Our Verdict

The Lovense Exomoon is an app-controlled lipstick bullet vibrator that’s best if you want an exceptional app and prefer rumbly vibrations with mild-to-moderate strength.

The Exomoon is more rumbly than Lovense’s other vibrators, though it doesn’t pack as much intensity as some, including the Lovense Ambi bullet vibrator. Those who value the deep impact of rumbly vibrations will want the Exomoon. Those who care more about intensity will prefer the Lovense Ambi.

Lovense’s app is excellent – the best of any brand we’ve tried. Its features are helpful and intuitive. And the Exomoon maintains a steady, reliable connection with the Lovense app. The Exomoon is also quiet and visibly discreet with its realistic “lipstick” design.

Pros

  • Rumbly vibrations from start to finish
  • A ton of intensity levels in the mild to moderate strength range - steps between settings are super gradual and comfortable
  • Lovense's app control is the best of any brand, both in features and in connectivity
  • Very quiet
  • Aesthetic is discreet (it looks like lipstick)

Cons

  • No high-intensity vibrations
  • The length is a bit short, making it more challenging to use during sex than some other bullets

Lovense Exomoon with other bullet and mini vibrators in background

The Lovense Exomoon is a Bluetooth lipstick bullet vibrator with a discreet appearance and quiet sound levels. It’s one of two bullet vibrators in Lovense’s lineup. The other is the Lovense Ambi, which is stronger but less rumbly.

Like all Lovense toys, you can control the Exomoon in the Lovense app. This gives you an endless variety of vibration patterns and precise control over the strength. And you can share control with a nearby or long-distance partner. See all our remote control vibrator recommendations here.

You can also access 3 preset intensity levels and 4 vibration patterns without using the app. The Exomoon is made of body-safe materials, including an ABS plastic handle and a silicone tip. It’s waterproof for easy cleaning, uses a magnetic USB charger, comes with a storage bag, and has a 1-year warranty.

Compare Bullet & Mini Vibrators

You can filter this table by products’ performance and price using our comparison table tool here.

The Lovense Exomoon is a good mid-budget, app-controlled bullet vibrator. Lovense’s app and connectivity are the best of any brand. If you’re choosing between Lovense’s two app-controlled bullets, go with the Lovense Exomoon if you care more about rumbliness. If you care more about power, go with the Lovense Ambi

And although the Exomoon’s power is gentler than the Ambi, it’s still more powerful than app-controlled options from other brands like the Satisfyer Ultra Power Bullet 8. The only stronger, more rumbly options I’ve found are not app-controlled, such as the We-Vibe Tango X.

Vibrations: Power And Range

Max Power Rating

Power Range Rating:

7.7

What is it:

How wide the range is between the highest and lowest power levels, and whether it has enough power levels that steps between settings are comfortable.

When does it matter:

A broad power range with many intensity levels is always more versatile. You can warm up with softer levels when your body isn’t ready for intense vibrations. But when you want more strength, you can turn it up high. A broad power range is also more likely to include settings at your ideal strength.

Power vs Frequency Graph:

What is it:

A graph of each bullet and mini vibrator’s power vs frequency across all of its power levels.

When does it matter:

If you want a detailed look at the vibrator’s full power and frequency characteristics. This tells you how strong and how rumbly each setting feels. You can also compare two vibrators on the same graph using our graph comparison tool here.

How Strong Is Each Power? (Click to Expand Definitions)

  • Power < 2.7: Too weak for me to orgasm, but great while warming up.
  • Power between 2.7 and 6.0: Strong enough for me to orgasm, but takes some effort. Good while warming up.
  • Power between 6.0 and 9.0: I orgasm effortlessly and reliably. These are the settings I typically finish with.
  • Power ≥ 9.0: Extreme power. Way more than I need to orgasm – I rarely use these.

The Lovense Exomoon has a good power range with gentle-to-moderate strength but lacks intense upper levels.

