Lovense Exomoon vs We-Vibe Tango X Side-By-Side Comparison
Performance Ratings
Our Verdict
The Lovense Exomoon is an app-controlled lipstick bullet vibrator that’s best if you want an exceptional app and prefer rumbly vibrations with mild-to-moderate strength.
The Exomoon is more rumbly than Lovense’s other vibrators, though it doesn’t pack as much intensity as some, including the Lovense Ambi bullet vibrator. Those who value the deep impact of rumbly vibrations will want the Exomoon. Those who care more about intensity will prefer the Lovense Ambi.
Lovense’s app is excellent – the best of any brand we’ve tried. Its features are helpful and intuitive. And the Exomoon maintains a steady, reliable connection with the Lovense app. The Exomoon is also quiet and visibly discreet with its realistic “lipstick” design.
The We-Vibe Tango X is a favorite bullet for good reason – it’s the most rumbly bullet I’ve tried. Its 8 deep intensity levels cover a broad power range, providing a gentle warmup, moderate middle levels, and an intense finish. The exceptional rumbliness and great power range make this an excellent choice for many people.
Its silicone grip is comfortable to hold, and its small size is easy to maneuver. I enjoy it both solo and during partnered sex. And it has better controls than other bullets. Unlike most bullets that make you cycle through intensity levels, the Tango X has 3 separate buttons to increase power, decrease power, and change vibration patterns – so you can quickly find the exact setting you want.
It can be loud when it’s not in contact with your body, but there are easy ways to mask this noise. The only people I don’t recommend the Tango X to are those who prefer buzzy vibrations or extreme intensity. For that, you might try the FemmeFunn Booster Bullet. If you’re looking for powerful vibrations with the greatest rumbliness of any bullet vibrator, the We-Vibe Tango X is the best option!

Vibrations: Power And Range
The Lovense Exomoon has a good power range with gentle-to-moderate strength but lacks intense upper levels.
When controlling the Exomoon in the Lovense app, the lowest power starts at just 1 out of 10 vibration strength. This gentle starting level is excellent for those who need a soft warmup. And you can work extremely gradually through 20 intensity levels to reach its max strength of 5.4 out of 10, so there are no giant, jarring leaps. Increments are very comfortable.
The top strength of 5.4 out of 10 is less intense than some, including Lovense’s other bullet vibrator, the Lovense Ambi (which reaches 8 out of 10). However, I still orgasm reliably with this moderate level of strength, and it will be enough for many people.
Those who prioritize rumbliness over high intensity will enjoy the Exomoon. If you prefer power over rumbliness, consider the Lovense Ambi.
When using the Exomoon’s button instead of the app, you’ll have access to 3 intensity levels. The first begins at about 25% power, the second at around 60%, and the third is 100% power. So the on-toy controls still provide a good power range when you don’t want to use the Lovense app.
The We-Vibe Tango X has an excellent power range that provides gentle, moderate, and strong power levels. It begins with 2.5 out of 10 vibration strength. The comfortable soft settings are great while warming up or for those overstimulated by intensity.
The upper power levels are strong, reaching a 7.75 out of 10 strength. I easily orgasm with the Tango X but typically use its top setting. There are some with more extreme power, like the FemmeFunn Booster Bullet or BMS Swan Maximum Bullet, for those who crave immense intensity. But I don’t personally need more strength than the Tango X provides.
The Tango X has improved on the original We-Vibe Tango in that it has 8 power levels instead of 4. So, the new model covers its power range more completely with many gradual steps between intensity levels. You can work up to its top power very slowly. Or if you’re easily overstimulated, you have many gentle or moderate power levels to enjoy.
Most people will enjoy the We-Vibe Tango X’s vibrations. Few bullets have as wide a range of power as this one.
Vibrations: Frequency (Rumbliness)
Most people prefer rumbly vibrators, so we rate them higher than buzzy ones. However, preferences vary, so consider what you enjoy!
The Lovense Exomoon has great rumbliness. It’s lower-frequency (more rumbly) than most bullet vibrators, including the Lovense Ambi. In fact, every power level lands in the rumbly range. The gentler settings are extremely rumbly, but even its highest power levels remain moderately rumbly.
