Our Verdict

The FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet is one of my favorites. It’s an excellent mid-budget option for those who enjoy buzzy vibrations with medium to immense power. While still moderately strong, its first setting is comfortable as a warmup. And the FemmeFunn Ultra is one of just a few bullet vibrators I’ve tested that reach a strength I consider “extreme” on high.

The Ultra Bullet’s flexible core makes it especially comfortable solo and keeps it easily in contact with my clit during partnered sex. The rounded tip comfortably spreads out the firm pressure I enjoy applying. And while I don’t love one-button control systems to cycle through intensity levels, the FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet is more user-friendly than other single-button bullets. When you turn the bullet on, it conveniently remembers your previous setting. Or a single click of the button will return you to the lowest setting for a warmup.

The only people I don’t recommend the FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet to are those who prefer mostly rumbly vibrations and those who are easily overstimulated. If this is you, you may consider the We-Vibe Tango X, which has rumbly vibrations and provides softer warmup settings. If you enjoy some buzziness and intensity, the Ultra Bullet is excellent.

Pros

  • Extreme vibration strength on high power, which is great for people who crave intensity
  • Its lowest level is a comfortable mid-intensity setting that's enjoyable as a warmup or primary use, as long as you don’t need very gentle power levels
  • Comfortable and easy to use during solo and partnered play
  • Long battery life of 85 minutes on high-power

Cons

  • No very gentle power levels for those who prefer very soft stimulation
  • There is a large jump between power level 1 and 2, which could be too big for some
  • Only the lowest power level is rumbly

Table of Contents

FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet with other bullet and mini vibrators in background

The FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet is a mid-budget bullet vibrator. It’s the same design as the upgraded FemmeFunn Booster Bullet – simply without the additional Boost button. It’s made of body-safe silicone and is completely waterproof. It has 3 power levels and 17 vibration patterns (though many are similar). And it has a memory feature so that when you turn it on, it picks back up at your most recently used mode.

Compare Bullet & Mini Vibrators

You can filter this table by products’ performance and price using our comparison table tool here.

The FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet is an excellent mid-budget bullet. It’s stronger than most bullets in its price range. And its rounded tip, flexible core, and 4.3-inch length make it very comfortable solo or during sex.

The FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet is designed for people who prefer strong, buzzy vibrations. If you prefer rumbly vibrations, you should consider the Pillow Talk Racy in this price range or the pricier We-Vibe Tango X for exceptional rumbliness. The Racy and Tango X also offer milder warmup levels than the FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet, but they don’t get quite as intense on high.

Vibrations: Power And Range

Power Range Rating:

7.5

What is it:

How wide the range is between the highest and lowest power levels, and whether it has enough power levels that steps between settings are comfortable.

When does it matter:

A broad power range with many intensity levels is always more versatile. You can warm up with softer levels when your body isn’t ready for intense vibrations. But when you want more strength, you can turn it up high. A broad power range is also more likely to include settings at your ideal strength.

Power vs Frequency Graph:

What is it:

A graph of each bullet and mini vibrator’s power vs frequency across all of its power levels.

When does it matter:

If you want a detailed look at the vibrator’s full power and frequency characteristics. This tells you how strong and how rumbly each setting feels. You can also compare two vibrators on the same graph using our graph comparison tool here.

How Strong Is Each Power? (Click to Expand Definitions)

  • Power < 2.7: Too weak for me to orgasm, but great while warming up.
  • Power between 2.7 and 6.0: Strong enough for me to orgasm, but takes some effort. Good while warming up.
  • Power between 6.0 and 9.0: I orgasm effortlessly and reliably. These are the settings I typically finish with.
  • Power ≥ 9.0: Extreme power. Way more than I need to orgasm – I rarely use these.

The FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet is one of the most powerful bullet vibrators I’ve tested. It has a good range for those who prefer mid-strength to extreme vibration power.

The lowest level starts at a 4.5 out of 10 vibration strength. This power is effective yet gentle enough that it doesn’t feel overstimulating. It’s a versatile mid-strength setting I can comfortably enjoy as a warmup. Or I can make it feel more intense by adjusting my pressure. Many high-powered bullet vibrators like this do not have a soft enough starting level, so I appreciate this about the FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet.

If you need especially gentle warmup levels, consider the BMS Swan Maximum or Pillow Talk Racy. But most people will find the Ultra Bullet’s starting level comfortable.

FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet with BMS Swan Maximum Bullet and Pillow Talk Racy
The BMS Swan Maximum (middle) and Pillow Talk Racy (right) have gentler warmup levels and more gradual steps than the FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet (left)

The second power level hits an 8 out of 10 vibration strength, which is quite a jump – nearly twice as strong. But after I spend some time warming up on that first power level, I’m ready for the intense second setting.

The FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet’s final intensity level reaches 9 out of 10 vibration strength, which I consider extreme. Only a couple bullets, like the BMS Swan Maximum, reach a more intense strength, but few people will want more power. I rarely even use the FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet’s top setting (I typically finish on the second level), but power queens will love it.

Vibrations: Frequency (Rumbliness)

Rumbliness Rating:

6.1

What is it:

How “rumbly” (low frequency) or “buzzy” (high frequency) the vibrator feels. And whether it delivers strong vibrations while remaining reasonably rumbly. Higher scores indicate a “more rumbly” (lower-frequency) bullet or mini vibrator, since the majority of people prefer rumbliness. But ultimately vibration frequency is a personal preference.

When does it matter:

If you prefer vibrations in a specific area along the rumbly-to-buzzy spectrum. Rumbly vibrations spread out more and you feel them deeper. Whereas you feel buzzy vibrations nearer to the surface and more concentrated around the point of contact. Both can feel good, and which you enjoy more is a personal preference.

What is it:

What part of the frequency spectrum the vibrator’s power levels are centered around. It’s the vibration frequency of the middle power level (the average of the two middle levels if there is an even number of settings).

When does it matter:

If you prefer vibrations in a particular part of the rumbly-to-buzzy spectrum. This provides a quick way to see whether one vibrator’s settings are generally more rumbly or buzzy than another vibrator’s. Since most people prefer rumbly toys, we give higher scores to lower-frequency (more rumbly) vibrators. But ultimately, it’s a personal preference.

Rumbliness & Power Balance:

6.8

What is it:

A measure that rewards bullet and mini vibrators that remain rumbly (low-frequency) while packing good vibration strength. In other words, a bullet vibrator that is strong, but buzzy will perform poorly in this metric. Likewise, a bullet vibrator that is rumbly, but weak will also perform poorly. Only bullet and mini vibrators with strong, rumbly vibrations will have a high rating here. Calculated using the average normalized power / normalized frequency of the vibrator’s settings, with a derating factor applied to buzzy settings.

When does it matter:

If you want a bullet or mini vibrator with a good balance of power and rumbliness.

Show All Scores (Click to See):

We rate vibrations that are rumbly higher than those that are buzzy because it’s what most people prefer. However, others prefer buzzy vibrations, so consider what you enjoy!

The FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet only has passable rumbliness because just the first power setting is in the rumbly range. The two higher powers are buzzy. I personally enjoy moderately buzzy vibrations – especially in a bullet vibrator. So I love the FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet. It’s all based on your personal preference.

Powerful, buzzy vibrations tend to feel especially intense. So, if you’re unsure whether you prefer rumbly or buzzy but know that you like intensity, this could be the perfect choice!

The FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet (left) with rumblier alternatives: the We-Vibe Tango X (middle) and original We-Vibe Tango (right)

If you enjoy rumbly vibrations more, you’ll prefer the We-Vibe Tango X, though it is a bit more expensive. If the cheaper original We-Vibe Tango is available, snatch that up because it’s no longer in production but is the most affordable bullet with powerful, rumbly vibrations.

Stimulation Precision

Stimulation Precision

What is it:

How focused or broad the stimulation feels compared to other mini and bullet vibrators.

When does it matter:

If you prefer stimulation focused in a small, precise area or enjoy it spread out over more of your vulva. It’s a personal preference.

FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet Typical Tip Width Photo

Precision:

Medium

Head or Tip Width:

0.94 inches

What is it:

The width of the vibrator’s head or tip measured at the part of the vibrator in contact with my body during normal use. For most bullet vibrators, it’s the width of the toy right before it begins to taper. For uniquely-shaped mini vibrators it’s a subjective location I determine based on my experience using the vibrator.

When does it matter:

If you enjoy broader stimulation you’ll will want a greater tip width. If you prefer precise stimulation, you’ll want a narrower tip width.

Tip Shape:

Rounded

What is it:

The shape of the bullet or mini vibrator’s tip.

When it matters:

The tip’s shape affects how broad or precise the stimulation feels. And it affects how much you can vary the stimulation. Lipstick-shaped and tapered vibrators provide very focused stimulation when using the tip or moderate precision when using the side of the toy. Rounded heads stay in that moderate range of precision. And others can be broader.

Whether you enjoy pinpoint or broad stimulation is entirely a personal preference.

The FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet is between broad and focused stimulation. Its tip is nearly an inch wide, which is broader than most bullets with lipstick-shaped or tapered tips (like the We-Vibe Tango X or Nasstoys Intense Travel Vibe Mini). However, it’s more focused than palm vibrators like the We-Vibe Touch X or Dame Pom.

