Our Verdict

The Maude Vibe is a great mini vibrator for those who love strong, buzzy vibrations.

Its 3 intensity levels range from moderate strength to intense power. And people who dislike rumbly vibrations will be happy to have a powerful, buzzy vibrator in contrast to the many weak buzzy options available.

On the other hand, if you prefer rumbly vibrations or typically need gentle power levels while warming up, then you’ll enjoy the Pillow Talk Racy or We-Vibe Tango X more.

Except for its lack of gentle or rumbly settings, the Maude Vibe has great performance. It’s strong, discreet, comfortable, and easy to use. I love its long teardrop shape because it makes the vibe easy to grip and leverage to apply pressure! And it has a sleek aesthetic with lovely neutral color options available.

Table of Contents

Maude Vibe with other bullet and mini vibrators in background

The Maude Vibe is a mid-budget vibrator from the wellness brand Maude. The shape is unique, but the tapered flutter tip is intended for focused stimulation, just like you’d get from a traditionally shaped bullet vibrator. Maude’s products fit those who value a simple and neutral aesthetic. Maude Vibe comes in a natural grey or green color.

Compare Bullet & Mini Vibrators

You can filter this table by products’ performance and price using our comparison table tool here.

The Maude Vibe is a good mid-priced mini vibrator. Its performance is comparable to others in its price range, and it’s a good choice for those who enjoy strong, buzzy vibrations and value a simple, neutral aesthetic. If you don’t mind brighter, poppier colors, the FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet is about the same price and has a similar vibration profile with slightly better overall performance.

A few people will need milder warmup levels than the Maude Vibe offers. Consider the Pillow Talk Racy or We-Vibe Tango X if you need gentle levels too. These are also better choices if you prefer rumbly vibrations over buzzy vibes.

Vibrations: Power And Range

Power Range Rating:

What is it:

How wide the range is between the highest and lowest power levels, and whether it has enough power levels that steps between settings are comfortable.

When does it matter:

A broad power range with many intensity levels is always more versatile. You can warm up with softer levels when your body isn’t ready for intense vibrations. But when you want more strength, you can turn it up high. A broad power range is also more likely to include settings at your ideal strength.

Power vs Frequency Graph:

What is it:

A graph of each bullet and mini vibrator’s power vs frequency across all of its power levels.

When does it matter:

If you want a detailed look at the vibrator’s full power and frequency characteristics. This tells you how strong and how rumbly each setting feels. You can also compare two vibrators on the same graph using our graph comparison tool here.

How Strong Is Each Power? (Click to Expand Definitions)

  • Power < 2.7: Too weak for me to orgasm, but great while warming up.
  • Power between 2.7 and 6.0: Strong enough for me to orgasm, but takes some effort. Good while warming up.
  • Power between 6.0 and 9.0: I orgasm effortlessly and reliably. These are the settings I typically finish with.
  • Power ≥ 9.0: Extreme power. Way more than I need to orgasm – I rarely use these.

The Maude Vibe has great strength and decent range. It’s best if you prefer moderate to intense vibrations and don’t need many gentle settings. It starts at a 5 out of 10 on the lowest level and reaches 8 out of 10 on the highest. With 3 power levels, jumps between settings aren’t staggering, but they’re not gradual either.

With how buzzy the vibrations are, even the first power level feels pretty intense and can bring me to orgasm, so I often don’t go up to the second power. I enjoy the Maude Vibe, but since there are no truly gentle levels, I’ll sometimes use another vibrator to warm up.

If you enjoy moderate to intense power but need gentler levels when warming up, you could also consider the Lovense Ambi or BMS Swan Maximum Bullet. Each reaches at least the same intensity as the Maude Vibe, but they both have gentler settings too.

Vibrations: Frequency (Rumbliness)

Rumbliness Rating:

5.4

What is it:

How “rumbly” (low frequency) or “buzzy” (high frequency) the vibrator feels. And whether it delivers strong vibrations while remaining reasonably rumbly. Higher scores indicate a “more rumbly” (lower-frequency) bullet or mini vibrator, since the majority of people prefer rumbliness. But ultimately vibration frequency is a personal preference.

