Vibrations: Power And Range

Max Power Rating 6.6 10.0
Power Range Rating 7.3 9.3
Power vs Frequency Graph
How Strong Is Each Power?

The Satisfyer Ultra Power Bullet 8 is low to mid-powered. It’s a very budget-friendly option if you don’t need anything stronger than a 5 out of 10 vibration power. This bullet is powerful enough for me to orgasm, but it takes some time.

Its 5 intensity levels begin softly with 1.25 out of 10 vibration strength. So, it provides several gradual power increments to enjoy in the mild range. This will satisfy people who prefer soft vibrations but not those seeking strength.

If you enjoy more intense vibrations, I recommend spending a few extra dollars and upgrading to the Pillow Talk Racy. This bullet starts at 2 out of 10 on low and reaches 7.75 out of 10 on high, with lots of gradual steps between. So you still have plenty of gentle levels as a warmup but can finish with more intense stimulation. Or at the same price, the BMS Swan Maximum Bullet has an even better power range, but it’s somewhat uncomfortable to grip so I prefer the Racy.

The Satisfyer Ultra Power Bullet 8 (left) with stronger alternatives, left to right, the Pillow Talk Racy, BMS Swan Maximum Bullet, and Lovense Ambi

If you want more intense stimulation with app-control, you’ll need to upgrade to the Lovense Ambi.

The BMS Swan Maximum Bullet has the strongest top power of all my bullet vibrators, reaching an 11 out of 10 strength. You read that right—an 11. The Swan Maximum was released after my first round of bullet vibrator testing, but it beat out my previous most powerful bullets, the Blush Limited Addiction and Doxy Bullet, which I had rated 10!

BMS Swan Maximum Bullet with Other Strong Bullets Blush Limited Addiction and Doxy Bullet
The BMS Swan Maximum Bullet (top) is even stronger than the Blush Limited Addiction (left) and Doxy Bullet (right)

The BMS Swan Maximum’s 11/10 power is stronger than I could ever need. In fact, without the silicone grip that comes with the bullet, its top setting is too strong to hold in my hand!

Gripping BMS Swan Maximum Bullet With Comfy Cuff
I need to use the silicone grip to hold the BMS Swan Maximum Bullet on high power, otherwise it’s too much for my hand

Thankfully, it also has the widest power range of my bullets (another benefit over the Blush Limited Addiction and Doxy Bullet), starting at just a 2.5 out of 10 vibration strength. So, it has plenty of milder settings if you prefer gentle to moderate stimulation.

BMS Swan Maximum Bullet Buttons
The control buttons allow tapping back and forth on power or a press-and-hold method for micro-adjustments

The press-and-hold buttons also let you gradually increase and decrease intensity in tiny steps. With such a comprehensive power range, most people will find some intensity levels they enjoy.

Vibrations: Frequency (Rumbliness)

Rumbliness Rating 5.0 6.1
Power vs Frequency Graph
Frequency on Low Power 65 Hz 61 Hz
Median Frequency 104 Hz 91 Hz
Frequency on High Power 128 Hz 114 Hz
Rumbliness & Power Balance 4.8 6.3

We rate rumbly (low-frequency) vibrations higher than buzzy ones because most people prefer rumbliness. So, if you prefer buzzy vibrations, simply disregard our scoring in this area and choose based on what you enjoy!

The Satisfyer Ultra Power Bullet 8 is a buzzy vibrator.

Only the lowest level is rumbly. And since it’s the weakest setting, most people will only use it briefly while warming up. The top 3 settings where you’ll likely spend most of your time are buzzy. If you love buzzy vibrations, this may be a great fit! Though I enjoy the Satisfyer Ultra Power Bullet 5 (not app-controlled) more because it’s a bit stronger overall, and I like a bit more kick behind my buzzy vibrations.

Satisfyer Ultra Power Bullet 8 with Rumblier Pillow Talk Racy and We-Vibe Tango X
The Satisfyer Bullet 8 (left) with rumblier alternatives, the Pillow Talk Racy (middle) and We-Vibe Tango X (right)

If you’re like most people and prefer rumbly vibes, you’ll have to increase your budget slightly. The Pillow Talk Racy is the most affordable rumbly bullet vibrator. Or if money’s no object, the We-Vibe Tango X is my most rumbly bullet.