Bullet Vibrator Tip Precision Levels
Examples of different bullets’ tip precision

The FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet also has a rounded tip, making it feel slightly broader than a typical bullet. This is useful and comfortable if you prefer firm pressure because it’s less pokey than pointed tips. You can also use the side of the bullet to disperse the vibrations a bit.

Show All Scores (Click to See):

The FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet is very comfortable and fairly easy to adjust the settings. The flexible core makes the pressure against your body feel plush despite its firm tip. And even though the form is not rigid, it’s easy to slide a finger near the tip to apply more pressure.

Using Fingers for Firm Pressure with Bendy FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet
Since the FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet has a flexible core, use your fingers near the tip for extra firm pressure

If you use your fingers near the motor, the vibrations travel into your fingers, but it’s not distracting unless you’re particularly sensitive to this. The Ultra Bullet’s comfortable width and above-average length make it easy to grip and maneuver wherever you want.

The FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet uses one button to cycle through the 3 intensity levels and all 17 vibration patterns. I prefer toys with separate controls to move forward and backward through settings. But the Ultra Bullet’s one-button system is much more user-friendly than most one-button bullet vibrators. Here’s why:

The FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet has a memory system. This means if you turn the toy off after using a pulsing pattern, it will start again on that pulsing pattern when you turn it back on. That way, you don’t have to tap the button 10+ times to return to your favorite setting.

FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet Control Button
The one-button control system on the FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet

But it also makes it easy to return to the softest steady vibration. After turning the toy on and automatically returning to the most recently used setting, the next button click will bring you back to the lowest power level.

This makes it easy to return to my warmup intensity when necessary. Then, I can work my way back up. So it’s set up with the natural rhythm your body wants to take and saves you from another slew of taps to get back around to the start again.

Multiple Buttons on We-Vibe Tango X
A multi-button control system like this one on the We-Vibe Tango X helps you find the setting you want more easily

It’s still not as convenient as bullets with separate buttons to change power and move through patterns, like the We-Vibe Tango X. But the FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet’s unique system makes it much better than other one-button cycling bullets I’ve tried.

On its highest setting, my partner thought he could barely hear it. But this was his note: “I had to listen very closely and wait for any sounds outside to become extremely quiet. Even then, I could just barely make it out occasionally. I doubt anyone would actually hear it in normal use.”

FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet With Fan
The FemmeFunn Ultra has great noise levels for it’s extremely powerful vibrations, but you can use a box fan to cover the sound for extra reassurance

Considering it’s one of the most powerful bullet vibrators I’ve tested, the Ultra Bullet’s noise performance is pretty good. And to be safe, you can turn on a box fan or play music in the bedroom to ensure no one will hear it.

I’m also pretty sensitive to noise, and the Ultra Bullet’s sound doesn’t bother me at all. So, it’s a safe option if you’re distracted by sound.

When does it matter:

When you plan to use your vibrator in the shower, bath, or want simpler cleaning.

  • IPX7 (Submersible): Vibrators with this rating are “waterproof.” You can submerge them in water up to a meter deep for up to 30 minutes. So you can use them in the bath and cleaning is easy.
  • IPX6 (Water Resistant): Vibrators with this rating can resist high-pressure, heavy sprays of water, but should not be fully submerged. This means you can use them in the shower (but not submerged in a bath). You can also clean them under a sink faucet without worry.
  • No Rating: These vibrators do not have a waterproof rating. You should not use them in the shower, and you must be careful to keep water away from electronic components when cleaning them.

This FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet is IPX7 waterproof. This means you can completely submerge it, making it easy to clean. Just wash in the sink with soap and warm water.

Size and Weight

FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet Vibrator Length Measurement with Calipers Photo

Length:

4.3 inches

What is it:

How long the bullet or mini vibrator is, measured from the base to the tip.

When does it matter:

In general, longer mini and bullet vibrators are easier to hold, maneuver, and leverage. These types of vibrators are smaller than most, so some additional length can provide a more comfortable grip.

FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet Typical Tip Width Photo

Head or Tip Width:

0.94 inches

When does it matter:

If you enjoy broader stimulation you’ll will want a greater tip width. If you prefer precise stimulation, you’ll want a narrower tip width.

FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet Weight Measured on a Scale Photo

Weight:

2.3 ounces

What is it:

How heavy the bullet vibrator or mini vibrator is, measured with a digital scale.

When does it matter:

The weight of a bullet or mini vibrator is not that important, because they’re all relatively light (around 0.6 to 5.0 ounces). They’re not heavy like wand vibrators which can weigh up to 25 ounces and can be difficult to maneuver. A slightly heavier bullet or mini vibrator can feel sturdier, more durable, and higher quality.

Design Features

FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet Vibrator Shape Photo

Vibrator Shape:

Straight

What is it:

The general shape of the mini or bullet vibrator.