When controlling the Exomoon in the Lovense app, the lowest power starts at just 1 out of 10 vibration strength. This gentle starting level is excellent for those who need a soft warmup. And you can work extremely gradually through 20 intensity levels to reach its max strength of 5.4 out of 10, so there are no giant, jarring leaps. Increments are very comfortable.

Lovense Exomoon and Lovense Ambi
The Lovense Exomoon (left) is less powerful than Lovense’s other bullet, the Lovense Ambi (right)

The top strength of 5.4 out of 10 is less intense than some, including Lovense’s other bullet vibrator, the Lovense Ambi (which reaches 8 out of 10). However, I still orgasm reliably with this moderate level of strength, and it will be enough for many people.

Those who prioritize rumbliness over high intensity will enjoy the Exomoon. If you prefer power over rumbliness, consider the Lovense Ambi.

Lovense Exomoon and App
You can access more gradual power levels through the Lovense app

When using the Exomoon’s button instead of the app, you’ll have access to 3 intensity levels. The first begins at about 25% power, the second at around 60%, and the third is 100% power. So the on-toy controls still provide a good power range when you don’t want to use the Lovense app.

Vibrations: Frequency (Rumbliness)

Rumbliness Rating:

8.6

What is it:

How “rumbly” (low frequency) or “buzzy” (high frequency) the vibrator feels. And whether it delivers strong vibrations while remaining reasonably rumbly. Higher scores indicate a “more rumbly” (lower-frequency) bullet or mini vibrator, since the majority of people prefer rumbliness. But ultimately vibration frequency is a personal preference.

When does it matter:

If you prefer vibrations in a specific area along the rumbly-to-buzzy spectrum. Rumbly vibrations spread out more and you feel them deeper. Whereas you feel buzzy vibrations nearer to the surface and more concentrated around the point of contact. Both can feel good, and which you enjoy more is a personal preference.

What part of the frequency spectrum the vibrator’s power levels are centered around. It’s the vibration frequency of the middle power level (the average of the two middle levels if there is an even number of settings).

When does it matter:

If you prefer vibrations in a particular part of the rumbly-to-buzzy spectrum. This provides a quick way to see whether one vibrator’s settings are generally more rumbly or buzzy than another vibrator’s. Since most people prefer rumbly toys, we give higher scores to lower-frequency (more rumbly) vibrators. But ultimately, it’s a personal preference.

Rumbliness & Power Balance:

7.9

What is it:

A measure that rewards bullet and mini vibrators that remain rumbly (low-frequency) while packing good vibration strength. In other words, a bullet vibrator that is strong, but buzzy will perform poorly in this metric. Likewise, a bullet vibrator that is rumbly, but weak will also perform poorly. Only bullet and mini vibrators with strong, rumbly vibrations will have a high rating here. Calculated using the average normalized power / normalized frequency of the vibrator’s settings, with a derating factor applied to buzzy settings.

When does it matter:

If you want a bullet or mini vibrator with a good balance of power and rumbliness.

Show All Scores (Click to See):

Most people prefer rumbly vibrators, so we rate them higher than buzzy ones. However, preferences vary, so consider what you enjoy!

The Lovense Exomoon has great rumbliness. It’s lower-frequency (more rumbly) than most bullet vibrators, including the Lovense Ambi. In fact, every power level lands in the rumbly range. The gentler settings are extremely rumbly, but even its highest power levels remain moderately rumbly.

Lovense Exomoon and We-Vibe Tango X
The Lovense Exomoon (left) with a rumblier alternative, the We-Vibe Tango X (right)

I have not found a more rumbly app-controlled bullet vibrator than the Lovense Exomoon. It’s great for those who value rumbliness and don’t need exceptional intensity. If you want more power and don’t need app control, consider the extremely rumbly We-Vibe Tango X.

Stimulation Precision

Stimulation Precision

What is it:

How focused or broad the stimulation feels compared to other mini and bullet vibrators.

When does it matter:

If you prefer stimulation focused in a small, precise area or enjoy it spread out over more of your vulva. It’s a personal preference.