The BMS Swan Maximum’s vibrations are primarily buzzy. The lowest power levels are moderately rumbly, which is a nice, gentle intro. But by the time you reach settings with moderate strength, the vibrations feel neutral. And they quickly become buzzy as you increase the intensity higher.

Whether this is good or bad depends on your preferences. Some people prefer buzzy vibrations, whereas others want rumbly (low-frequency) vibes.

Since I prefer moderate intensity, I only need to use the first half of the Swan Maximum’s power levels – so I typically use those rumbly and neutral vibes. But if you’re interested in those extremely intense top settings, you have to love buzzy vibrations.

BMS Swan Maximum Bullet and We-Vibe Tango X
The We-Vibe Tango X (right) is my most rumbly bullet, but it doesn’t get as strong as the BMS Swan Maximum Bullet (left)

However, none of my rumbly bullet vibrators come close to the Swan Maximum’s vibration power. The We-Vibe Tango X is my strongest rumbly bullet, reaching a top strength of 7.75.

BMS Swan Maximum Bullet with the Lovense Domi 2 and BMS Swan Era Wand
The BMS Swan Maximum Bullet (left) with stronger, rumblier alternatives: the Lovense Domi 2 (middle) and BMS Swan Era Wand (right).

When it comes to bullet vibrators, you generally need to choose between more power or more rumbliness. If strong, rumbly vibrations are your priority, a wand vibrator like the Lovense Domi 2 or BMS Swan Era Wand is better. Because wand vibrators’ motors are heavier, they’re often both rumbly and strong.

Stimulation Precision

Stimulation Precision Medium -More precise when using the tip Precise

BMS Swan Maximum Bullet Typical Tip Width Photo
Head or Tip Width 0.95 inches 0.75 inches
Tip Shape Tapered Lipstick

The Satisfyer Bullet 8 has a cone-shaped tip that provides somewhat versatile precision. You can get extremely precise stimulation when using the tip’s point on your clit. Or get a more moderate amount of precision when pressing the angled section to your body.

I use the angled method since I prefer indirect stimulation. But its unique shape allows you to vary the surface area in contact with your body to meet your preferences.

Whether you prefer broad or focused stimulation is up to your personal preference.

The BMS Swan Maximum Bullet provides a versatile experience because you can use the thin lipstick tip (just 0.75 inches wide) for very precise contact. But you can also press the side of the bullet to your body to cover more area for those who prefer to spread the stimulation out more.

App Control: Close Range Features

Close-Range Features Rating 9.0 N/A

With Satisyfer’s affordable prices, I’m always impressed with their app’s excellent quality. Satisfyer’s app outperforms every more expensive brand except Lovense.

Lovense App Compared to Satisfyer App

The Satisfyer Connect app provides a wide variety of practical, in-depth, and intuitive ways to control your Satisfyer Ultra Power Bullet 8 from nearby using Bluetooth. Jump here for a discussion of its connectivity (which is also excellent).

If you like having complete control over your vibrations, use the “Live Control” mode. You can raise and lower the intensity by swiping up and down on-screen. This provides access to a continuous, gradual power range (instead of stepping through just 5 levels with the on-toy button). Or you can draw your exact vibration pattern. Select “Loop,” and the Satisfyer app will put your pattern on repeat.

If you love your in-the-moment creation, you can save it. The next time you use the Ultra Power Bullet 8, your pattern will be available under “Program Play.”

The Program Play screen also provides over 30 preset patterns to enjoy. Select any pattern and control its intensity with a swipe of your finger on-screen. And you can find even more patterns through the “Community” feature. This is where other users share patterns they’ve created, which you can use.

Ambient Sound with Satisfyer Ultra Power Bullet 8
Using the Ambient Sound feature with the Satisfyer Ultra Power Bullet 8

The “Ambient Sound” feature uses your phone’s mic to make the bullet buzz along with the noise around you. For wearable vibrators like the Satisfyer Sexy Secret and other vibrating panties, it’s a great setting to use in a clubbing environment. But for at-home play with a bullet, it could be a nice encouragement to get a little vocal!

You can adjust how strong the vibes respond to the sound around you by dragging up or down on the screen.

