Our Verdict

The Lelo Mia 2 can be a good bullet vibrator if you prefer gentle stimulation and are overwhelmed by intense vibrations. It provides a ton of power levels, all in the low-intensity range.

If you prefer more power, the We-Vibe Tango X, the Lovense Ambi, or the We-Vibe Touch X are better options in this price range. These are each more powerful than the Mia 2 and also have some (though fewer) mild settings. I personally prefer these since I enjoy the intensity and only need gentle levels while warming up.

Except for its lack of powerful settings, the Mia 2 has great performance. It’s comfortable, easy to use solo or during sex, and it’s quiet. So if you strictly prefer mild stimulation, it can work well since it has the most concentration of settings in the gentle range.

Compare Bullet & Mini Vibrators

You can filter this table by products’ performance and price using our comparison table tool here.

The Lelo Mia 2 has more gentle vibration settings than other bullet vibrators, so it’s a good option for people who know they want mild stimulation. If you enjoy more intense stimulation, there are many stronger options depending on your preferences. For more powerful neutral-to-buzzy vibrations, consider the Lovense Ambi or FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet. For stronger rumbly vibrations, consider the We-Vibe Tango X or We-Vibe Touch X.

Vibrations: Power And Range

What is it:

How wide the range is between the highest and lowest power levels, and whether it has enough power levels that steps between settings are comfortable.

When does it matter:

A broad power range with many intensity levels is always more versatile. You can warm up with softer levels when your body isn’t ready for intense vibrations. But when you want more strength, you can turn it up high. A broad power range is also more likely to include settings at your ideal strength.

Power vs Frequency Graph:

What is it:

A graph of each bullet and mini vibrator’s power vs frequency across all of its power levels.

When does it matter:

If you want a detailed look at the vibrator’s full power and frequency characteristics. This tells you how strong and how rumbly each setting feels. You can also compare two vibrators on the same graph using our graph comparison tool here.

How Strong Is Each Power? (Click to Expand Definitions)

  • Power < 2.7: Too weak for me to orgasm, but great while warming up.
  • Power between 2.7 and 6.0: Strong enough for me to orgasm, but takes some effort. Good while warming up.
  • Power between 6.0 and 9.0: I orgasm effortlessly and reliably. These are the settings I typically finish with.
  • Power ≥ 9.0: Extreme power. Way more than I need to orgasm – I rarely use these.

The Lelo Mia 2 has a very soft power range, which can be good or bad depending on your needs. Its first power starts at 0.1 out of 10 for vibration strength, which is the gentlest of all my bullet vibrators. There are 12 power settings in total, with the top strength reaching only 3.25 out of 10.

This means you have lots of small, incremental power steps to enjoy within that gentle range. Making the Mia 2 a nice option for those who are easily overstimulated and who need lots of soft vibrations without too much intensity. I can orgasm with the top strength of the Mia 2, but it definitely takes some effort.

Lelo Mia 2 and Stronger Lovense Ambi and We-Vibe Touch X
The Lelo Mia 2 (left) with stronger alternatives, the Lovense Ambi (middle) and We-Vibe Touch X (right)

I like more power personally, and those who want intensity will prefer other options in a comparable price range. For instance, the Lovense Ambi and We-Vibe Touch X each reach closer to an 8 out of 10 on high and begin softly at 1.5 and 2.5 out of 10 on low. So you still have gentler strengths for warming up, but you also have the option to crank up the intensity.

Vibrations: Frequency (Rumbliness)

Rumbliness Rating:

7.0

What is it:

How “rumbly” (low frequency) or “buzzy” (high frequency) the vibrator feels. And whether it delivers strong vibrations while remaining reasonably rumbly. Higher scores indicate a “more rumbly” (lower-frequency) bullet or mini vibrator, since the majority of people prefer rumbliness. But ultimately vibration frequency is a personal preference.

When does it matter:

If you prefer vibrations in a specific area along the rumbly-to-buzzy spectrum. Rumbly vibrations spread out more and you feel them deeper. Whereas you feel buzzy vibrations nearer to the surface and more concentrated around the point of contact. Both can feel good, and which you enjoy more is a personal preference.

What is it:

What part of the frequency spectrum the vibrator’s power levels are centered around. It’s the vibration frequency of the middle power level (the average of the two middle levels if there is an even number of settings).

When does it matter:

If you prefer vibrations in a particular part of the rumbly-to-buzzy spectrum. This provides a quick way to see whether one vibrator’s settings are generally more rumbly or buzzy than another vibrator’s. Since most people prefer rumbly toys, we give higher scores to lower-frequency (more rumbly) vibrators. But ultimately, it’s a personal preference.

(Moderately Buzzy)

Rumbliness & Power Balance:

5.2

What is it:

A measure that rewards bullet and mini vibrators that remain rumbly (low-frequency) while packing good vibration strength. In other words, a bullet vibrator that is strong, but buzzy will perform poorly in this metric. Likewise, a bullet vibrator that is rumbly, but weak will also perform poorly. Only bullet and mini vibrators with strong, rumbly vibrations will have a high rating here. Calculated using the average normalized power / normalized frequency of the vibrator’s settings, with a derating factor applied to buzzy settings.