Lovense Exomoon Typical Tip Width Photo

Precision:

Precise

Head or Tip Width:

0.71 inches

What is it:

The width of the vibrator’s head or tip measured at the part of the vibrator in contact with my body during normal use. For most bullet vibrators, it’s the width of the toy right before it begins to taper. For uniquely-shaped mini vibrators it’s a subjective location I determine based on my experience using the vibrator.

When does it matter:

If you enjoy broader stimulation you’ll will want a greater tip width. If you prefer precise stimulation, you’ll want a narrower tip width.

Tip Shape:

Lipstick

What is it:

The shape of the bullet or mini vibrator’s tip.

When it matters:

The tip’s shape affects how broad or precise the stimulation feels. And it affects how much you can vary the stimulation. Lipstick-shaped and tapered vibrators provide very focused stimulation when using the tip or moderate precision when using the side of the toy. Rounded heads stay in that moderate range of precision. And others can be broader.

Whether you prefer focused or broad stimulation is entirely a personal preference.

The Lovense Exomoon provides focused stimulation. It’s one of the narrowest bullet vibrators I’ve tested. And the lipstick tip comes to a fine point, giving it an even tinier surface area.

Tip of Lovense Exomoon Compared to Tip of Lovense Ambi
The tip of the Lovense Exomoon (left) is much more precise than the Lovense Ambi’s (right)

This is great for limiting stimulation to a small, specific area. If you prefer direct clitoral stimulation, this is an excellent option. I can apply medium pressure with this bullet but don’t like to press too hard, or the small tip begins to feel pokey. The Lovense Ambi provides more moderate focus if you enjoy some broader stimulation.

Additional Features

The Lovense app is outstanding and is my personal favorite app for controlling my toys. It offers a wide variety of simple, intuitive, and useful features to control the Exomoon. (The connectivity is also extremely reliable – we discuss connectivity here).

The main “Remote” control screen is easy to use and gives precise, extremely versatile control over your vibrations. Use the “Float” button to quickly set the vibration power to any constant level.

Lovense Exomoon Float function
The Lovense Exomoon Float function

Or you can draw out the exact pattern you want to feel by dragging your finger up and down to increase or decrease the vibration strength. Click “Loop” to put your creation on repeat. If you enjoy the pattern, you can save it for future use.

Lovense Exomoon Loop Function
The Lovense Exomoon “Loop” function

You’ll also see the vibration pattern clearly on the screen, so if a partner controls your Exomoon, they can tell exactly what you’re feeling. Many other brands don’t provide good visuals to your partner, making it hard for them to understand how their actions affect your toy’s vibrations.

One downside we noticed is that if you lock your phone screen, the vibration pattern changes a bit. The Exomoon keeps vibrating, but it’s not the same pattern you drew using the “Loop” button. This issue is only a minor inconvenience, and it does not occur when using the “Float” button to set a constant strength or when using pre-designed patterns.

Lovense Exomoon Patterns Adjusting Speed
The Lovense Exomoon Patterns function and adjusting the speed

You can choose from pre-made patterns under the “My Patterns” screen and adjust their speed. Or head to the “Discover” section to view patterns created and shared by other Lovense users. You can save any of these to your library.

Lovense Exomoon Music function
The Lovense Exomoon Music function

You can vibrate along to your favorite songs with the “Music” feature, but they have to be songs saved on your phone. Spotify compatibility has been disabled since September 1, 2022, when Spotify discontinued support for third-party apps. You can adjust how sensitive your toy is to the beats of the music. This is an excellent feature if you want to enjoy a constantly changing pattern without keeping your fingers busy on the screen.

Lovense Exomoon Sound Function
The Lovense Sound control feature

Use the “Sound” feature to make your bullet responsive to the noise picked up by your phone’s mic. This is especially fun in a louder environment with Lovense’s wearables like the Lovense Ferri or Lovense Lush 3

You can also set an alarm for your bullet to buzz at a particular time, though this is less useful for handheld toys like the Exomoon.