Music Vibes with Satisfyer Ultra Power Bullet 8
Using Music Vibes to control the Satisfyer Ultra Power Bullet 8

Or buzz along to your favorite songs through the “Music Vibes” feature. You can select from songs saved on your phone or connect to Spotify.

Remotyca Stories with Satisfyer Ultra Power Bullet 8

Satisfyer also has a “Remotyca Stories” library, which allows you to vibrate in sync with spicy stories, but the selection is limited.

High Touch Meditation in the Satisfyer App
The High Touch Meditation in the Satisfyer App

Lastly, in 2023, they added a “High Touch Meditation” feature. This feature provides relaxing audio meditation recordings guiding you slowly through using your vibrator, encouraging you to connect with your body and relax. Over the guided meditation, it plays soothing soundscapes like you’d hear at Yoga or while getting a message. The Satisfyer bullet will vibrate at the appropriate moments in the guided meditation.

The first series of meditations released guides you through using an air pulse toy like the Satisfyer Pro 2, so they don’t have a series specifically for the Satisfyer Ultra Power Bullet 8 yet. But the Power Bullet will still vibrate to the meditation – you can still follow along and simply ignore the parts that aren’t directly applicable to a bullet vibrator.

App Control: Long Distance Features

Long-Distance Features Rating 7.6 N/A

The Satisfyer Ultra Power Bullet 8 also lets you connect with a long-distance partner anywhere in the world. And Satisfyer’s long-distance experience is great, though less fully-featured than in nearby Bluetooth control.

You can video chat with your partner while they control your Power Bullet 8. When a long-distance partner controls your Satisfyer bullet, they can set your exact vibration power or create their own patterns. In long-distance mode, your partner doesn’t see the precise vibration pattern on-screen, as you do in nearby Bluetooth mode. So drawing an exact pattern is trickier in long-distance mode. But overall, it’s still an excellent level of control.

You can also turn off the video feed or mute the mic, if you’d rather a long-distance partner not see or hear you. This is useful if you want to connect with someone anonymously with just your username. You can also send texts or photo messages through the app – even adjusting how long someone can view your message.

Messaging Screen in Satisfyer App

If your long-distance partner also has a Satisfyer toy, you can simultaneously control each other’s toys. Either of you can end toy control or the call at any time.

With a bullet like the Satisfyer 8, it’s a great way to relinquish control of the vibrations to a partner while remaining in control of the pressure and placement you need to orgasm.

App Control: Connectivity

App Connectivity Rating 9.7 N/A
Bluetooth Connectivity Reliability 9.7 N/A
Long Distance Connectivity Reliability 10.0 N/A
Bluetooth Connectivity Range 10.0 N/A

The Satisfyer Ultra Power Bullet 8’s connectivity with the app is excellent.

Pairing your Satisfyer Bullet 8 with the app is quick and easy. It takes less than 20 seconds, and the app walks you through exactly what you need to do to connect the two. I rarely have any issues with this. But even if I do, the app gives detailed directions to get you back on track.

Satisfyer Pairing Instructions in App
Instructions are provided in the Satisyfer App when pairing

Once it’s paired, it typically stays paired. And even if it does disconnect (possibly due to separating the toy and phone or leaving the app untouched for too long), it takes minimal effort to get things re-paired. Often, it reconnects immediately on its own.

This is true whether I play solo or with a partner through the long-distance feature.

Comfort & Ease of Use

Comfort & Ease of Use Rating 8.3 7.2
Satisfyer Ultra Power Bullet 8 Comfort and Ease of Use Photo
BMS Swan Maximum Bullet Comfort and Ease of Use Photo
Grip Comfort 9.0 5.9
Controls 7.0 8.5
Easy Leverage & Pressure 9.5 7.0

The Satisfyer Ultra Power Bullet 8 is a comfortable bullet vibrator and easy to use. At 5.5 inches, it’s one of the longest bullet vibrators I’ve tested, making it especially easy to leverage and comfortable to grip. You can apply firm pressure with it, and vibrations in your hand are minimal.

The uniquely shaped tip may take some getting used to, but you can get great contact and stimulation from it.

Satisfyer Ultra Power Bullet 8 Unusual Button Placement
The button has unusual placement since it’s near the tip

The button placement is unusual – away from the handle, very near the tip. I have to adjust my grip to click the button when using the bullet. But the button presses easily, and it isn’t a hassle.