When does it matter:

If you prefer vibrations in a specific area along the rumbly-to-buzzy spectrum. Rumbly vibrations spread out more and you feel them deeper. Whereas you feel buzzy vibrations nearer to the surface and more concentrated around the point of contact. Both can feel good, and which you enjoy more is a personal preference.

When does it matter:

If you prefer vibrations in a particular part of the rumbly-to-buzzy spectrum. This provides a quick way to see whether one vibrator’s settings are generally more rumbly or buzzy than another vibrator’s. Since most people prefer rumbly toys, we give higher scores to lower-frequency (more rumbly) vibrators. But ultimately, it’s a personal preference.

Rumbliness & Power Balance:

5.3

What is it:

A measure that rewards bullet and mini vibrators that remain rumbly (low-frequency) while packing good vibration strength. In other words, a bullet vibrator that is strong, but buzzy will perform poorly in this metric. Likewise, a bullet vibrator that is rumbly, but weak will also perform poorly. Only bullet and mini vibrators with strong, rumbly vibrations will have a high rating here. Calculated using the average normalized power / normalized frequency of the vibrator’s settings, with a derating factor applied to buzzy settings.

When does it matter:

If you want a bullet or mini vibrator with a good balance of power and rumbliness.

Show All Scores (Click to See):

We rate toys with rumbly vibrations higher than those with buzzy ones because it’s what most people prefer. But it’s a preference that varies from person to person, and I actually enjoy several neutral or moderately-buzzy bullet vibrators myself.

The Maude Vibe is primarily a buzzy bullet vibrator. Its first intensity level feels neutral (not quite buzzy yet), but its second feels moderately buzzy, and the third is extremely buzzy. I really enjoy the Maude Vibe’s first level and use it often. Though personally, I find its upper settings a bit too buzzy combined with their intense strength.

The Maude Vibe (left) with rumblier alternatives – the Je Joue Classic (middle) and We-Vieb Tango X (right)

I think the Maude Vibe is a great option if you want an intense, buzzy bullet vibrator. Those who prefer rumbliness will want to consider the Je Joue Classic in a similar price range or the We-Vibe Tango X (my most rumbly bullet) if you have a larger budget.

Stimulation Precision

Stimulation Precision

What is it:

How focused or broad the stimulation feels compared to other mini and bullet vibrators.

When does it matter:

If you prefer stimulation focused in a small, precise area or enjoy it spread out over more of your vulva. It’s a personal preference.

Maude Vibe Typical Tip Width Photo

Precision:

Medium

Head or Tip Width:

0.82 inches

What is it:

The width of the vibrator’s head or tip measured at the part of the vibrator in contact with my body during normal use. For most bullet vibrators, it’s the width of the toy right before it begins to taper. For uniquely-shaped mini vibrators it’s a subjective location I determine based on my experience using the vibrator.

When does it matter:

If you enjoy broader stimulation you’ll will want a greater tip width. If you prefer precise stimulation, you’ll want a narrower tip width.

Tip Shape:

Rounded

What is it:

The shape of the bullet or mini vibrator’s tip.

When it matters:

The tip’s shape affects how broad or precise the stimulation feels. And it affects how much you can vary the stimulation. Lipstick-shaped and tapered vibrators provide very focused stimulation when using the tip or moderate precision when using the side of the toy. Rounded heads stay in that moderate range of precision. And others can be broader.

The Maude Vibe provides a medium amount of precision compared to other bullets and mini vibrators. It’s definitely not broad like palm vibrators such as the Dame Pom or We-Vibe Touch X. But its rounded tip doesn’t come to a fine, precise point like tapered-tipped or lipstick-shaped bullets.

Maude Vibe Medium Precision with Broad Dame Pom and We-Vibe Touch X
The Medium precision of the Maude Vibe (left) compared to broad coverage of the Dame Pom (middle) and We-Vibe Touch X (right)

It’s reasonably versatile as you can use just the end for more focused stimulation or press its widened side against your vulva to cover more surface area.

The Maude Vibe is reasonably comfortable and easy to use. It’s a great length to leverage for firm pressure, and its tapered shape helps it fit easily in tight spots. The vibes travel minimally into my hand, but I don’t find it distracting. Unless that’s an area you’re especially sensitive to, it won’t be a deal-breaker for most people.