App Control: Long-Distance Features

Long-Distance Features Rating:

9.4

What is it:

The quality of the app’s long-distance features (with a partner anywhere in the world). This includes its long-distance control functionality, in-app video chatting capabilities, versatility, and ease of use. You’ll also want to consider its connectivity.

When does it matter:

When you want to share control of your toy with a partner farther away than the toy’s Bluetooth range. You can connect with a partner anywhere in the world using the app’s long-distance mode as long as you each have wifi or cell data.

The Lovense Exomoon’s long-distance features and experience are excellent.

The Lovense app allows you to connect with a long-distance partner anywhere in the world. Adding a partner (or partners) is simple. Once you’ve saved them in your partners list, you can text, send photos, video chat, and share control of your toy – all within the Lovense app.

Your partner’s control screen is the same as the “Remote” feature you have during solo play. So they can easily create a repeating pattern using the “Loop” function or set your Exomoon to a constant power using “Float.”

Lovense Exomoon Partner Control Screen
Your partner’s control screen while controlling the Lovense Exomoon during a video call

While video-chatting, your partner can see the vibration pattern overlayed on the screen so they can tell what you’re feeling. Or they can hide the vibration pattern to see you more clearly! Lovense’s visuals during video calls are better than other brands like Satisfyer. You can also share control without video or audio for anonymous play.

Lovense Exomoon Video Options
You can turn off your video feed by selecting the crossed out video icon

You can save multiple partners in your list if you connect with them often. Or send out an anonymous one-time link to someone. The anonymous feature lets you send a control link that works for a set amount of time. Once the time expires, they’ll lose access.

If your partner also has a Lovense toy, you can simultaneously control each other’s toys! You can adjust your partner’s settings to either require an invite and confirmation to control your toy each time, or to automatically accept their request so they can take you by surprise! This feature is best for their wearable toys like the Lovense Ferri and Lovense Lush 3.

Many Lovense Toys
If your partner has a Lovense toy too, you can control each other’s simultaneously through the app. Here are all of my Lovense toys

The Lovense Remote is the most intuitive app for long-distance control I’ve used. And you each have great control and privacy settings to customize the experience. If you are primarily looking for a long-distance bullet vibrator, a Lovense toy like the Exomoon or Lovense Ambi provides the best experience.

The Lovense Exomoon and other Lovense toys have the most reliable connectivity with their app. It connects to the app quickly and easily. And it remains reliably connected.

The first time you pair the Exomoon with Bluetooth, you’ll select “Add Toy.” The initial pairing process takes less than 20 seconds. After you’ve paired it once, when you open the Lovense app, it will typically connect instantly and automatically

Lovense Exomoon Pairing Button with Lovense App
After initial pairing, the Exomoon will often connect automatically as soon as you open the app and press the toy’s button

Most brands require you to walk through a series of steps each time you want to play, but Lovense’s connection is typically instantaneous.

I hardly ever have trouble with it disconnecting during use, even if I leave it dormant while using other apps. If it disconnects due to separating the toy and phone, it often automatically re-pairs when they’re back in range.

And if you do have to manually re-pair it, it’s a very quick and easy process. Simply select the Exomoon from your list of toys again.

Lovense Exomoon Paired with Lovense App

The same applies to long-distance control. My partner and I can keep a reliable connection, with disconnections being rare and minimally disruptive even if they do occur.

If app control is important to you, Lovense toys are the best – primarily because of their reliable connectivity.

The Exomoon has just one button on the toy. So if you don’t want to use the Lovense app, you’ll need to cycle through the 3 intensity levels and 4 vibration patterns. I wish it had separate buttons to increase and decrease power. But if you want more in-depth control, you can use the app. The button is easy to press without adjusting my grip.

The Lovense Exomoon is a decent bullet to use during sex.

Since it’s on the shorter end, it can be a little tiring to reach down and hold it in place during sex. It just takes a little more effort than some.