However, I wish it had separate buttons to increase and decrease power. Since it has just one button, you must cycle through all 5 power levels and 7 vibration patterns on a loop. Since there are so many settings, finding the one you want takes time. However, you can avoid this hassle by controlling the bullet through the Satisfyer app, which gives you quick, detailed control.

The BMS Swan Maximum Bullet is very easy to use, but it has some uncomfortable aspects.

It has great controls with two press-and-hold buttons that let you increase and decrease power continuously – there are no jumps between settings. Simply hold the increase or decrease power button, and the Swan Maximum will gradually change power. This control system makes finding the exact power level you need easy.

BMS Swan Maximum Bullet Buttons
Tap back and forth on power or press-and-hold to micro-adjust strength

Some other bullet vibrators, like the Pillow Talk Racy and Flirty, have a similar continuous system. But these bullets have just one button, so you can only increase power gradually. To decrease power, you have to turn them off and on again to start over. So, the BMS Swan Maximum’s second button is helpful.

Buttons of the BMS Swan Maximum with Pillow Talk Racy and Pillow Talk Flirty
The BMS Swan Maximum Bullet’s buttons (left) allow press-and-hold going up or down. The Pillow Talk Racy (middle) and Pillow Talk Flirty (right) only have one button for press-and-hold going up

I personally find the Swan Maximum’s buttons take firm pressure to hold down, which is tiring if you change power often. The Pillow Talk Racy’s button is easier to press. And if you don’t need super tiny power adjustments, ordinary clickable buttons like those of the Blush Limited Addiction are fine. But the Swan’s two press-and-hold buttons have their benefits in finding your ideal strength.

The BMS Swan is only adequately comfortable. The bullet is shorter than I prefer, and the base tapers inward, forcing you to grip it toward the middle of the bullet. This makes the usable length even shorter, causes my fingers to feel cramped in a tight space, and doesn’t provide as much leverage as longer bullets.

Tapered Base of the BMS Swan Maximum Bullet
The end tapers off, so it decreases the grippable area

The Swan Maximum’s vibrations travel into my hand, too. They’re comfortable at low to medium power levels, but they’re distracting at the top half of the settings. The silicone Comfy Cuff that comes with it is a must if you plan to use the higher powers—it helps dampen the vibrations in your fingers but doesn’t completely eliminate them.

Gripping BMS Swan Maximum Bullet With Comfy Cuff
If you plan to use the higher power levels, you must use the silicone grip or the vibrations in your hand are overwhelming

The Blush Limited Addiction is another extremely powerful bullet with less (but not zero) vibrations in your hand. With very powerful bullet vibrators, your fingers are close to the motor since bullets are tiny. So, if you’re particularly sensitive to vibrations in your fingers, try a mid-sized toy like the Lovense Hyphy or a small wand vibrator like the Lovense Domi 2.

Use During Sex

Use During Sex Rating 8.0 10.0
Satisfyer Ultra Power Bullet 8 Maneuverability in a Tight Space Photo
BMS Swan Maximum Bullet Maneuverability in a Tight Space Photo
Spooning 9.0 10.0
Missionary 7.0 10.0

The Satisfyer Bullet 8 works best in the spooning position or others where you’re not facing your partner. It’s easy to maneuver and has a small tip, which fits easily in tight spaces.

However, the unique cone-shaped tip makes it harder to use in missionary positions or others facing your partner. The dramatic taper limits the surface area that can contact your body without sharply angling the entire bullet. But angling it more is difficult without the handle beginning to interfere with our bodies.

Satisfyer Ultra Power Bullet 8 with Better Alternatives During Sex Including Pillow Talk Racy and Lovense Ambi and FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet
The Satisfyer Ultra Bullet 8 with some of my favorite alternatives to use during sex, the Pillow Talk Racy (left), Lovense Ambi (middle) and FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet (right)

It’s still doable, but I prefer the rounded ends of the Pillow Talk Racy, Lovense Ambi, or FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet in face-to-face positions.

The BMS Swan Maximum is excellent to use during sex. Its small size and tapered tip make it easy to fit into tight spaces. And since it can reach very high powers, it provides plenty of stimulation.

If you’re not using the silicone cuff to dampen the vibrations that travel into your hand, you can use it to attach the bullet to your fingers. That way, you can maneuver and press the bullet to your body without gripping it. While it’s not completely hands-free, like some couples vibrators, it’s minimal effort.