When it matters:

Most bullet vibrators have a basic, straight design. Angled bullet vibrators can be easier to leverage and apply pressure. An angled shape can also help a bullet vibrator fit more easily between bodies during sex. We use the word “palm” to refer to mini vibrators designed to fit in the palm of your hand. Palm vibrators generally provide broader stimulation than bullet vibrators.

FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet Tip Shape Photo

Head or Tip Shape:

Rounded

Head or Tip Firmness

Firm

What is it:

Whether the vibrator’s tip is firm or plush.

FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet Rigidity and Flexibility Photo

Flexibility:

Moderately Flexible

What is it:

How flexible or rigid the mini or bullet vibrator is.

When does it matter:

It’s generally a personal preference. A slightly flexible vibrator can be more comfortable to use, especially if the vibrator is very firm. However, too much flexibility makes it harder to apply substantial pressure since the vibrator’s tip can flex away.

Materials:

Silicone

What is it:

The material of the mini or bullet vibrator’s body and handle.

When it matters:

Only non-porous materials (including ABS plastic, silicone, some metals, and some other materials) are body-safe since they can be fully sanitized. Every bullet and mini vibrator we review is made using body-safe materials. The choice between different safe materials is a personal preference. Some people enjoy how smooth ABS Plastic feels. Others find silicone feels higher-quality to them. Or the additional weight and shine of a metal vibrator can make it feel luxurious.

The FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet is an excellent option if you like buzzy, powerful vibrations. Even though it begins with mid-strength vibrations, its lowest setting still provides an excellent warmup for me. And it’s one of the most powerful bullets on its top setting.

FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet on Table with Box

If you need several gentle settings for your warmup or want something rumbly, consider my recommended alternatives below. But the FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet is one of my favorites and is affordable.

Compare Alternatives

BMS Swan Maximum Bullet

The BMS Swan Maximum Bullet is an alternative to the FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet if you need milder warmup levels and want an even more intense top setting, but you’ll trade off some comfort.

FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet and BMS Swan Maximum Bullet

The BMS Swan Maximum begins with a very gentle starting level in contrast to the Ultra Bullet, which begins with some strength (though most people will find it comfortable). It also climbs in tiny increments through its power range to its top setting, which has about 1.2x the power of the Ultra Bullet. So if you value a more comprehensive power range, it’s a good choice in the same price range.

On the other hand, I enjoy the FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet more. I don’t need (or want) any more extreme strength, and I find the Ultra Bullet’s starting level provides a good warmup for me. Most importantly, I find the Ultra Bullet is more comfortable. The Swan Maximum vibrates my hand quite a bit, and its shorter length makes it more difficult to grip and maneuver than the FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet.

The choice comes down to whether you value a wider power range or a more comfortable experience.

You will need to control it in the app to access the entire power range though. Simply using the Ambi’s buttons provides 3 settings, just like the Ultra Bullet.

FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet and Lovense Ambi

It starts more gently at 1.5 out of 10 vibration strength compared to the Ultra Bullet’s 4.5. This might be attractive if you’re worried about overstimulation or have trouble finding a comfortable power level. However, the FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet maxes out with more power (9.0) than the Ambi (8.0). The Ambi’s is similarly (though slightly less) buzzy than the Ultra Bullet. So, it’s a good option for people who prefer buzzy vibrations.

We-Vibe Tango X

The We-Vibe Tango X is better than the FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet for those who need deep, rumbly vibrations. The Tango X is the most rumbly bullet vibrator I’ve tested, whereas the Ultra Bullet’s vibrations are buzzy. The more rumbly motor comes at a slightly increased cost.

It also has 8 intensity levels compared to the Ultra Bullet’s 3. They begin much more gently too, so it’s a better option for people who need soft stimulation and gradual steps between levels. The FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet has about 16% more power than the Tango X, but each is strong enough for me personally.

The Tango X’s controls are also more convenient. You can increase power, decrease power, and change vibration patterns, each with a separate button.

The Tango X also has a slimmer tip for more pinpoint stimulation, whereas the FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet’s rounded tip provides broader stimulation. Which is better is entirely a personal preference.

FemmeFunn Booster Bullet

The FemmeFunn Booster Bullet is an upgraded version of the FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet that costs around $20 more. The two bullets are nearly identical, but the Booster has a couple advantages over the Ultra Bullet.

FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet and FemmeFunn Booster Bullet

The Booster Bullet has an additional “Boost” button that jumps you directly to the highest power level for 10 seconds. The FemmeFunn Booster Bullet also has about 5% more power than the Ultra Bullet, but most people won’t notice a difference. If you’d rather spend for the slight upgrade, it’s a great bullet. Otherwise, you can save $20 and go with the Ultra Bullet for a nearly identical experience.