The tapered tip works well during solo use but requires you to angle the bullet’s base away from your body to keep consistent contact. That angle can be restricted in positions where you’re facing your partner, like Missionary. It’s still doable if you lean away from each other a bit. But it takes more intentionality than some bullets – especially those with angled shapes like the Lovense Ambi.

Lovense Ambi Angled Shape
I prefer angled bullets like the Lovense Ambi for use during sex

It’s better in positions facing away from your partner where you have plenty of room to maneuver the bullet.

If using your bullet during sex is a top priority, consider the Lovense Ambi. If it’s not a top priority, most people will still enjoy the Exomoon during sex.

How easy the bullet or mini vibrator is to clean. Vibrators with an IPX6 (water-resistant) or IPX7 (waterproof) rating are super easy to clean under a running sink. For vibrators without a waterproof rating, I subjectively rate how difficult it is to clean.

When does it matter:

If you’re worried about damaging your toy with water. Or if you won’t use your vibrator as much if cleaning is tedious.

Lovense Exomoon Waterproof Rating Demonstration

Waterproof Rating:

IPX7

What is it:

The bullet or mini vibrator’s waterproof rating – IPX7, IPX6, or No Rating

When does it matter:

When you plan to use your vibrator in the shower, bath, or want simpler cleaning.

  • IPX7 (Submersible): Vibrators with this rating are “waterproof.” You can submerge them in water up to a meter deep for up to 30 minutes. So you can use them in the bath and cleaning is easy.
  • IPX6 (Water Resistant): Vibrators with this rating can resist high-pressure, heavy sprays of water, but should not be fully submerged. This means you can use them in the shower (but not submerged in a bath). You can also clean them under a sink faucet without worry.
  • No Rating: These vibrators do not have a waterproof rating. You should not use them in the shower, and you must be careful to keep water away from electronic components when cleaning them.

The Lovense Exomoon is completely waterproof (IPX7 submersible), so it’s very easy to wash. You can submerge it in water without worrying about keeping parts dry while scrubbing with soap and water!

General Design and Specs

Size and Weight

Lovense Exomoon Vibrator Length Measurement with Calipers Photo

Length:

3.4 inches

What is it:

How long the bullet or mini vibrator is, measured from the base to the tip.

When does it matter:

In general, longer mini and bullet vibrators are easier to hold, maneuver, and leverage. These types of vibrators are smaller than most, so some additional length can provide a more comfortable grip.

Lovense Exomoon Typical Tip Width Photo

Head or Tip Width:

0.71 inches

What is it:

The width of the vibrator’s head or tip measured at the part of the vibrator in contact with my body during normal use. For most bullet vibrators, it’s the width of the toy right before it begins to taper. For uniquely-shaped mini vibrators it’s a subjective location I determine based on my experience using the vibrator.

When does it matter:

If you enjoy broader stimulation you’ll will want a greater tip width. If you prefer precise stimulation, you’ll want a narrower tip width.

Lovense Exomoon Weight Measured on a Scale Photo

Weight:

1.1 ounces

What is it:

How heavy the bullet vibrator or mini vibrator is, measured with a digital scale.

When does it matter:

The weight of a bullet or mini vibrator is not that important, because they’re all relatively light (around 0.6 to 5.0 ounces). They’re not heavy like wand vibrators which can weigh up to 25 ounces and can be difficult to maneuver. A slightly heavier bullet or mini vibrator can feel sturdier, more durable, and higher quality.

Design Features

Lovense Exomoon Vibrator Shape Photo

Vibrator Shape:

Straight

What is it:

The general shape of the mini or bullet vibrator.

When it matters:

Most bullet vibrators have a basic, straight design. Angled bullet vibrators can be easier to leverage and apply pressure. An angled shape can also help a bullet vibrator fit more easily between bodies during sex. We use the word “palm” to refer to mini vibrators designed to fit in the palm of your hand. Palm vibrators generally provide broader stimulation than bullet vibrators.

Lovense Exomoon Tip Shape Photo

Head or Tip Shape:

Lipstick

Head or Tip Firmness

Firm

What is it:

Whether the vibrator’s tip is firm or plush.