When does it matter:

If you want a bullet or mini vibrator with a good balance of power and rumbliness.

Show All Scores (Click to See):

We rate rumbly vibrations higher than buzzy ones because it’s what most people prefer.

The Lelo Mia 2 has average rumbliness. The low powers are in the rumbly range, but the higher strengths are in the neutral range. Since it has low overall strength, those neutral-feeling higher powers are the ones you’ll likely use most often.

Lelo Mia 2 and Rumblier We-Vibe Tango X
The We-Vibe Tango X (right), a more rumbly alternative to the Lelo Mia 2 (left)

Personal preferences on vibration frequency vary, and I actually really enjoy the Lelo Mia’s neutral vibrations. But if you want the most rumbly option you can find, the We-Vibe Tango X is a great alternative in the same price range.

Stimulation Precision

Stimulation Precision

What is it:

How focused or broad the stimulation feels compared to other mini and bullet vibrators.

When does it matter:

If you prefer stimulation focused in a small, precise area or enjoy it spread out over more of your vulva. It’s a personal preference.

Lelo Mia 2 Typical Tip Width Photo

Precision:

Medium

Head or Tip Width:

0.80 inches

What is it:

The width of the vibrator’s head or tip measured at the part of the vibrator in contact with my body during normal use. For most bullet vibrators, it’s the width of the toy right before it begins to taper. For uniquely-shaped mini vibrators it’s a subjective location I determine based on my experience using the vibrator.

When does it matter:

If you enjoy broader stimulation you’ll will want a greater tip width. If you prefer precise stimulation, you’ll want a narrower tip width.

Tip Shape:

Rounded

What is it:

The shape of the bullet or mini vibrator’s tip.

When it matters:

The tip’s shape affects how broad or precise the stimulation feels. And it affects how much you can vary the stimulation. Lipstick-shaped and tapered vibrators provide very focused stimulation when using the tip or moderate precision when using the side of the toy. Rounded heads stay in that moderate range of precision. And others can be broader.

The Lelo Mia 2 provides a medium amount of precision (purely a personal preference) compared to other bullet and mini vibrators – a hybrid between broad and focused. It has a relatively narrow, rounded tip that provides fairly focused stimulation. But the tip does not come to a fine point like many tapered or lipstick-shaped bullets that provide very precise stimulation.

Bullet Vibrator Tip Precision Levels
Varying levels of precision in bullet vibrators

Likewise, some mini vibrators like the We-Vibe Touch X provide broader stimulation that blankets more of your vulva. But still, you can get somewhat broad stimulation from the Mia 2 by angling it and pressing the side of the bullet against you rather than the tip.

The Lelo Mia 2 (left) is longer than many of my bullets, especially these two

The Mia has separate buttons to increase and decrease vibration power. This is helpful over the one-button system many bullet vibrators use that requires you to cycle through levels. The buttons take firmer pressure than some, but this means you don’t accidentally adjust the power when you don’t mean to.

Firm Tip of Lelo Mia 2 Compared to Plush Dame Pom
The Lelo Mia 2 (left) has a very firm tip compared to other mini vibrators like the Dame Pom (right)

It’s made of very firm plastic, which can bump around a bit in missionary or other positions where your partner may occasionally press the toy against you. It’s small enough that it does not cause discomfort, but if you’d prefer something more plush, the Dame Pom is very squishy and flexible. But I think most people will not be bothered by the firmness of the Mia’s tip.

What is it:

When does it matter:

Cleaning

Cleaning Rating

10.0

What is it:

How easy the bullet or mini vibrator is to clean. Vibrators with an IPX6 (water-resistant) or IPX7 (waterproof) rating are super easy to clean under a running sink. For vibrators without a waterproof rating, I subjectively rate how difficult it is to clean.

When does it matter:

If you’re worried about damaging your toy with water. Or if you won’t use your vibrator as much if cleaning is tedious.

Show All Scores (Click to See):

Lelo Mia 2 Waterproof Rating Demonstration

Waterproof Rating:

IPX7

What is it:

The bullet or mini vibrator’s waterproof rating – IPX7, IPX6, or No Rating

When does it matter:

When you plan to use your vibrator in the shower, bath, or want simpler cleaning.

  • IPX7 (Submersible): Vibrators with this rating are “waterproof.” You can submerge them in water up to a meter deep for up to 30 minutes. So you can use them in the bath and cleaning is easy.
  • IPX6 (Water Resistant): Vibrators with this rating can resist high-pressure, heavy sprays of water, but should not be fully submerged. This means you can use them in the shower (but not submerged in a bath). You can also clean them under a sink faucet without worry.
  • No Rating: These vibrators do not have a waterproof rating. You should not use them in the shower, and you must be careful to keep water away from electronic components when cleaning them.

The Lelo Mia 2 is completely IPX7 waterproof, which makes it very easy to clean. You can completely submerge it in water while you’re scrubbing with soap and water – absolutely no worries.

