but still easier than most bullets since it’s longer.

Positions where you’re facing your partner are a little trickier because you have to angle the toy so the end of it doesn’t hit your partner’s chest. But since it’s not a very long toy, it’s very doable. It just takes some intentionality.

The curved Pillow Talk Racy (right) helps me keep the base closer to my body than the straight Pillow Talk Flirty (left) allows

While the Pillow Talk Flirty is good during sex, I have even better success with the Pillow Talk Racy because the tip of the toy curves inward. This helps to maintain good contact without having to angle the bullet in a way that contacts my partner’s chest.

8.5

What is it:

Our perception of the bullet or mini vibrator’s durability and material quality; whether it feels cheap or sturdy and long-lasting. If we noticed any decline in a vibrator’s performance over our months of testing, it is accounted for in its Build Quality rating.

Cleaning

Cleaning Rating

9.0

What is it:

How easy the bullet or mini vibrator is to clean. Vibrators with an IPX6 (water-resistant) or IPX7 (waterproof) rating are super easy to clean under a running sink. For vibrators without a waterproof rating, I subjectively rate how difficult it is to clean.

When does it matter:

If you’re worried about damaging your toy with water. Or if you won’t use your vibrator as much if cleaning is tedious.

Waterproof Rating:

IPX6

What is it:

The bullet or mini vibrator’s waterproof rating – IPX7, IPX6, or No Rating

When does it matter:

When you plan to use your vibrator in the shower, bath, or want simpler cleaning.

  • IPX7 (Submersible): Vibrators with this rating are “waterproof.” You can submerge them in water up to a meter deep for up to 30 minutes. So you can use them in the bath and cleaning is easy.
  • IPX6 (Water Resistant): Vibrators with this rating can resist high-pressure, heavy sprays of water, but should not be fully submerged. This means you can use them in the shower (but not submerged in a bath). You can also clean them under a sink faucet without worry.
  • No Rating: These vibrators do not have a waterproof rating. You should not use them in the shower, and you must be careful to keep water away from electronic components when cleaning them.

The Pillow Talk Flirty is IPX6 water-resistant, which makes it very easy to clean. IPX6 products can resist “high-pressure, heavy sprays of water” so you can wash it under a faucet without worrying about damaging the toy. Just clean with soap and water.

General Design and Specs

Size and Weight

Pillow Talk Flirty Vibrator Length Measurement with Calipers Photo

Length:

4.3 inches

What is it:

How long the bullet or mini vibrator is, measured from the base to the tip.

When does it matter:

In general, longer mini and bullet vibrators are easier to hold, maneuver, and leverage. These types of vibrators are smaller than most, so some additional length can provide a more comfortable grip.

Pillow Talk Flirty Typical Tip Width Photo

Head or Tip Width:

0.88 inches

What is it:

The width of the vibrator’s head or tip measured at the part of the vibrator in contact with my body during normal use. For most bullet vibrators, it’s the width of the toy right before it begins to taper. For uniquely-shaped mini vibrators it’s a subjective location I determine based on my experience using the vibrator.

When does it matter:

If you enjoy broader stimulation you’ll will want a greater tip width. If you prefer precise stimulation, you’ll want a narrower tip width.

Pillow Talk Flirty Weight Measured on a Scale Photo

Weight:

1.4 ounces

What is it:

How heavy the bullet vibrator or mini vibrator is, measured with a digital scale.

When does it matter:

The weight of a bullet or mini vibrator is not that important, because they’re all relatively light (around 0.6 to 5.0 ounces). They’re not heavy like wand vibrators which can weigh up to 25 ounces and can be difficult to maneuver. A slightly heavier bullet or mini vibrator can feel sturdier, more durable, and higher quality.

Design Features

Pillow Talk Flirty Vibrator Shape Photo

Vibrator Shape:

Straight

What is it:

The general shape of the mini or bullet vibrator.

When it matters:

Most bullet vibrators have a basic, straight design. Angled bullet vibrators can be easier to leverage and apply pressure. An angled shape can also help a bullet vibrator fit more easily between bodies during sex. We use the word “palm” to refer to mini vibrators designed to fit in the palm of your hand. Palm vibrators generally provide broader stimulation than bullet vibrators.

Pillow Talk Flirty Tip Shape Photo

Head or Tip Shape:

Rounded

Head or Tip Firmness

Firm

What is it:

Whether the vibrator’s tip is firm or plush.

Pillow Talk Flirty Rigidity and Flexibility Photo

Flexibility:

Slightly Flexible

What is it:

How flexible or rigid the mini or bullet vibrator is.

When does it matter:

It’s generally a personal preference. A slightly flexible vibrator can be more comfortable to use, especially if the vibrator is very firm. However, too much flexibility makes it harder to apply substantial pressure since the vibrator’s tip can flex away.

Materials:

Silicone

What is it:

The material of the mini or bullet vibrator’s body and handle.

When it matters:

Only non-porous materials (including ABS plastic, silicone, some metals, and some other materials) are body-safe since they can be fully sanitized. Every bullet and mini vibrator we review is made using body-safe materials. The choice between different safe materials is a personal preference. Some people enjoy how smooth ABS Plastic feels. Others find silicone feels higher-quality to them. Or the additional weight and shine of a metal vibrator can make it feel luxurious.

The Pillow Talk Flirty is a budget-friendly bullet focusing on buzzy, gentle to mid-powered vibrations. If that’s what you’re looking for, either because you prefer mild stimulation or high-intensity vibes overstimulate you, then the Flirty is the best option in its price range!

Pillow Talk Flirty in Box
The Pillow Talk Flirty in the Box

If you typically need more power, then there are better options for you. The Blush Limited Addiction is a powerful option in the Flirty’s price range, but it offers no gentle levels. Or for around $20 more the Pillow Talk Racy is an excellent option that provides both gentle and powerful settings.

Compare Alternatives

Blush Limited Addiction

The Blush Limited Addiction is a more powerful vibrator than the Pillow Talk Flirty in the same price range. While the Flirty’s power range spans from gentle to mid-strength, the Limited Addiction’s spans from mid-strength to intense. It has no gentle levels for those who need a warmup, but it’s better if you want intensity. The Limited addiction is also generally buzzy like the Flirty is. But with more power, the buzzy vibrations have a better impact.

Pillow Talk Flirty and Blush Limited Addiction

Like the Flirty, the Limited Addiction is also relatively long, so it’s easy to grip and leverage. It has separate buttons to increase and decrease power, so it’s easier to step back down in intensity.

Pillow Talk Racy

The Pillow Talk Racy is a better option than the Pillow Talk Flirty for those who want both gentle power levels while warming up and high levels for a strong finish. It begins nearly as gently as the Flirty, but has more than 1.5x the power on high. The Pillow Talk Racy is also more rumbly than the Flirty (most people prefer rumbly vibrations).

Pillow Talk Flirty and Pillow Talk Racy

I love the hooked end of the Racy because it makes it even easier to apply pressure and fit into tight spaces, like during sex. And you can actually use it for G-spot stimulation as well, so it’s more versatile than the Flirty! The Racy is about $20 more expensive than the Pillow Talk Flirty.