Different Ways to Use Comfy Cuff on BMS Swan Maximum Bullet
Two different ways to use the silicone band that comes with the BMS Swan Maximum

This can make it easier to hold during sex. Though, I can only tolerate using it this way on the low to medium levels (which have plenty of strength for me). If I use the Swan Maximum’s highest levels, I need to use the Comfy Cuff to dampen the vibrations instead.

Noise

Noise Rating 8.5 7.7
Audibility Behind Closed Door 10.0 8.0
Decibels on High Power 52.9 dB 49.5 dB
Decibels on Low Power 47.5 dB 43.4 dB
Low Power Inaudible Inaudible
Middle Power Inaudible Inaudible
High Power Inaudible Audible
High Power with Box Fan Inaudible Inaudible
High Power with Music Inaudible Inaudible

The Satisfyer Bullet 8 is completely inaudible from behind a closed door on all power levels. So it’s safe to use if you live with housemates.

The decibel level is technically a little louder than some, but I don’t find the sound distracting. However, if you’re especially sensitive to this, there are quieter options.

The Pillow Talk Racy is a budget-friendly, discreet bullet with quieter decibel levels.

The BMS Swan Maximum Bullet has good noise levels, considering its enormous power.

When I used it in the bedroom, my partner could only hear it on the highest settings from the other side of the bedroom door. We also found that he could only hear the Swan Maximum when the bullet accidentally brushed up against the comforter on my bed, which made a louder sound. When I kept the vibrator pressed to my body, he couldn’t hear it on the highest setting.

If you’re concerned about noise, stick to the medium power levels, which are still quite powerful. You can also turn on music or a fan to mask the noise.

Battery Life

Battery Life Rating 8.3 9.3
Satisfyer Ultra Power Bullet 8 Charging Cable Photo
BMS Swan Maximum Bullet Charging Cable Photo
Battery Life on High Power 105 Minutes 139 Minutes
Power Source Rechargeable Rechargeable
Charging Cable Magnetic Magnetic

The Satisfyer Ultra Power Bullet 8 has a great battery life. It lasted an hour and 45 minutes, continuously vibrating on high power during our testing. However, since it’s weaker than many bullet vibrators, the long battery life is not that impressive.

For instance, the We-Vibe Tango X has a comparable battery life while packing over 1.5 times the power.

The BMS Swan Maximum Bullet has an amazing battery life. After charging it fully, I ran it on its highest power until it died – 139 minutes later. It lasted longer than any of the other bullets I’ve tested so far.

This was especially surprising since extremely powerful vibrators often die faster (since they use more power). All the bullet and mini vibrators that come close to the Swan Maximum’s battery life are substantially weaker.

Build Quality

Build Quality Rating 7.5 7.5
Satisfyer Ultra Power Bullet 8 Build Quality Photo
BMS Swan Maximum Bullet Build Quality Photo

The Satisfyer Bullet 8 has a smooth silicone tip and plastic body. Everything seems well put together, but it’s a light toy, contributing to a slightly cheap feel.

I’ve had no issues with performance, but it won’t provide the more luxurious feel of pricier options like the We-Vibe Touch X or Lovense Ambi.

The BMS Swan Maximum Bullet has a good build quality but is not luxurious. The ABS Plastic has a nice, metallic look and feels well-made, but it shows scratches easily. It seems durable but feels lighter than I expected due to the metallic look. Bullet vibrators actually made of metal, like the Le Wand Grand Bullet, are heavier and feel more solid.

Comfy Cuff Next to BMS Swan Maximum Bullet
The silicone grip that comes with the BMS Swan Maximum Bullet

The silicone buttons have a nice feel, and the detachable silicone grip is very plush. I wish the grip was wider to cover more surface area since the vibrations travel easily into my fingers, but it still does the trick well enough.

Cleaning

The Satisfyer Ultra Power Bullet 8 is super easy to clean. It’s IPX7 waterproof, which means you can safely submerge it up to a meter deep for up to half an hour. So you can clean it easily with soap and water or bring it with you in the bath.

The BMS Swan Maximum Bullet is IPX7 waterproof, so it’s very easy to clean. You can fully submerge it while scrubbing or use it in the bathtub.