General Design and Specs

Size and Weight

Lelo Mia 2 Vibrator Length Measurement with Calipers Photo

Length:

4.4 inches

What is it:

How long the bullet or mini vibrator is, measured from the base to the tip.

When does it matter:

In general, longer mini and bullet vibrators are easier to hold, maneuver, and leverage. These types of vibrators are smaller than most, so some additional length can provide a more comfortable grip.

Lelo Mia 2 Typical Tip Width Photo

Head or Tip Width:

0.80 inches

What is it:

The width of the vibrator’s head or tip measured at the part of the vibrator in contact with my body during normal use. For most bullet vibrators, it’s the width of the toy right before it begins to taper. For uniquely-shaped mini vibrators it’s a subjective location I determine based on my experience using the vibrator.

When does it matter:

If you enjoy broader stimulation you’ll will want a greater tip width. If you prefer precise stimulation, you’ll want a narrower tip width.

Lelo Mia 2 Weight Measured on a Scale Photo

Weight:

1.0 ounces

What is it:

How heavy the bullet vibrator or mini vibrator is, measured with a digital scale.

When does it matter:

The weight of a bullet or mini vibrator is not that important, because they’re all relatively light (around 0.6 to 5.0 ounces). They’re not heavy like wand vibrators which can weigh up to 25 ounces and can be difficult to maneuver. A slightly heavier bullet or mini vibrator can feel sturdier, more durable, and higher quality.

Design Features

Lelo Mia 2 Vibrator Shape Photo

Vibrator Shape:

Straight

What is it:

The general shape of the mini or bullet vibrator.

When it matters:

Most bullet vibrators have a basic, straight design. Angled bullet vibrators can be easier to leverage and apply pressure. An angled shape can also help a bullet vibrator fit more easily between bodies during sex. We use the word “palm” to refer to mini vibrators designed to fit in the palm of your hand. Palm vibrators generally provide broader stimulation than bullet vibrators.

Lelo Mia 2 Tip Shape Photo

Head or Tip Shape:

Rounded

Head or Tip Firmness

Firm

What is it:

Whether the vibrator’s tip is firm or plush.

Lelo Mia 2 Rigidity and Flexibility Photo

Flexibility:

Rigid

What is it:

How flexible or rigid the mini or bullet vibrator is.

When does it matter:

It’s generally a personal preference. A slightly flexible vibrator can be more comfortable to use, especially if the vibrator is very firm. However, too much flexibility makes it harder to apply substantial pressure since the vibrator’s tip can flex away.

Materials:

ABS Plastic

What is it:

The material of the mini or bullet vibrator’s body and handle.

When it matters:

Only non-porous materials (including ABS plastic, silicone, some metals, and some other materials) are body-safe since they can be fully sanitized. Every bullet and mini vibrator we review is made using body-safe materials. The choice between different safe materials is a personal preference. Some people enjoy how smooth ABS Plastic feels. Others find silicone feels higher-quality to them. Or the additional weight and shine of a metal vibrator can make it feel luxurious.

Review Results

The Lelo Mia 2 is one of the pricier bullets out there. Because its entire vibration range is gentle, I think most people will prefer a stronger bullet vibrator. And in this price range, you can find plenty of options with more power – if that sounds like you, see our alternatives below.

Lelo Mia 2 with Box

On the other hand, some people prefer or need soft stimulation. If intense vibrations are overwhelming to you, I think the Lelo Mia 2 can be an excellent choice since it performs well in all aspects except power. But it offers a ton of power levels in the gentle range! The design makes it comfortable and easy to use solo or during sex. It’s very quiet and lasts an hour and a half on high power.

We-Vibe Touch X

Lelo Mia 2 and We-Vibe Touch X

The We-Vibe Touch X is a more powerful mini vibrator than the Mia 2, but it still offers several gentle levels too. It has about the same frequency range as the Mia 2 – rumbly on low power and neutral on high. The Touch X provides broader stimulation than the narrower Lelo Mia, so keep your own preferences about focused or broad stimulation in mind. The Touch X is one of my personal favorites. They’re in the same price range, but the Touch X’s sleek silicone construction feels more luxurious than the Mia 2’s plastic construction.

We-Vibe Tango X

Lelo Mia 2 and We-Vibe Tango X

The We-Vibe Tango X is a better option than the Lelo Mia 2 for those who want a greater power range and prefer extremely rumbly vibrations. It’s the most rumbly bullet vibrator I own. It’s also cheaper than the Mia 2, with an excellent power range from gentle to intense. The Tango X’s buttons are easier to press than the Mia 2’s. The Tango X is lip-stick shaped which provides more focused stimulation than the Lelo Mia. Some people will prefer the more focused stimulation, and others will prefer the Mia’s mid-level precision.

Lelo Mia 2 and Lovense Ambi

The Lovense Ambi is a great option if you want very gradual power increments in the low-intensity range like the Mia 2, but also want stronger levels. In the Lovense app, you can control the Ambi with a slider allowing you to access very gradual power increments.

You have rumbly, neutral, and buzzy vibration levels available with the Ambi. And I find it very comfortable and easy to leverage. Not to mention it’s less expensive than the Mia!