Maude Vibe Single Control Button
The one-button control system of the Maude Vibe

It has a one-button control system to cycle through the 3 power levels. Since there are only a few levels and no vibration patterns, I don’t mind that you need to cycle through the settings to step back down in intensity. But I have noticed some responsiveness issues with the button. Sometimes I have to press it a couple of times before it works.

Je Joue Classic and We-Vibe Tango X
Multi button alternatives, the Je Joue Classic (left) and We-Vibe Tango X (right)

If you strongly prefer the ability to increase and decrease power with separate buttons, the Je Joue Classic and We-Vibe Tango X are great choices. These two also have the most similar power range to the Maude Vibe, but they are more rumbly.

Scoring Factors:

The Maude Vibe is generally good to use during sex. It works best in positions where you’re not facing your partner (like Spooning or Doggystyle). It fits into tight spaces, and you can leverage it comfortably with just one hand. Its rounded tip and shape that widens toward the base also help it maintain excellent contact with my clit during movement.

The Maude Vibe is a little trickier in positions where you are facing your partner, like Missionary. Since the Maude Vibe is longer than some bullets, the handle can bump against your partner. But if you angle it differently, you can still achieve good clit stimulation without issue. I still generally enjoy it in all positions.

My only complaint is the button, which you must press fairly hard, and sometimes it takes a couple of tries to get it turned on because it has some responsiveness issues. It’s something you get used to if you’re using it often, but could be frustrating to some.

Cleaning

Cleaning Rating

9.0

What is it:

How easy the bullet or mini vibrator is to clean. Vibrators with an IPX6 (water-resistant) or IPX7 (waterproof) rating are super easy to clean under a running sink. For vibrators without a waterproof rating, I subjectively rate how difficult it is to clean.

Waterproof Rating:

IPX6

What is it:

The bullet or mini vibrator’s waterproof rating – IPX7, IPX6, or No Rating

When does it matter:

When you plan to use your vibrator in the shower, bath, or want simpler cleaning.

  • IPX7 (Submersible): Vibrators with this rating are “waterproof.” You can submerge them in water up to a meter deep for up to 30 minutes. So you can use them in the bath and cleaning is easy.
  • IPX6 (Water Resistant): Vibrators with this rating can resist high-pressure, heavy sprays of water, but should not be fully submerged. This means you can use them in the shower (but not submerged in a bath). You can also clean them under a sink faucet without worry.
  • No Rating: These vibrators do not have a waterproof rating. You should not use them in the shower, and you must be careful to keep water away from electronic components when cleaning them.

The Maude Vibe is very easy to clean. It has an IPX6 water-resistance rating which means it can safely resist heavy jet-streams of water. So you can safely clean it with soap and water under a running faucet. But you should not completely submerge it.

General Design and Specs

Size and Weight

Maude Vibe Vibrator Length Measurement with Calipers Photo

Length:

4.8 inches

What is it:

How long the bullet or mini vibrator is, measured from the base to the tip.

When does it matter:

In general, longer mini and bullet vibrators are easier to hold, maneuver, and leverage. These types of vibrators are smaller than most, so some additional length can provide a more comfortable grip.

Maude Vibe Typical Tip Width Photo

Head or Tip Width:

0.82 inches

What is it:

The width of the vibrator’s head or tip measured at the part of the vibrator in contact with my body during normal use. For most bullet vibrators, it’s the width of the toy right before it begins to taper. For uniquely-shaped mini vibrators it’s a subjective location I determine based on my experience using the vibrator.

When does it matter:

If you enjoy broader stimulation you’ll will want a greater tip width. If you prefer precise stimulation, you’ll want a narrower tip width.

Maude Vibe Weight Measured on a Scale Photo

Weight:

3.4 ounces

What is it:

How heavy the bullet vibrator or mini vibrator is, measured with a digital scale.

When does it matter:

The weight of a bullet or mini vibrator is not that important, because they’re all relatively light (around 0.6 to 5.0 ounces). They’re not heavy like wand vibrators which can weigh up to 25 ounces and can be difficult to maneuver. A slightly heavier bullet or mini vibrator can feel sturdier, more durable, and higher quality.