Lovense Exomoon Rigidity and Flexibility Photo

Flexibility:

Rigid

What is it:

How flexible or rigid the mini or bullet vibrator is.

When does it matter:

It’s generally a personal preference. A slightly flexible vibrator can be more comfortable to use, especially if the vibrator is very firm. However, too much flexibility makes it harder to apply substantial pressure since the vibrator’s tip can flex away.

Materials:

Silicone with Plastic Handle

What is it:

The material of the mini or bullet vibrator’s body and handle.

When it matters:

Only non-porous materials (including ABS plastic, silicone, some metals, and some other materials) are body-safe since they can be fully sanitized. Every bullet and mini vibrator we review is made using body-safe materials. The choice between different safe materials is a personal preference. Some people enjoy how smooth ABS Plastic feels. Others find silicone feels higher-quality to them. Or the additional weight and shine of a metal vibrator can make it feel luxurious.

The Lovense Exomoon is a great app-controlled bullet vibrator if you value rumbliness over extreme intensity.

Lovense has the best app and most reliable connectivity, so the app experience is exceptional. Those looking to share control with a nearby or long-distance partner will enjoy it. It’s more rumbly than other Lovense toys but is less powerful than the Lovense Ambi. However, it still packs plenty of strength for me to orgasm. People who enjoy mild to moderate intensity will be happy with the Exomoon.

If you want the best app-controlled bullet vibrator:

  • Choose the Lovense Exomoon if you prioritize rumbliness and enjoy mild to moderate strength.
  • Choose the Lovense Ambi if you prioritize high intensity over deeper rumbliness. (The Ambi is also easier to use during sex because of its angled design).

Compare Alternatives

Lovense Ambi

The Lovense Ambi is a better app-controlled bullet than the Exomoon for those who prefer high intensity. The Ambi is about 1.5 times stronger than the Lovense Exomoon. The Ambi has decent rumbliness but becomes buzzy on its highest power levels. Whereas the Exomoon is rumbly throughout its power range.

Lovense Exomoon and Lovense Ambi

The Ambi’s angled shape makes it easier to use during sex. It fits more naturally between bodies than the Exomoon does. The Ambi’s tip is broader than the Exomoon’s, which can be better if you prefer firm pressure.

They both use the same great Lovense app and have excellent connectivity – so the app experience is the same. For the most part, the Ambi is better if you would rather trade off some rumbliness for more power or plan to use the vibrator a lot during sex. The Exomoon is better if you would rather trade off some power for deeper rumbliness.

Satisfyer Ultra Power Bullet 8

The Satisfyer Ultra Power Bullet 8 is a cheaper app-controlled bullet vibrator, but the Lovense Exomoon is better overall.

Lovense Exomoon and Satisfyer Ultra Power Bullet 8

The Exomoon is stronger and more rumbly than the Satisfyer Ultra Power Bullet 8, which is quite buzzy. The Exomoon is quieter and easier to use as well.

Both apps are excellent. Satisfyer has the second-best app, just behind Lovense. Their Bluetooth control features are very similar, though I find Lovense’s more intuitive. Satisfyer provides a less positive visual experience during long-distance play than Lovense though. Both remain connected reliably to the app.

If you have the budget, the Exomoon is better. But the Satisfyer Ultra Power Bullet 8 can be a good choice for those who want app control on a tight budget.

We-Vibe Tango X

The We-Vibe Tango X is a premium competitor to the Lovense Exomoon that’s better for those who want the most rumbly vibrations available in a bullet vibrator and more strength.

Lovense Exomoon and We-Vibe Tango X

The Tango X is about 1.43 times as powerful as the Exomoon. And it is even more rumbly – it’s the most rumbly bullet vibrator we’ve tested. Unlike the Exomoon, the Tango X is not app-controlled, so you cannot share control with a partner. But its on-toy controls are better, using 3 separate buttons compared to the Exomoon’s 1 button. With the Tango X, you can separately increase power, decrease power, and change the vibration pattern.