I have not found a more rumbly app-controlled bullet vibrator than the Lovense Exomoon. It’s great for those who value rumbliness and don’t need exceptional intensity. If you want more power and don’t need app control, consider the extremely rumbly We-Vibe Tango X.
The We-Vibe Tango X is the most rumbly bullet vibrator I own. This is one of the main reasons to consider this bullet.
Its rumbliness is especially impressive considering the Tango X’s strength. Vibrators become buzzier as you increase power. But even its top setting (7.75 out of 10 power) measured at 58 Hz in our test results, which is extremely rumbly. No other bullet besides the Tango X and Tango had more than 5.0 vibration strength while remaining under 60 Hz (our threshold for the “extremely rumbly” range).
Now, rumbliness vs buzziness is a personal preference. Although most people prefer rumbly vibrations, some want neutral or even buzzy vibes. If that’s you, consider the Pillow Talk Racy if you like neutral vibrations or the Lovense Ambi for moderately buzzy vibrations.
The We-Vibe Tango X is the best if you’re like most people and want those deep-feeling, rumbly vibrations. If you enjoy larger toys with more extreme power, you could also consider the We-Vibe Wand 2 – one of my best wand vibrators with exceptionally rumbly vibrations.
Stimulation Precision
Whether you prefer focused or broad stimulation is entirely a personal preference.
The Lovense Exomoon provides focused stimulation. It’s one of the narrowest bullet vibrators I’ve tested. And the lipstick tip comes to a fine point, giving it an even tinier surface area.
This is great for limiting stimulation to a small, specific area. If you prefer direct clitoral stimulation, this is an excellent option. I can apply medium pressure with this bullet but don’t like to press too hard, or the small tip begins to feel pokey. The Lovense Ambi provides more moderate focus if you enjoy some broader stimulation.
The We-Vibe Tango X provides focused stimulation due to its thin width (0.69 inches) and lipstick-shaped tip. The lipstick tip comes to a fine edge that you can use to target the vibrations into an exact area.
Rumbly vibrations travel deep into the body and feel like they naturally impact a more significant area, so limiting the contact to a particular spot is nice.
If you want slightly broader stimulation, you can use the long side of the Tango X to spread out the contact area more.
App Control: Close Range Features
The Lovense app is outstanding and is my personal favorite app for controlling my toys. It offers a wide variety of simple, intuitive, and useful features to control the Exomoon. (The connectivity is also extremely reliable – we discuss connectivity here).
The main “Remote” control screen is easy to use and gives precise, extremely versatile control over your vibrations. Use the “Float” button to quickly set the vibration power to any constant level.
Or you can draw out the exact pattern you want to feel by dragging your finger up and down to increase or decrease the vibration strength. Click “Loop” to put your creation on repeat. If you enjoy the pattern, you can save it for future use.
You’ll also see the vibration pattern clearly on the screen, so if a partner controls your Exomoon, they can tell exactly what you’re feeling. Many other brands don’t provide good visuals to your partner, making it hard for them to understand how their actions affect your toy’s vibrations.
One downside we noticed is that if you lock your phone screen, the vibration pattern changes a bit. The Exomoon keeps vibrating, but it’s not the same pattern you drew using the “Loop” button. This issue is only a minor inconvenience, and it does not occur when using the “Float” button to set a constant strength or when using pre-designed patterns.
You can choose from pre-made patterns under the “My Patterns” screen and adjust their speed. Or head to the “Discover” section to view patterns created and shared by other Lovense users. You can save any of these to your library.
You can vibrate along to your favorite songs with the “Music” feature, but they have to be songs saved on your phone. Spotify compatibility has been disabled since September 1, 2022, when Spotify discontinued support for third-party apps. You can adjust how sensitive your toy is to the beats of the music. This is an excellent feature if you want to enjoy a constantly changing pattern without keeping your fingers busy on the screen.