Design Features

Maude Vibe Vibrator Shape Photo

Vibrator Shape:

Unique

What is it:

The general shape of the mini or bullet vibrator.

When it matters:

Most bullet vibrators have a basic, straight design. Angled bullet vibrators can be easier to leverage and apply pressure. An angled shape can also help a bullet vibrator fit more easily between bodies during sex. We use the word “palm” to refer to mini vibrators designed to fit in the palm of your hand. Palm vibrators generally provide broader stimulation than bullet vibrators.

Maude Vibe Tip Shape Photo

Head or Tip Shape:

Rounded

Head or Tip Firmness

Plush

What is it:

Whether the vibrator’s tip is firm or plush.

Maude Vibe Rigidity and Flexibility Photo

Flexibility:

Rigid

What is it:

How flexible or rigid the mini or bullet vibrator is.

When does it matter:

It’s generally a personal preference. A slightly flexible vibrator can be more comfortable to use, especially if the vibrator is very firm. However, too much flexibility makes it harder to apply substantial pressure since the vibrator’s tip can flex away.

Materials:

Silicone

What is it:

The material of the mini or bullet vibrator’s body and handle.

When it matters:

Only non-porous materials (including ABS plastic, silicone, some metals, and some other materials) are body-safe since they can be fully sanitized. Every bullet and mini vibrator we review is made using body-safe materials. The choice between different safe materials is a personal preference. Some people enjoy how smooth ABS Plastic feels. Others find silicone feels higher-quality to them. Or the additional weight and shine of a metal vibrator can make it feel luxurious.

The Maude Vibe is a great mini vibrator for people who enjoy strong, buzzy vibrations. People who prefer rumbly vibrators should consider other options like those below. But it’s one of the best buzzy bullet / mini vibrators I’ve tried.

Maude Vibe in Storage Pouch
The Maude Vibe comes with a storage pouch

It’s comfortable, discreet, and easy to use during sex. Its main downsides are a lack of very gentle settings and a button that sometimes is a bit unresponsive. Despite a couple of downsides, I’ve enjoyed the Maude Vibe. If you enjoy moderate to intense buzzy vibes, I think you’ll enjoy it too.

Je Joue Classic

Maude Vibe and Je Joue Classic

If you prefer rumbly vibrations over buzzy vibrations, the Je Joue Classic is a generally better choice than the Maude Vibe. The Je Joue Classic Bullet has similar power with a more rumbly vibration profile than the Maude Vibe. It also has some gentler low settings for those who need a softer warmup. And it has separate buttons to increase and decrease the vibration intensity rather than cycling through with a single button like the Maude Vibe. It’s only a tiny bit more expensive than the Maude Vibe.

We-Vibe Tango X

Maude Vibe and We-Vibe Tango X

The We-Vibe Tango X is another bullet vibrator that’s better than the Maude Vibe for those who prefer rumbly vibrations. This one is even more rumbly than the Je Joue Classic, though it’s also more expensive. The We-Vibe Tango X has a comparable power range to the Maude Vibe, reaching nearly the same top strength, but it also includes gentler levels. It’s exceptionally comfortable and easy to use solo and during sex. The Maude Vibe is quieter, though.

Blush Limited Addiction

Maude Vibe with Blush Limited Addiction

The Blush Limited Addiction is cheaper than the Maude Vibe with a similar vibration profile. Like the Maude Vibe, the Blush Limited Addiction also has several powerful, neutral to buzzy settings. But the Blush also has a moderately rumbly lower level for those who want some rumbliness. And it maxes out with even more strength. But the Maude Vibe has a more luxurious and unique aesthetic.

Lovense Ambi

Maude Vibe and Lovense Ambi

The Lovense Ambi is only a bit more expensive but provides a more versatile vibration range, both in terms of power and rumbliness. The Lovense Ambi covers a wider power range than the Maude Vibe from gentle to intense. And its vibrations can feel anywhere from extremely rumbly on low power to moderately buzzy on high. It’s a great versatile bullet for those unsure of their personal strength and frequency preferences. I also find it more comfortable and easier to use during sex than the Maude Vibe.