Use the “Sound” feature to make your bullet responsive to the noise picked up by your phone’s mic. This is especially fun in a louder environment with Lovense’s wearables like the Lovense Ferri or Lovense Lush 3.
You can also set an alarm for your bullet to buzz at a particular time, though this is less useful for handheld toys like the Exomoon.
App Control: Long Distance Features
The Lovense Exomoon’s long-distance features and experience are excellent.
The Lovense app allows you to connect with a long-distance partner anywhere in the world. Adding a partner (or partners) is simple. Once you’ve saved them in your partners list, you can text, send photos, video chat, and share control of your toy – all within the Lovense app.
Your partner’s control screen is the same as the “Remote” feature you have during solo play. So they can easily create a repeating pattern using the “Loop” function or set your Exomoon to a constant power using “Float.”
While video-chatting, your partner can see the vibration pattern overlayed on the screen so they can tell what you’re feeling. Or they can hide the vibration pattern to see you more clearly! Lovense’s visuals during video calls are better than other brands like Satisfyer. You can also share control without video or audio for anonymous play.
You can save multiple partners in your list if you connect with them often. Or send out an anonymous one-time link to someone. The anonymous feature lets you send a control link that works for a set amount of time. Once the time expires, they’ll lose access.
If your partner also has a Lovense toy, you can simultaneously control each other’s toys! You can adjust your partner’s settings to either require an invite and confirmation to control your toy each time, or to automatically accept their request so they can take you by surprise! This feature is best for their wearable toys like the Lovense Ferri and Lovense Lush 3.
The Lovense Remote is the most intuitive app for long-distance control I’ve used. And you each have great control and privacy settings to customize the experience. If you are primarily looking for a long-distance bullet vibrator, a Lovense toy like the Exomoon or Lovense Ambi provides the best experience.
App Control: Connectivity
The Lovense Exomoon and other Lovense toys have the most reliable connectivity with their app. It connects to the app quickly and easily. And it remains reliably connected.
The first time you pair the Exomoon with Bluetooth, you’ll select “Add Toy.” The initial pairing process takes less than 20 seconds. After you’ve paired it once, when you open the Lovense app, it will typically connect instantly and automatically.
Most brands require you to walk through a series of steps each time you want to play, but Lovense’s connection is typically instantaneous.
I hardly ever have trouble with it disconnecting during use, even if I leave it dormant while using other apps. If it disconnects due to separating the toy and phone, it often automatically re-pairs when they’re back in range.
And if you do have to manually re-pair it, it’s a very quick and easy process. Simply select the Exomoon from your list of toys again.
The same applies to long-distance control. My partner and I can keep a reliable connection, with disconnections being rare and minimally disruptive even if they do occur.
If app control is important to you, Lovense toys are the best – primarily because of their reliable connectivity.
Comfort & Ease of Use
The Lovense Exomoon is very comfortable and easy to use. It’s right at the shorter end of my ideal bullet length. Its 3.4-inch length provides enough space to grip and leverage the bullet for good pressure. Vibrations in my hand are minimal and not distracting.
The bullet’s discreet “lipstick design” gives it some unusual ridges near the tip, which I had to adjust to. But it’s nothing that will bother most people.
The Exomoon has just one button on the toy. So if you don’t want to use the Lovense app, you’ll need to cycle through the 3 intensity levels and 4 vibration patterns. I wish it had separate buttons to increase and decrease power. But if you want more in-depth control, you can use the app. The button is easy to press without adjusting my grip.
The We-Vibe Tango X is an exceptionally comfortable and easy-to-use bullet.
It has better controls than other bullet vibrators. Unlike most bullets, which offer a single button to cycle through all the intensity levels and patterns, the Tango X has separate buttons to increase and decrease power; and a third button to move through its vibration patterns.
The three buttons allow you to quickly access your desired intensity or pattern and avoid annoying disruptions searching for your favorite power level.
The rigid form makes it easy to leverage and apply pressure even with its average length. I love the silicone grip on the handle, and the vibrations do not travel much into my hand, so it’s very comfortable.
Use During Sex
The Lovense Exomoon is a decent bullet to use during sex.
Since it’s on the shorter end, it can be a little tiring to reach down and hold it in place during sex. It just takes a little more effort than some.
The tapered tip works well during solo use but requires you to angle the bullet’s base away from your body to keep consistent contact. That angle can be restricted in positions where you’re facing your partner, like Missionary. It’s still doable if you lean away from each other a bit. But it takes more intentionality than some bullets – especially those with angled shapes like the Lovense Ambi.
It’s better in positions facing away from your partner where you have plenty of room to maneuver the bullet.
If using your bullet during sex is a top priority, consider the Lovense Ambi. If it’s not a top priority, most people will still enjoy the Exomoon during sex.
The We-Vibe Tango X is awesome during sex! The rumbly vibrations travel deep into your body, so you don’t have to worry about placing the bullet in a precise spot. The thin, focused tip lets you easily slip the Tango X into tight spaces, and it maintains good contact wherever you place it.
I like that the Tango X is a bit longer than the original Tango because it makes for a more comfortable grip. You don’t need to pinch the end with your fingers; the handle has more space to sit comfortably in your hand so you can leverage the Tango X more easily.
This length also helps to limit how far you have to reach during sex. But it’s not so long that it bumps against my partner’s chest or gets in the way.
Noise
The Lovense Exomoon is very quiet. It’s inaudible from behind a closed door on every power level, so it’s discreet. And the sound isn’t annoying during use, either. If discretion is a priority, the Exomoon is a good choice.
The We-Vibe Tango X’s noise performance is mediocre and may be disappointing if you’re especially worried about discretion. But there are ways to make it completely unnoticeable.
When measuring the Tango X’s noise with a Sound Level Meter, the Tango X’s vibrations measured quieter than the average bullet vibrator. However, when I hold the Tango X loosely in my hand, it will occasionally make a rattling sound that my partner can hear while standing on the other side of our closed bedroom door.
When you press the Tango X to your body or grip the bullet more firmly, the rattling does not happen. And the rumbly vibrations themselves are inaudible from the other side of the closed door. If you don’t want to be distracted focusing on keeping the Tango X pressed to your body, you can turn a box fan on or play music in the bedroom. Both options successfully masked the rattling sound so my partner could not hear it outside the bedroom.
The We-Vibe Touch X is my quietest mini-vibrator if you’d like a more discreet option. Otherwise, the Tango X just takes a little creativity to prevent nosey housemates from hearing.
Battery Life
The Lovense Exomoon is rechargeable and lasted 85 minutes on high power during our testing, which is pretty good. I often forget to charge between uses and still have plenty of battery life.
The We-Vibe Tango X is rechargeable with one of the longest-lasting batteries of any bullet vibrator I’ve tested. It lasted 105 minutes on high power during our test – especially impressive considering its excellent vibration strength. The few bullets that lasted longer, like the Dame Zee and Satisfyer Ultra Power Bullet 5, are weaker than the Tango X.
It’s a great option if you forget to charge your toys between uses or enjoy long sessions!
Build Quality
The Lovense Exomoon’s build quality seems good. A silicone handle would feel a little more luxurious, but the ABS plastic handle feels solid and durable. The silicone tip is very smooth, and the button has a nice feel.
I’ve had the Exomoon since June 2022 and have not experienced any issues yet. And I’ve had other Lovense toys for over 3 years without problems, so I expect the Exomoon to last.
The We-Vibe Tango X has excellent build quality. The silicone handle and buttons are a nice improvement on the original Tango. The silicone adds some padding, which reassures me that it’s less likely to break if I drop it. And it adds a luxurious feel and grip.
The ABS Plastic is comfortably smooth and feels sturdy – not overly lightweight or cheap. The bullet feels well-made overall.
Cleaning
The Lovense Exomoon is completely waterproof (IPX7 submersible), so it’s very easy to wash. You can submerge it in water without worrying about keeping parts dry while scrubbing with soap and water!
The We-Vibe Tango X is 100% waterproof, which makes it very easy to clean. You can submerge this bullet while scrubbing it with soap and water without fear of damage.
